My boyfriend took me there for fine dinning experience and without a doubt it’s one of those one time experiences you need to have. Since it was a surprise I had no idea that it was a virtual reality show that needed to start at the same time for all guests. Nevertheless I called the restaurant because we were running 10min late with all the traffic in Times Square. And they were waiting on us to start the show. The view was amazing, the service was amazing as well. And the food was very good too. I was too full to finish my third course but I wish I could of eaten it all. The dessert was the best I have ever had and they added a special message for our anniversary which was a nice touch. They also offer you a wine to pair with every course so three glasses of wine. The whole experience is very unique and outstanding. The pictures doesn’t do justice to what we experienced.

Food was delicious! The salmon was perfectly medium well but the lentils were slightly undercooked. The lobster mac was super cheesy, not too salty and the lobster was cooked perfectly the consistency was buttery and juicy. The truffle mashed potatoes were creamy and the layers of flavor are out of this world. The view is unlike any other view of the city but because the restaurant turns slowly you may experience slight nausea.I had my dessert, cheesecake to go, and it was good cheesecake with strawberry sauce and fresh strawberries. We ordered a bottle of Cristal and our quality of service increased tremendously. Our waiter was never bad, they just became way more attentive once the champagne was order. The place was packed and there were several people celebrating birthdays, Id recommend you go here for special occasions unless youre ready to spend 100$+ on a meal on a casual night.

It was wonderful experience eventhough we didnt expect it would be buffet not a fine dining. Cold cuts and desserts are amazing. Our server Antonio (Spanish version of Richard Gere) was wonderful! Enjoy your time and dont forget to make a reservation ahead of time. You can do it online.

The service is beyond amazing, the view of course is stellar. I would suggest booking a reservation around sunset, its beautiful overlooking the Hudson River. The food, I am disappointed to say, was sub-par than I would expect for a restaurant of this caliber. The appetizers were good. We got the asparagus ravioli and the crab cake. Fresh, no fillers... The entrees were the disappointment. We got the pork chop and the paella. The pork chop was under seasoned but the apple jus was amazing. The seafood in the paella was cooked perfect but the rice under the seafood was undercooked. It stuck to my teeth. The desserts were great! We went for the pavlova (spelling?) and pumpkin spice one... Delicious.. overall a great experience.. had the servers been sub-par it would have made the experience terrible.

One of the best brunch Ive ever been to! The food was very good, the omelet was freshly made and had many filling options, several options of sweet and savory and my favorite was the smoked salmon! Our waiter was very friendly and the amazing view of NYC was to make everything even better! We were on our honeymoon and our waiter gave us a mini congratulation cake! ❤️Everything was divine! We will definitely be back when we went to NY again!

Was a great experience. We had a great meal. Atmosphere was appropriate for the location. Quiet but active. Can talk at normal levels at table. Extesive wine list with some great options. Cocktail menu seems a little short. Limited beer options.Meal was done exactly as requested; steaks cooked perfectly. Some of the best brussel sprouts Ive ever tasted. Interesting potatoes with meal, but really good. Deserts were great.View is really nice. Lower area seems to be a little more obstructed, but still good. If you can get a window seat, they are really great.

  • Review 7 (2019-10-02 - Rating: 5)

Great service. Great view. Awesome drinks. Be prepared to pay an $8 cover after 8pm. Which seems absurd to me considering the cost of everything already but Im sure people pay it so why not? Our waiter Jeffery was awesome

The View, revolving restaurant is a must visit if in New York! Amazing location, incredible views, staff absolutely fantastic. Luis and Ray went above and beyond with the friendly service and knowledge of the sights as the restaurant revolved. The food was tremendous. Great experience and highly recommend a visit if in New York

    Look mit Pics, all great

  • Review 10 (2019-06-27 - Rating: 4)

A great spot for a romantic dinner or drinks and small bites from the lounge. You great great views from the 48th floor and you rotate full circle in an hour. A perfect spot for cocktails with a sunset view! The only drawback is if you are not a hotel guest they charge $8 person cover.

  • Review 11 (2018-10-29 - Rating: 4)

First of all, I have to say the the food is amazing. Came here for Brunch for a birthday celebration and we all enjoyed it to the max. There are 2 mimosas included and price comes out to $92 with taxes and everything included. It is a buffet style with 4 different stations. This restaurant does offer a 360 view since it goes around the entire building.Besides all the good stuff, i was kind of disappointed that my table wasn’t ready when i got there. I made this reservation THREE WEEKS AGO! It really was a ridiculously 20 mins wait. The first round of mimosas were great, but then the second one was all orange juice. It is a little complicated to get there, but good thing they have staff everywhere that helped us get there quicker.Overall, food and service was good. The View is nice but not something out of this world. I’ve seen better.

  • Review 12 (2018-11-10 - Rating: 5)

The View was absolutely amazing, I went there for pre- Theater dinner. I will advise people before you go, please research their menu online, it helps alot. The complaints about prices are from the uninformed. I decided before hand that I will do the buffet , when I arrived it was a little confusing to get inside the hotel, but thats the beauty of New York, someone is always there to help, its located right before the parking lot, as you reach inside there are signs directing you where to go, 3rd floor. On the 3rd floor, there are always staff members available and willing to assist you to get on the elevator to the 48th floor. When I got to the 48th floor I let the hostess know that I will be having the buffet. they seated me to my table , and the view was amazing. There is a slight rotation, not anything to get you dizzy. The buffet stations consisted of pasta, mashed potatoes, quinoa , bread, salads, meat , there are dessert stations which had a great variety of selected pastries, fruits and a chocolate machine. GREAT VALUE! with the unlimited buffet dinner, I ordered a chocolate martini which, I highly recommended and everything was delicious ! The buffet is $40, there is a small charge for non guest of the hotel( I think ranges from$5-$8) plus with the chocolate martini my bill was $63, not bad at all. The waitress was very helpful, she made sure I was seated and ate in time for me to get to the Lion King. I will highly recommend the view relaxed ambiance to enjoy the New York City skyline.

