Thyme Bar is an absolute gem in NYC! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is cozy and stylish, perfect for a night out. The cocktails are amazing—so creative and delicious, and they look incredible, too. The staff is super friendly and passionate about their craft. It’s a great place for a date night or just hanging out with friends. Definitely a must-visit bar! -

One of the best nights I have ever had in NYC. Bartenders Martin, Alex and Vibe are the most creative bartenders. We asked for customized drinks by giving them stories, flavors and the choice of alcohols. Turned out, the drinks were made to perfection. From the ingredients, to the flavor and to the presentation, everything amazed me. Definitely worth the experience. We were bar hopping and decided to end our night in the Thyme bar. The best decision! It’s also my first time giving out such big amount of tips.See you guys in 2 weeks!! -

After dinner, we went to Thyme Bar for cocktails. Reservations are recommended but we were lucky to walk in and get a table for 4. All the drinks we ordered were very creative and delicious. The bar itself has a nice sexy speakeasy vibe. Hands down we agreed that Agrabah was the BEST. -

10/10 recommended!! Bartenders, Martin, Alex and Vibe are so friendly and SOOO CREATIVE!! Tell them what you want and they make it happens! Definitely going back soon!! -

AMAZING!!!! Vive and Alexander are the best bartenders!! The drinks are all amazing with great presentation, perfectly balanced cocktails done with ARTISTRY, and just overall a 100. One of the best bars I’ve been to in my life. Would totally come back!! -

We came here around 10pm on a Tuesday and were able to get seated without having to wait. The place was at about 60% capacity when we got there, but it filled up to 100% by the time we finished our drinks around 11:30pm. When I originally looked up this place it said there was a cocktail tasting menu, but they had a normal a-la-carte menu that we ordered from. The cocktails were good and I loved the presentation! -

Intimate speakeasy hidden underneath a coffee shop. We almost missed it looking at the storefronts but found our way by following their carpet. The drinks were quite elaborate in terms of presentation. I had the Agrabah and thought it was good. -

This place is epic. Drinks were outstanding and the bartender knew the most complex drinks as well. He was super creative and made our group multiple different incredible concoctions. We were blown away by some of them. It was like drinkable art. The atmosphere is nice too, it’s very dark and cozy. Fun place, I definitely recommend it to anyone that likes outstanding craft cocktails. -

Service was a bit slow despite us putting in our order all at once at the beginning, but the artistry of the drinks made up for the wait time. We did the experience for $95pp (which ended up being $120+ due to the 18% tip that was automatically added). We got an amuse bouche to start, 3 drinks, a menu item and a dessert item. Expensive, but considering the costly ingredients that go into the drinks and the time it takes to craft them - worth it for one night. The tuna poke was quite small though, so dont come hungry. Its a very cool ambiance downstairs - upstairs its just the bakery Chanson which they convert to extra seating at night, so its not really even worth sitting up there because you dont get the full experience. The waiter explains each drink as it is served to you, which is a personal touch, and the bartender is quite skilled at his craft. Hostess is very nice and took great pictures for us at the end of the night! All around very pleasant night out. -

More than cocktails ! You’re having a real and exciting experience !The pairing cocktail with food is perfect.I had so many friends recommending me this place, I had to try and I loved it !We were a group of 4, were seated at the bar and we enjoyed very very much everything. From the mixologists making our cocktails to the decor … and how they serve our cocktails ! Delicious, beautiful ! And the team were so nice ! I’ll go back -

1,000% recommend. The drinks are creative but intelligently crafted and the presentation is phenomenal. A lot of care and attention goes into each one. I knew I was in the right place when I saw a drill behind the bar!Phoebe was amazing taking our orders and helping explain the flavor profiles of each cocktail. Alexander was our bartender and kindly entertained all of our questions, like “Which drink is that? And which drink is that?!” Lol. They also explained additional details about each drink upon serving. 🙌Getting a spot at the bar is totally worth it. We didn’t try any snacks this go around as we just came from dinner but we loved this place so much, we plan to come back before our short stay in NYC comes to an end! -

Cocktails are always great!! I’ve been here twice and they had a different menu every time. I’d highly recommend you visit thyme for a cute little date or to get good/innovative cocktails in general. -
Review 13 (2023-03-10 - Rating: 5)
This is (and will hopefully continue to be) one of my favorite cocktail bars in NYC.I first came across it a few months ago while I was really beginning to explore the NYC craft cocktail bar scene with one of my friends. I definitely had reservations about the place because Im quite averse to Instagrammy bars which makes cocktails that look fantastic and taste awful. Im happy to say that Thyme bar is NOT one of those places.Every drink Ive ever had there tastes as good or even better than it looks. In fact, my favorite cocktail in all of NYC is made here: the Light Opium (shown in my pictures with the candle in it). Thyme is one of the few bars that I feel justifies a >$20/drink price tag because theyre all (in my experience) unique, well-balanced, delicious, and have dazzling presentation. On top of that, every server is attentive and very knowledgeable about all of the cocktails on the menu.Overall: GO HERE. One of the best craft cocktail bars in NYC. -

