    We went to the Whitby for high tea with a group of 4 yesterday. Unfortunately, we were unprepared for the half marathon delays, but when I called the staff was able to push back our reservation for us which was extremely appreciated.The tea selection was broad, and the sandwiches, scones, and treats served were delicious. We had a lovely time and would definitely return. Thank you for a beautiful Sunday afternoon!

    Really good attention and the breakfast was sooo delicious!Yes, its a little overpriced... but for a new experience it was pretty good.The ambience was relaxed and my servers really polite.Overall, a great place!!And to be fair, I think the continental breakfast its perfect for 2 people. I couldnt finish mine!! (I know the name should had gave me a clue, but I actually asked if it wasnt too big... they said NO.😳😅)Price: U$38,66. (Gratuity included)(The only thing I didnt quite liked was that they added 20% of the gratuity. So it actually doesnt give you any choice. To me that was weird, but I didnt knew what the policy was, so... thats that.🤷🏻‍♀️)

    Wanted a fun way to celebrate graduation so came to the Whitney Bar for afternoon tea. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time it books up quickly!We arrived and were promptly seated. The staff was really nice up front. The tea options were amazing! The tiers of food kept coming and honestly had the best scones I’ve had in the city. Felt like I was transported to london!They also have me a special graduation cake and made me feel very special. The waiter was so helpful and friendly. Loved it and will be back again!

    Okay so since this place opened by the work place Ive walked by often and have secretly wanted to attend afternoon tea midsummer in a cute A-dress (I know NYC in the summer....... midtown, rethink).But alas that hasnt happened (obvious reasons, laziness and general need to not be midtown at the height of summer in the heat), but impromptu cocktails after work with the bestie can happen. And oh boy did it happen.......they had me at the lobbys decor and live jazz by the bar. The staff was super pleasant from the door. And the mixologists are gifted.Afternoon tea is appearing to be more of a possibility. At the least cocktails and jazz is a definite.The place just makes you feel sexy even in jeans. After work rotation this will become and possible dinner may need to be worked in.

    I am going to start off by saying Danny the bartender basically made this experience. His great personality and charismatic demeanour created a pleasant and enjoyable bar experience.I ordered the following drinks: Berry Allen, Just Peachy, and Lavenders Nectar.All the drinks were delicious and creative. The Just Peachy could have been slightly better strained (Danny didnt make that one), but either way every drink was fantastic. The drinks were easy to consume and the place was nice and quiet.The Whitby Bar is definitely the type of place you want to stop in for a High Tea, an elegant bite of food, or a splendid cocktail. The location is beautiful and the restrooms are wonderful.

    The Whitby Bar is a great choice for a drink out with friends in Midtown. The ambiance is upscale and stylish, with a 30-foot pewter bar and comfortable seating. They have a wide selection of cocktails, and the bartenders are knowledgeable about their craft. I would definitely recommend checking it out!

    My husband and I had afternoon tea here. The room was beautiful, colorful and airy. The wedgewood china had the Sailors Farewell design, sooo pretty. There were several choices of teas, scones, finger sandwiches and bite sized desserts. A very delightful afternoon in a beautiful setting! A must do in NYC!

    I was invited to a dinner here and loved it! The decor is very interesting and thoughtful (check out the clock in the hotel lobby!) and unique. It’s a warm and cozy atmosphere and instantly makes you relax. The drink menu was diverse and the food and service was great. They had lots of gluten free and vegan options on the menu easily marked as well.

    I do want to give a heads up for those who are vegan or gluten free wanting afternoon tea. Even though their website says they can accommodate, that was pre-pandemic and now they do not. I had to get something off their lunch menu which was fine but obviously I was there for afternoon tea so I was disappointed. Everything else was wonderful, including the quinoa kale salad I had.

    I came here for the afternoon tea. It was a really nice experience overall! I got there about 15 minutes before my reservation and they were able to seat me right away. It took some time to get service at first though. I had to wait a while for water and the menu. Once I ordered the tea everything was really smooth. I enjoyed all of the food. Some other reviews said the food was not good, but I thought everything was really good! Sandwiches were not stale, scones were amazing and the pastries also were delicious.

    I absolutely love this hotel & this bar is a beautiful accessory to an incredible place to stay.The tea time spread is out of this world, and if you can get the Honor Bar room to yourself, you will feel like you’re safe at home, with table service.Details are to be discovered everywhere.

    I went for afternoon tea with a good friend of mine and had an absolutely amazing time. Our server’s name was Otto and he was unbelievably charming. So nice and polite without appearing forced or scripted. He was very patient and helped with the menu and taking pictures of us lol. The decor, the amazing food and Otto makes the whitby a return spot.