Cool experience combined with high quality food.I recommende you to go to this place if you want to go on a date or to celebrate something big. The food options were extensive and the new york stripe I took was really good.

  • Review 14 (2018-03-01 - Rating: 4)

It was very good experience but i felt spinning the whole time. The view is a must to see. If you want window table u have to wait a little more. Staff is very friendly and funny. I wish I remembered the waiter ‘s name I only know he’s from Kentucky, he was very helpful & polite. Don’t leave without dessert

  • Review 15 (2018-05-29 - Rating: 5)

I would recommend this location specifically for the lounge and for an opportunity to see the New York skyline while resting your feet or between activities!I love taking guests here when they are in town, because you get to see so much of the beautiful skyline and because it is very conveniently located in Times Square, close to most hotels and many tourist activities. At the lounge you have a few food options including the buffet, but I would recommend getting a few drinks and waiting an hour for the full 360 turn of the rotation! Yes, the drinks are quite expensive (expect $20ish each) BUT it is free to get to the lounge, and they do not rush you, so you can enjoy your very delicious cocktail as you look out at the iconic skyline.I would recommend going early in the evening (4-6pm) because you can often go right up without having to wait, you will not be rushed, and you can see the beginning of sunset. This is the perfect activity for if you want to enjoy the sights of the city, but have a few hours to kill before a Broadway performance or dinner reservation.

The view is a Revolving Restaurant in the 48 Floor of the Marriott Marquis Hotel , to my Kids and Wife nothing new but for a average person kind of interesting good views of the City during the day and night it got 3 different choices of ordering buffet and a la carte

  • Review 17 (2017-06-17 - Rating: 4)

Food is fine, but view is awesome! So if you will go there enjoy the view...

  • Review 18 (2023-11-05 - Rating: 5)

A unique interactive immersive dining experience a 4 course meal everyone has the samething

  • Review 19 (2019-08-09 - Rating: 5)

Great views. The food was good. We had the prix fixe menu. We did circle the city views twice.

  • Review 20 (2021-04-05 - Rating: 5)

Fantastic restaurant, food was amazing! Service was second to none. Obviously the reason you go here is to be able to sit down and see all the sights of New York’s skyline without moving! If you’re in New York, you have to try this place!

  • Review 21 (2019-07-12 - Rating: 5)

In the heart of Manhatten this locations name is spot on! Add in the rotating floor and you have breathless stunning views to keep you enthralled the whole night! An absolute must visit, even if you just stop by for drinks, although i recommend coming here hungry for their buffet dinner!

  • Review 22 (2019-05-26 - Rating: 4)

The view is really great, service is perfect but food could be much better. The appetizers were ok, desserts were pretty good but steak was not good at all. Place is a little overpriced, for 2 person: couple cocktails, 2 appetizers and 2 steaks with tips I paid $300.

  • Review 23 (2019-08-11 - Rating: 5)

May have been a little in the pricier side; however, amazing views, friendly waiters, great service and delicious food. Would definitely recommend

  • Review 24 (2019-12-01 - Rating: 5)

The filet was delicious! The New York strip was dry. Mashed potatoes were delicious. Kids mac and cheese delicious. The desserts were also awesome! The View was good but not spectacular...

  • Review 25 (2019-11-28 - Rating: 4)

Great view. Rotating restaurant. Check menu for personal taste and price. I do recommend. Entire family enjoyed.

  • Review 26 (2019-03-08 - Rating: 5)

Absolutely incredible! This restaurant was an experience we will never forget! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the 360 degree rotating view of NYC was amazing! We especially enjoyed the filet and the crabcakes. It took 70 minutes to rotate completely and we were memorized bu the constantly changing view. We loved seeing Rockafeller Center, the Hudson River, New Jersey, the Chrysler Building, and so much more all while enjoying a relaxing dinner. Definitely a Must Do while in NYC!

  • Review 27 (2024-05-23 - Rating: 5)

We came to NYC for my sister in laws graduation from NYU, decided to come here before going to a broadway show and got some apps and food, the cheese plate and focaccia were absolutely amazing, but the part that really stood out for us was when we asked our server Kazi to take a photo of us, he took us outside to get much better photos that I will cherish for the rest of my life! He was so sweet and kind and I am just grateful that we got to meet him, we had a lot of great service out there, but he by far went above and beyond and just was a genuinely wonderful man! Thank you Kazi! Hope to come see you again the next time we are out there!

  • Review 28 (2024-01-02 - Rating: 4)

This was our second time here with our family, but the first since Covid and the first since La Petite Chef. The bottom line is while still a superior restaurant, the price does not reflect much more than the payment to restore the spinning restaurant mechanism that makes the view worth it in the first place. Please note, and if youve seen our other reviews, you know that, at All Set Vacations, we pride ourselves on providing true and transparent editorial content based on all my years as a journalist and educator. We paid $1200 for this experience.Definitely arrive early. We shared drinks a snack in one of the lower floor restaurants first because we read that it might not be enough food, it definitely was enough food and the wine at dinner was also enough alcohol to suffice anyone.By arriving early, we enjoyed three different appetizers. They were ok, but mostly breading, so, nothing special. The show is cool, but, as a photographer and cinematographer/media person myself, felt a bit dated. Essentially, there is a ultra high resolution projector above your table with four specifically placed circles that mark your plate. That way the projector can the two-dimensional animation at the same time to all four place settings. Its a simple two-dimensional cartoon chef that runs around and you enjoy his antics for a few minutes as he prepares what youre about to eat and then the food is served right afterwards. Thats pretty much it. It was cool but nothing that was mouth dropping or eye opening other than just being a novelty. It would definitely be worth a look to do it once but not sure if it warrants the heavy price tag. Im not sure if I would recommend coming here just for this part alone. However, the food, plus this experience, depending on your preference for something different could make it worth it.Now for the food itself at dinner. The food was amazing, but, heavy! How anyone can say they didnt feel they ate enough is beyond me! The cream base on many dishes filled us up and we definitely felt it! The portions are fine. I did a little digging and looked up each one of the pairing wines individually. They are all very highly ranked and were all delicious. We have more of a preference for red and we know a bottle of stag sleep alone is a $100 bottle. So having two glasses of that was wonderful. Put that together with all the other ones and if youre a wine person, this is like having a high-end flight. I also included a picture of the menu to see all food and beverage offerings. The dinner courses were fantastic, fresh, and served perfectly. The lobster included a portion of a tail and one claw (would have loved more of that for the price like half of a normal 8 oz tail or skip the rubbery claw even though it helps the presentation). The beef short rib was very tender as well. The first course, again, solid, and the desert was complex and balanced.So....lets lay it out and see if it gets an All-Set seal of approval.....-after the breakdown.Lets be generous and assume each wine glass costs $20. For my wife and I, that would be $160 total.Lets give the first course a $20 price on a normal menu, thats $80 for all four of us.Second course $30 each normally, $120 total.Lets assume each main entree of short ribs would be a max of $50 each- $200 total. And dessert, $20 each or $80 total.So... for 4 people, 2 adults and 2 kids:Thats $640 for a really wonderful dinner for the four of us at a decent high view of the other tall buildings in the area. ( remember, its not spinning currently). Add in a tip of 130 and thats $770.Thats essentially a markup of $430 that is likely paying for the projector and, from what we learned, management to save up to turn the spinning motor back on!Final thoughts: if you can rationalize the extra costs for the experience, do it once but, without the spinning view, the view ( name of the restaurant)! isnt great. But, the food, drinks ,and service is worth $640, but not $1200!

  • Review 29 (2019-01-23 - Rating: 4)

The location is one of the most amazing in New York City. The restaurant is a rotating observatory in the middle of midtown with exciting views of the most famous NYC skyscrapers. Food is good. We enjoyed the menù during NYC restaurant week with a relatively affordable price. In my opinion, the dessert is the weakest part of the menù. Anyway the attraction of the restaurant is the location and not the food.

Service is reaaaally slow but the bar itself is nice. They have a nice selection of drinks and I had the moscato which was good. The seating is really comfortable (which was great after a long day of walking) and they have a ton of TVs playing major sports games. Also, the elevators at the Mariott to get to the bar is a treat in itself

We had a fantastic time at The View - my husband and I truly relished our experience at this rotating rooftop restaurant with a charming atmosphere and stunning views of Midtown, New York City. Reservations are required!

A wonderful view spectacular very rich food wonderful service we had a great time

  • Review 44 (2017-03-31 - Rating: 4)

Interesting concept. The room rotates 360 as you dine in. Menu is prix fixe during out visit. Unfortunately, it was cloudy and rainy during our visit. What luck. Food was good, but did not live up to the price tag. Service was definitely top notch. My family had a great time. Fortunately, the sky cleared up on the way home, and we caught the sunset. Will revisit again, but next time, probably just the buffet.

  • Review 45 (2020-03-15 - Rating: 5)

Wonderful service, delicious food and my filet was cooked perfectly. The Views view was amazing! Highly recommend.

  • Review 46 (2018-05-12 - Rating: 4)

Nice view, ok service but a bit loud music. Hard to keep up the conversation with such high-levelled music. Very good drinks!

  • Review 47 (2019-10-19 - Rating: 5)

The restaurant was a great experience! I went with my dad and brother at 6:30 on a Sunday night and it wasn’t that busy. I was able to have conversation without yelling. The view of the skyline was really nice/partially obstructed. The food options for the buffet were limited but nevertheless very tasty. The desserts were the best part! The pricing was 45$ for a buffet so not too bad for a fancy date option.

  • Review 48 (2019-02-09 - Rating: 5)

Had a great time at the View, celebrating our 4 years anniversary, great food and services. Definitely will return for the food and especially the ambience

  • Review 49 (2021-07-22 - Rating: 4)

The View Restaurant is located on the top floor of the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square. When I stayed at that hotel, I had dinner there. This is a revolving restaurant on the 48th floor. As the name suggests: while tasting foods, you can overlook the night view of Manhattan in 360 degrees. The restaurant offered a fixed menu with 3 courses of meal. The food and the service are fine, not great. But the desert of New York Cheesecake is the best cheesecake I ever had.I do not think you need make a special trip to eat there. If you stay in that hotel, it’s ok to try there. But don’t expect too much.