    Absolutely stunning, intimate space... Bright and chic interior design with a ode to the bohemian colors, decor and choice in art pieces... Including the furniture... The layout of the bar area has a morden rustic feel and air to its atmosphere. Nice venue for a quiet evening, where light dining, a stocked bar and polite conversations is the highlight of your visit. It is not a boisterous or obscenely loud venue. Great for a first date if you want to take the time to actually get to know each other and be screaming at one another over a cacophony of sounds and the neighboring streets are quite dainty and scenic for a long stroll. Worth a visit. Dress code would be more semi casual to business casual during the day, and you can go for a sort of classy cocktail vibe in the evening. Hosts are quite polite, pleasant and accommodating.

    This place is a gem. When I first came here this summer it was an oasis of service and elegance. The only thing better than the food is the staff. It is a treat to go here for breakfast. The clientele generally behaves themselves although an occasional video call or loud business meeting can intrude on the otherwise pleasant experience.

    Went for Tea. It was wonderful. The decor is unique and a bit eclectic but very enjoyable. I didnt think it would be enough food but we werent even able to finish everything. Finger sandwiches, 4 kinds and mini deserts plus 2 kinds of scones with incredible clodded cream and a choice of jams.

    Fantastic midtown bar & restaurant (more in the spirit of a quiet bar with tables and food, than a restaurant) for informal, wide ranging, low-key business-plus gatherings. Elegant but unpretentious and casual. Good for a work meeting, catching up with an old colleague, or something that could end up being both. Good also if you dont yet know where youll land on the drinks-snacks-meal spectrum, and prefer not to decide. Not cheap, so could be a bit extravagant for a purely personal lunch - for that Id pick a less crossover-y venue. But, for elegant overpriced drinks with friends I do think this works well. Attached to a boutique hotel, so has that feeling about it and perhaps a steady supply of patrons from the upper floors to leaven the business meetings .

    The food here is incredible. The salmon and chicken are the best Ive ever had. The chef combines great flavor with perfect cooking skills to make delicious meals. The ambiance is great as the decorations are top notch. I highly recommend this place for a meal (it even just walk around and look at the space). I cant wait to go back. They have live jazz music too.

    Nice place to relax and have a bite to eat so I took my wife with me. Plenty of nearby parking, told the wife its customary to have someone stay in the car--you know, for safety. Had the most peaceful meal that night. 😀

    Fantastic afternoon tea. The scones with preserves and cottled cream are the star. The atmosphere is elegant. The China was whimsical and pretty. The waitstaff was just o.k. Overall, a 5 star experience. Ill return.

    Its my local. I like the tall ceilings and the conservatory in the back. The bar is very well stocked, the wine list is solid if not very adventuresome, and the food is good. Only drawback: a dearth of solid vegetarian options. Difficult how a restaurant of this standing thinks it can get away with offering only agnolotti as a vegetarian option.

    Excellent cocktails and wine. They make their own marmalade at the bar to flavor drinks. They can make you any drink you like with the marmalade’s as flavor. Great atmosphere and very friendly and attentive but not overly wait staff. The food isn’t special but good. The atmosphere and bar makes up for it all. Great place not too crowded.

    Great ambiance, great service, as youd expect from a Firmdale property having spent a lot of time at its London venues over the years.I had a business lunch here. Burrata, summer leaf salad and yellowfin tartare were all excellent starters. Mains were Blackbass, branzino and salmon. All excellent and flavorful. No dessert, just espresso and cappuccino. Definitely worth a visit, will surely be back.

    A great place to sneak in for a drink to warmup during Christmas shopping. If you make it clear youll only be there for a drink sometimes the hostess will get you to a seat quicker (though youll have to be out by a certain time before the reservation arrives)

    Classy spot with great service -- good for a date or with a few friends. Piano Getting a Drink (something like that) was refreshing enough to get another, especially after the Malbec left something to be desired. We were already full from dinner, but got french fries, which were good to pick at, just because of the local ordinance -- the menu looked really appetizing. The live jazz on Friday nights was also a great surprise. Hadnt known when I booked! Also bar seating was better than I expected -- two loungy chairs with our own low table looking directly at the musicians. Would definitely come back.

    Went here for afternoon tea. The place is beautifully decorated, the food not so much. We ordered the afternoon tea special with champagne. Two types of scones, plain and blueberry; They were ok. Three type of sandwiches; they were ok. Four different desserts; they were ok. At the end of it we felt full but wasnt satisfied full. The food stand was wobbly. We told the server and he said thats how it is and didnt do anything about it. Thats was wild to me for a place like this to have wobbly stand, and I think our stand wasnt the only one wobbly. I would go back to have drink or try other things on the menu but not for afternoon tea.

    LOVE this place for cocktails! The vibe is great, the service is very friendly and fast, and the cocktail menu has an impressive list of creative cocktails. Got the matcha limon (first time ever seeing a matcha cocktail and I absolutely love matcha) and it was beautiful and delicious. Definitely going to be coming back here with friends for some drinks.