  • Review 50 (2019-01-03 - Rating: 5)

Took my wife for her birthday. The staff were excellent. Made special requests even on a busy Friday night. The food was just right and was well worth the price. Excellent wine selection. The views were really nice to look at while dining.

My daughter (9 yr old) and I went to the Le Petit Chef experience, it was amazing!!! The food was amazing!!! The waiter was amazing!!! (He even looked good and smelled amazing). The show was so cute but the food was amazing!!!

  • Review 52 (2020-01-10 - Rating: 4)

Good food (buffet style) for a plaisant moment. The view is ok.

  • Review 53 (2017-11-27 - Rating: 5)

We went for Sunday Brunch during Thanksgiving weekend. The restaurant was mostly empty during our 10am seating, but was filling quickly toward 12 noon when we left.Service, views, and food were all top notch. We plan to return next Thanksgiving. The two hour brunch buffet is about $65 per person and worth it, in my opinion.

  • Review 54 (2018-11-02 - Rating: 4)

It’s a good place to have a drink but the views is not as amazing as other revolving restaurants I have been to. However, this place continue to be my favorite place to have a drink and talk about. For one reason, I have a great fascination of revolving restaurants! I have been to quite a few in the United States and other countries as well. I truly enjoy the feelingof seeing different views of New York skyline. If you wonder what you’re looking at, no need to ask the staff. They have it printed on their paper napkin. I must say, visiting The View for drinks and dinner pleases me all the time. The food selections for their buffet is awesome! Great selections of cheeses and other appetizers. It’s a bit pricey but it’s worth it-considering you will be treated by the staff and with the magnificent view of New York City. Drinks are stiff so be ready! If you happen to be in Times Square area and wanna have a peaceful and romantic experience, this place is a place to go. Happy eating...safe travels, and be well.♥️

  • Review 56 (2020-01-28 - Rating: 5)

360 views of The City That Never Sleeps. All while enjoying an amazing buffet. We all were pleased but be aware of the Service Charge on the bill...I missed it the 1st night and double tipped our waitress. It would have been nice if she told me. Other than that, we all ate well and came back the next night to dine with friends.

  • Review 57 (2019-07-02 - Rating: 5)

The view is absolutely worth it. There is a $8 cover charge they apply per person after 8pm but worth it regardless. Drinks are a little pricey but were tasty. We didnt try the buffet, but what we saw looked alright. The view really is incredible, it rotates 360 degrees once an hour and you get to see so much of the city.

  • Review 58 (2018-09-22 - Rating: 5)

I went to the View for brunch twice. Its a lovely place for birthdays or any special occasion. The presentation and selection of the foods are visually appealing as well as delectable to your taste buds. Apart from pleasing your appetite, you get a great rotating view of the NY skyline. They give you two hours to dine & enjoy the sites. I recommend you arrive before 1pm, to give yourself enough time as they start taking the food away by 2:30pm.

Go for the view stay for the food. the lobster mac and cheese was my favorite thing to eat alongside the strawberry cheesecake dessert. If you get a chance to go during sunset the view is amazing. a nice way to be in times square without all the noise pollution as youre above it all. have a cocktail and then take it all in as the restaurant slowly revolves So that you may get a 360 view of the city

  • Review 62 (2018-07-05 - Rating: 5)

This restaurant was absolutely wonderful. The staff is incredibly attentive and so helpful. The food was great and the portions were very filling. When I ordered dessert, I accidentally got the wrong one and once I let our waiter know, the mistake was immediately corrected and the proper one was brought out. It was a wonderful evening.

  • Review 63 (2019-06-20 - Rating: 5)

Meal (lamb shank) was outstanding with all courses very enjoyable. With the service throughout prompt and well timed.Restaurant is a little dated and could do with a gloss over but the bar isnt so dated from memory.Views across Manhattan are good without being spectacular as your gaze isnt without interruption due to building itself. That makes it sound bad, which it is not, just not spectacular.Price is not cheap but that is to be expected due to location, quality of food and experience.Glad to have eaten there and would go again as ultimately the food was mouthwatering.

  • Review 64 (2018-07-23 - Rating: 5)

Simply off the glass elevator ride up towards the lounge you get the sense of sophistication. The view as you wine and dine at this spot is absolutely incredible. Was treated to a slowly rotating 360 degree panoramic visual of beautiful New York City. Food choice was exquisite enough to try a bit of everything. Cheese variety and plenty of wine passionately made love to my taste buds. Staff behaved professionally throughout our night. What a wonderful experience!

  • Review 65 (2019-08-18 - Rating: 5)

The views were amazing, and the seating set up means its hard to get a bad seat. We all enjoyed the buffets and our cocktails. Its really cool that the drink napkins have a map of the visual landmarks to look for as the restaurant rotates.

  • Review 66 (2019-06-28 - Rating: 5)

Fantastic place with a great view and the food was incredible. When you arrive you get out the lift on the top of two floors onto the buffet area. Despite telling staff we had a meal reservation, we was seated and ordered drinks. It wasnt till a few minutes later when my wife went to the restroom we realised our reservation was on the lower of the two floors in the restaurant rather than the upper level buffet diner. Once in the correct spot, the food and service was faultless.

  • Review 67 (2018-05-23 - Rating: 5)

The American Psychiatric Association had their PAC reception on the top floor of the restaurant. The food was good. Staff was amazingly nice. The view of the city at night was beautiful. It was a revolving restaurant so had to be seen! I would go back just to see a view of the city during the daytime!

  • Review 68 (2019-03-09 - Rating: 5)

Great place to visit if your in the Times Square area. We originally only went up for a drink but as we revolved around the buffet section we thought it would be rude to not enjoy some of the decent looking food. It was fairly priced and the staff were attentive and friendly. Some amazing views of the best city in the world while you eat. What more could you want?

  • Review 69 (2018-04-04 - Rating: 4)

Best 360 degree view while eating in NYC. Food was ok, the view from our table was excellent since we had reservations for a table by the window. Highly recommend calling ahead and making your reservation for a table directly by the window. As far as the rotation of the restaurant, I could not really notice it while we were eating, however some in our group said they could tell we were moving the entire meal. Their desserts were actually better than the meal itself. It is worth trying this dining experience at least once to say you’ve been there. :)

With the amount of places to choose to enjoy dinner in NYC, we chose The View, and we are very happy that we did. From check-in in the lobby, to picking up our coats at coat-check upon leaving, we were pleased with the experience. While we did not leave hungry, we certainly werent stuffed either. Portions are on the smaller side, but are made up for in flavor and taste. Our server was fantastic, and even sang Happy Birthday to me......with a chefs complimentary pastry.

  • Review 71 (2018-01-08 - Rating: 5)

Great food, great service, and the rotating view is really cool! I proposed to my girlfriend and everything was awesome. The waiter brought us complimentary champagne immediately after, took pictures for us, and we never felt rushed to leave, even though we were there for 3 hours. We will definitely be going back in the future!

To celebrate my birthday in a quiet cozy place, my choice fell on this restaurant. The luxurious interior, a varied menu and excellent service left a vivid impression and a desire to return again! The romantic dinner ended with serving dessert on the house, i was very pleased for the attention. I will definitely return to this wonderful place!

  • Review 73 (2018-03-23 - Rating: 4)

Beautiful scenery as the restaurant rotates giving you a 360 view of the city. My friends and I had the buffet. If youre a vegan or enjoy salads, the food is good. I wasnt impressed with the chicken or other meat (that I dont remember) dish. Very convenient for theater goers. Desserts were not impressive. Ordered lemonade, but received a limeade.

  • Review 74 (2018-10-28 - Rating: 5)

Such a great experience. The food was amazing. The crab cake was fresh. The lamb was succulent. The dessert was so flavorful. Everything was beautifully presented. The service was exceptional. The ambience was elegant and the views from the 47th floor were stunning. It took us about an hour to rotate back to our original position. Definitely will visit again.

  • Review 75 (2020-02-03 - Rating: 4)

Very nice view and very nice crab cakes but the chicken was tasteless. The room rotates but its not very noticeable unless you stare out the window. One thing I did not like was the fact that its complicted to get there from the lobby... you have to go up the escalator then turn right until you see some elevators and only one elevator takes you there... if I remember the G Elevator but not quite sure..... and if you have a reservation, you cannot be seated until everyone is there I was told...

  • Review 76 (2019-06-02 - Rating: 4)

The views are amazing... service is great. Drinks are pricey ($20 glass of wine)There is a one drink minimum and $8 cover if you aren’t staying at the hotelThere’s food - but it didn’t seem worth the price - $42 for dinner and $22 for desserts.

  • Review 77 (2020-01-19 - Rating: 5)

Restaurant deserves 10 stars. Absolutely amazing. The restaurant rotates so you have a complete 360 view of the city. The crabcakes is a must have and the lamb chops medium well is to die for.the strawberry dessert to end the meal is amazing. Its definitely worth the money.

  • Review 78 (2019-06-24 - Rating: 5)

It was an amazing restaurant and an amazing experience. The view! I would recommend doing dinner around 7 30 pm as you get to see the sunset while having a sumptuous meal. The food is amazing! But what was very important to me as well was the service. The service is probably the best you will ever receive in New York...in fact...the world! The staff are soooo nice! I would do this restaurant every single day of my life.

  • Review 79 (2014-04-02 - Rating: 5)

Lasting impressions: Fabulous views, didnt eat again all dayMy experience: We went for Sunday brunch and had a bit of trouble finding it. The entrance was in the Marriott - up some escalators and then up a lift. However, the effort was worth it. The view is fabulous and we enjoyed the slow revolution and being able to take in a 360 degree of New York. The food was amazing and far too plentiful. Its a buffet-style brunch and its too easy to try and sample as much as you can :/ We didnt actually need to eat again that day! The mimosas were welcome and its also possible to get hot drinks and soft drinks by asking your waiter. The staff were amazing and the only thing none of us liked was the person employed in both bathrooms to press the soap button and hand you paper towels with a tip jar. I dont know if this is normal in New York (although we didnt see it elsewhere) but its something none of us ever liked about the London club scene when they felt the need to employ people to hand you paper towels that you could have pulled out of the dispenser by yourself. However, thats a minor gripe and Im sure other people wont be as irritated by it (and we probably wouldnt have been if wed been prepared for it but theres a certain embarrassment attached to not having any cash on you at that moment). The verdict: Expensive but, for us, worth it. We would go back.

  • Review 80 (2018-09-18 - Rating: 5)

My Girlfriend took me out to this place on my birthday and I loved it.The view was astonishing, as expected. The food was delicious to say the least, best crab cake Ive ever had. The dessert was, as stated in the menu lol, to day for. Great service as well. So all in all the place was kinda pricey but worth the money on special occasions.

  • Review 81 (2019-08-19 - Rating: 4)

Very nice view as it should be to live up to the name. This is a price fix restaurant for three courses. Shareable sides are extra. My wife and I had different salads, mine was heirloom tomato caprices with what i believe was very fresh mozzarella, it was delicious. We both got the lamb chops, I asked for med. rare but they were done just a little bit past that point but very tasty. The restaurant takes 1 hour to make a full 360 degree spin. Be sure to get a copy of the drink napkin with the names of the buildings you will see while eating (the wait staff will help you figure out were they are). Service is very good and there is no rush to turn the table over we did at least to full spins. This is were I think Google should increase the rating system to 1 thru 10. To me this place is better than a 4 but not a quite a 5 (I am hard pressed on this system to give 5s) on a 1 to 10 this would be a 8.5

  • Review 82 (2019-01-04 - Rating: 4)

We went to the buffet in the View Lounge. You dont need a reservation (unlike the View restaurant) and the food choice is decent for the price. The view from up there is great. The lounge is family-friendly and kids pay half price. Our 3 year old ate for free.

  • Review 83 (2017-09-01 - Rating: 5)

Quite a good experience.Went there on a Thursday evening around 7pm, easy access, impressive elevator and pretty amazing view. An original place. We just had fresh ice tea (6$ each) and made sure to leave before 8pm not to pay the $8 fee. Was definitely worth it :)

  • Review 84 (2019-10-06 - Rating: 5)

Came for restaurant week and it was a good deal. Stayed for two revolutions (2 hours). The food was surprisingly good and the staff were quite nice. There is a revolving bar and lounge one flight up too. The ride up in the glass elevators through the Marriott lobby is a real 1980s throwback.

  • Review 85 (2018-12-22 - Rating: 4)

Great view & service - food was sub-par for the price. Worth the trip for the sight seeing though!

  • Review 86 (2020-01-23 - Rating: 5)

Theres a reason why the call it the View. The revolving restaurant gives you an amazing view of the city, especially at night when the city comes alive. The buffet was amazing! The appetizers, salads, entrees and especially the desserts are delish. The chocolate fountain and the many different fruits is a great touch.

  • Review 87 (2019-03-17 - Rating: 5)

I went there for my birthday and the experience was nothing short of astounding. The elevator that leads to the lounge gives you beautiful views of the hotel. Mind you, there is an $8 cover charge after 8pm on all days. The buffet was brilliant with endless salad and dessert options. Meat variety was not that much but you cant ask for anything more for just $40. I tried 7-8 different cocktails and all of them were great. Our server Pete impressed us with his quick and polite service. He even made a special dessert for me with cream and strawberries and put candles on it to make it special for my bday!It takes roughly 70mins for you to get one 360 degree rotation. The views are amazing. Planning to come back again during the daytime!

  • Review 88 (2019-11-05 - Rating: 4)

This is a spinning restaurant with an amazing view of New York City at the top of a hotel in Times Square. They have a full buffet that wasnt that great compared to all the other good food the city has to offer, but the view makes up for it. The restaurant slowly spins, and before you realize youve been moving, your view of the city is different. Its really dark and intimate, and it gives you some really cool photo opportunities. It was kind of confusing to find our way up to the restaurant. We were guests of the hotel. Maybe there just wasnt as much staff around at the time. But it should be a bit clearer for those trying to get to The View.

  • Review 89 (2019-10-02 - Rating: 4)

The food was good, the rotating 360 view of Manhattan was amazing! The buffet offers choices for different tastes and anyone can find something they like. The $8 cover fee looked a bit weird considering you pay $50 for the buffet.

  • Review 90 (2017-12-13 - Rating: 5)

Highly recommended, we had Anniversary dinner and our waiter Farrukh went above and beyond! Views are spectacular and food was delicious! Even though dessert was included, they brought out a small cake with Happy Anniversary and candles, nice touch. Will definitely come back again!

  • Review 91 (2019-12-14 - Rating: 5)

The food here was wonderful and the service was great. I would recommend the restaurant to any couple looking to have a romantic date night.

  • Review 92 (2018-10-22 - Rating: 5)

Nice and trendy restaurant on top of Marriott Marquis Hotel. The restaurant rotates/turns on its own axis once per hour, approximately. If you come short time before dusk, you will have a great view/prospect by daylight as well as by night. The restaurant is a little bit exclusive and upmarket. But you can only take some drinks, if you want to eat dinner somewhere else. You can get the best tables/seats which are located directly at the windows if you are two persons. Three and more persons will be guided and assigned to tables in the second and third row.

Nice view, but the food was... 😅😅😅 Not bad 😅😅😅

  • Review 94 (2018-07-25 - Rating: 5)

Visited the view in 1991 and again in 92. Food was excellent, view was amazing, wait staff incredible. They were especially nice when I arrived at 1130pm that first year - serving a wonderful steak tar tar and vegetables to a well warn traveler from Oregon late in their shift and even offering descriptions of the various landmarks of the city as the Restaurant rotated. My wife and girls are headed to NYC on a college graduation trip for our youngest daughter soon and The View will be their first Restaurant experience in NYC. Highly recommended.

  • Review 95 (2019-02-08 - Rating: 5)

The views were beautiful. I was there with girlfriends and my husband called to surprise us with a bottle of wine. I was extremely disappointed that he was not successful because they needed to email him a conformation to sign and return and he was commuting so that wasnt possible. We had the prefix menu and the food was delicious and just enough of everything without making us feel too full.

  • Review 96 (2018-07-23 - Rating: 5)

The food is the standout star. The views are a close second. The rotation of the restaurant is novel and confusing for the first time visitor. The waiting staff are brilliant and entertaining with genuine courtesy towards all guests.Watching the city view revolve is a wonderful backdrop to a truly amazing meal.

  • Review 97 (2018-05-23 - Rating: 5)

Fantastic food and, of course the View. Great service and of course the View.

  • Review 98 (2017-10-08 - Rating: 4)

Upscale kind of place. The restaurant has a floor that rotates to give you that 360° view of NYC. All the food we had was fancy delicious. You will not get dizzy from the rotation; its a graceful motion. I think its a pricey for the food but I guess its the view youre paying for.

  • Review 99 (2018-09-25 - Rating: 5)

The View offers delicious food in a beautiful and unique atmosphere, revolving 48 floors above Times Square, with dramatic city and river views. The food is exceptional and the service is first-rate, but it is the staff that makes this place special. Treat yourself to a special dinner here!

  • Review 100 (2019-08-21 - Rating: 5)

Great enjoyed very much. Get the all you can eat Buffett. If soft drinks and coffee were included and self serve would be much much better because you have to count on you server for that and its very very slow. Servers seem to be great but to few of them. Let them bring all alcohol and other duties and let us do the rest. Would be much better in general for the public and there ratings would go up do to better service and better deal. I walked around for about 1hr talking to all customers maybe 20 different tables and many people at buffet lines and all wanted better and faster table service. Food was fine but not great and no fruit pies no soup no rice etc. Most people said its good for a 1 time try only.

  • Review 101 (2020-02-17 - Rating: 5)

Buffet was surprisingly good. Salad was super fresh. My chocolate martini was excellent. I never felt rushed even with a choice table at the window.Buffet was $42. Worth it to me for The View!

  • Review 102 (2013-03-30 - Rating: 4)

The rotating view around Times Square is reason enough to visit this place. The drinks are definitely worthwhile if you are taking the convenient transit options. The buffet in the rotating bar/lounge is a great option-especially with children. The restaurant is best when you make a reservation at least a few hours in advance. I have been to the view at least 4 times and I am always treated well and the staff is very courteous and mindful of special requests. Although its a tourist spot, any local should visit the view.

  • Review 103 (2020-01-28 - Rating: 5)

There are no words to explain how wonderful this restaurant is. This restaurant is primarily famous for its rotation. This restaurant is known as the rotating restaurant. It takes an hour and a half to complete the rotation. We went to the buffet section and there were variety of items to select from. I tried bits of every item available and all the food that I tried were simply amazing. The most I liked was the desserts that were available. The chocolate desserts were simply yum 😋

  • Review 104 (2018-12-18 - Rating: 4)

Lovely views circling all of Times square. One rotation takes an hour, and the wait staff is very happy to let you linger over a drink or two for that. Of time. The drink menu nice, if a little limited. It would be wonderful to be able to order an appetizer or two. Your only choices are the dinner buffet or dessert buffet, which is a lot of food. awesome napkins show you all the landmarks you are viewing. Dont try to get near it on a Saturday night!

It was very valuable for my Hospitality Students to experience Fine Dining. They waitstaff was knowledgeable and the food was beautifully presented & served.

  • Review 106 (2020-02-08 - Rating: 5)

The staff are super lovely and amazing one of the best experiences ever. I highly advise to make a reservation during open table to not wait a lot of time for a table. They do give you an option to wait for a table for a good view we waited 30 mins while having a cocktail in the lough. I highly recommend this restaurant. Definitely on my top list.

The staff was attentive and the place is amazing over looking Times Square, but I personal find it rather boring. Drink were strong and I couldnt stay there for a full circle round. I dont know if it is a drink or rotating floor make my head feel funny :-) Over all it is very nice visiting and lovely experience.

Bring guests up here for drinks every time I have visitors from outside of NYC. Its a great view of the city and not too overpriced for a hotel... Only had drinks though.Tip - off season has no wait! Next week or so is probably great... come Spring Break - who knows. Definitely trying to get up to the top over the holidays (Xmas/New Years) is going to require a wait of an hour... February and Summer time are your best bets.R

First be prepared its very expensive even by NYC standards. If you pop in for just a drink you will pay an $8cover and your drink will be 15 or more. However, that being said. From a tourist perspective its coolExtraordinary revolving view of the city. Did it once. Happy I did. I am done

  • Review 115 (2019-02-19 - Rating: 5)

New Yorks only revolving rooftop restaurant - definitely worth checking out. The wait staff was nice and attentive. The restaurants main draw is of course the revolving view, situated stop the Marquis on the 48th floor. The food itself was great but admittedly overpriced. The Prixe Fixe menu was well put together. The wine list was impressive.Seating by the window is quite the wait, so be aware and it is not guaranteed.Overall, great for one-offs - special occasions or an out of town visitor.

It is a must visit if you go to New York. Very romantic dinner. We mentioned we were on our honeymoon and the stuffs were absolutely incredible and kind with us. It is a bit expensive but that is what you get when you visit other countries and, of course, this is a big city. The views at night are amazing. The restaurant is moving while you eat although you dont feel it, so you dont get dizzy. It is an incredible experience that we highly recommend as doing something different in this magical city. We will repeat for sure.

  • Review 119 (2019-10-30 - Rating: 5)

The staff is courteous. The view is ok, but compared to other spinning 360 view restaurants (Berlin tv tower & Torontos CN tower) it is leaving in that regard. The food is delicious and the service is quick! Be willing to fork out the dough, this is on the higher priced side of restaurants.

  • Review 120 (2018-11-09 - Rating: 5)

We had 2 waiters. 1 was okay, because she was split among other tables, and 1 was great because he picked up the slack. I also saw how that waiter managed a table of folks that didnt want the full pre fixe menu... So professional. It is nice to see a level of professionalism like that... This restaurant can handle all levels of care with the level of appropriate professionalism and thats amazing. We were looking for the top tier care and we got that as well. They knew what to do.

  • Review 121 (2019-09-20 - Rating: 5)

This duplex Restaurant and Lounge is wonderful, It sits inside and on top of the Marriott Maquis in the heart of Timesquare. To get to it its a bit tricky, you have to go up to the third floor which you can get to using escalators from the ground floor. Once on the third floor you will see a row of elevators with one marked The View. The Restaurant is located on the 48th floor, and once your in the elevator it will zip up pretty quickly....so enjoy the ride. You are greeted by the hostess upon entry and he/she will seat you at a available table. The Restaurant itself is very nice, upscale, organized, clean, and has a soft dimmed ambiance setting with lit candles on each table and not to mention the View is beautiful especially at night as the entire restuarant rotates in a 360 view. This Restaurant and Lounge is great for business meetings, dates, anniversaries, Romance etc etc. Food and beverages where delicious and great, buffets open to self serve, service is pretty good, restrooms are clean but be warned this place is a tad bit pricey...so know what your getting into before hand. Overall my experience at this place was great and memorable, I am sure to return again and recommend this place for sure.

  • Review 123 (2017-06-09 - Rating: 4)

The view out of the window is awesome and restaurant floor does a full rotation in one hour. Place is clean, but pricey and food is most likely what youd expect of touristic location.Unfortunately some people on our party couldnt handle rotating building so we had to leave the place without ordering, hence 4 stars instead of 5.

  • Review 124 (2018-06-26 - Rating: 5)

The view is lovely! Wish they would watch or post the landmarks you are passing. They give a napkin but hard to dicepher.Although pricey, the food was quite good. Service impeccable. A definite treat.

  • Review 125 (2019-02-04 - Rating: 4)

Very fun unique way to see NYC skyline in rotating bar. Prepare to pay NYC prices: 3 drinks and an appetizer was almost $80, but also paying for the experience. I wish they were open during the day so we couldve gone there while it was light out to see the city in the daylight as well, got dark right when they opened when I was there in early January... Consider extending your hours and open earlier!

  • Review 126 (2018-11-19 - Rating: 5)

#viewfromtheview is breathtaking. Thoroughly enjoyed 360 degree view of NYC while enjoying buffet dinner.

  • Review 127 (2018-11-03 - Rating: 4)

The main gimmick of this restaurant is obviously the revolving seating area which does provide a beautiful view but is obscured a little by some dirty inside and outside windows (and the obvious support structures). The food is a prix fixe three-course meal with a variety of options. Our party selected the steak and a filet mingon. The food does taste good but the portion size is perhaps a bit much - we couldnt finish the full plate of the steak and definitely could not stomach a dessert after. Unfortunately also the lobster mac-n-cheese side dish had gone off as it had a very strong bitter taste which led to one of our party members to vomit almost immediately after leaving the restaurant (which was a little aggravated by the revolving seats). Nevertheless the service and staff were friendly and efficient - if you enjoy the gimmick of revolving restaurants this is a definite visit but if you prefer your food motionless, it definitely easier to visit an observation tower instead.

Came for dinner during restaurant week to celebrate my anniversary, I felt that there was a great value in the $42 restaurant week special because you get 3 courses, all which were delicious. I had an excellent server named Eric who was extremely attentive and was excited to share a few jokes along with suggestions on meal and drink choice. As we were celebrating our anniversary, our desserts came decorated with a little sign wishing us a happy anniversary. I loved that personal touch- it was very sweet and made our experience that much more memorable. We had a window seat so we had great views of Manhattan.

We asked for a window seat and got it. This was part of the NYC Restaurant Week, meaning the whole dinner was $ 42, excluding wine, tax and tip.The food was nice and our waiter, Brian, was excellent. And of course the view from the restaurant, which is the reason why people come there in the first place.

  • Review 131 (2017-10-01 - Rating: 5)

From the elevator ride up to the coffee at the end of the meal it was a great time. It rotates a full 360 degrees in about an hour so you will see every direction of the city in your meal. I appreciated that they had napkins with a guide to all the buildings that were in view. We got the mudslides and they were great. The staff was so helpful and friendly.

We had a 3-course dinner at View Lounge. And we had mixed feelings about this place. The view is absolutley fantastic, since the restaurant it locaded at the 46th floor. The floor also rotates, very slow. So you have time to see beautiful NYC.The first course was SOO good! We had crabcake and shrimps.Secound course, not so good. They overcooked my meat.Dessert, they forgot is. We waited for 40 mins before we asked for it. They compensated for that by giving us all the desserts on the meny. The staff was very friendly.