Thyme Bar is a classy speakeasy located at 20 W 23rd St, Cellar, New York, NY 10010, they got the most unique innovative cocktails with creative & fancy presentation, developed and directed by Jeremy Le Blanche.I have been to Thyme bar many times, their fancy cocktails always surprises me, never disappointed. I went with group of photographers and influencers, they have updated their cocktails once a while, the amazing taste and presentation made me in love with this spot. We always got the friendly welcoming experience with the bartenders and staff. Hope to see you there.Note: Suggest make reservations before going there, space and seating are limited. -
Review 15 (2022-05-17 - Rating: 5)
Best cocktails in town period!! The drinks are innovative and an experience in a cool intimate speakeasy spot under a French bakery. The bar bites are also very good and the dessert on point. My go to spot to bring folks from out of town. -
Review 16 (2025-01-03 - Rating: 4)
Original cocktails from a year or two ago were far more interesting than this current state, but still tasty. I’m sad to see the content has shifted so much, but the bar is still great. -
Review 17 (2023-03-03 - Rating: 5)
Love it! A mixologist friend of ours recommended that we try this cool speakeasy during our visit to nyc and were so happy we did. Thyme is a cool, dark, intimate cellar space, all the people there are super nice and the food and cocktails are awesome. My wife and I opted for the $95 tasting menu and between the two of us we the Jagged In Mexico, Gynoecium Old Fashioned, Ambre Nuit and the A Trip to Agrabah for cocktails. All were very creative, presented beautifully and very delicious. Our two faves were Jagged In Mexico and the Old Fashioned - the hints of peanut butter & butterscotch were awesome. For food we had the Thyme Bar Slider, Habanero Spicy Chicken, Mushroom Arancini, Truffle Fries, Lobster and the cheeses. We didnt want dessert and our server let us sub food instead which was very nice. All the dishes were very good and our faves are the Habanero Chicken, Truffle Fries and Mushroom Arancini. We both thought it was well worth the price and well definitely come again. Special shout out to our servers Phoebe, Cody & Christian. Go! -

What a place. The cocktails are unique, but the atmosphere is familiar - welcoming, positive, and comfortable. Thank you Vibe for your energy, Alexander for your creativity and vision, and Martin for your professionalism. Definitely worth a visit! -
Review 19 (2021-03-20 - Rating: 4)
Thyme Bars cocktails were on another level, the complexity and presentation were absolutely amazing. The service was just ok. The pacing of the courses was a little off, but I also get it b/c we had a larger party but we would have loved to have had a cocktail with our dinner. We were also sit up on a bench against a row of lights and kept hitting our heads the entire night which definitely took away from the experience. Which is why I gave this 4 stars instead of 5. I’m sure it would be a much better experience as a party of 2 versus a party of 5. -
Review 20 (2024-05-05 - Rating: 5)
All drinks have fun presentation and experienced bar tenders. I asked them to make a custom drink with ube syrup and it was the best cocktail I had. We call it Uber Moto -
Review 21 (2023-08-21 - Rating: 5)
A fun speakeasy hidden under a coffee shop. This place is more than just a cocktail bar its an experience. The bartenders here are passionate about their craft, and it shows. This place is a must visit for a romantic night out. -
Review 22 (2023-09-01 - Rating: 5)
Thyme bar is an incredible speakeasy in NYC. Though the venue wasnt easy to find, the thrill of the search only added to the excitement of the evening. The cocktails were the real standout here - the bartenders are true artists, creating some of the most creative and delicious drinks Ive ever had. And the tasting menu had just the right portion sizes, with each dish beautifully crafted and thoughtfully presented. The level of service was top-notch as well - the staff were attentive and knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu and making great recommendations.I would highly recommend this speakeasy to anyone looking for an unforgettable night out in NYC. Its truly a hidden gem, and the perfect spot to impress your friends or a special someone. -
Review 23 (2024-01-22 - Rating: 4)
Cocktails are strong 4/5. You can certainly find better tasting cocktails in the city. Presentation 4.5/5.I like the atmosphere here, although noisy.Bartender was appropriately aloof. Not very personal. Playing it a little too cool to be relatable, but we still had a really nice time. -
Review 24 (2024-12-09 - Rating: 5)
We really enjoyed the entire experience. Alex and Martin are wonderful people and great bartenders. Alex is mesmerizing to watch. Coming from Florida, we frequent NYC and have yet to find our “place”. But, tonight we’ve made a life long connection here. We will be back many, many more times. Thank you! -
Review 25 (2022-08-20 - Rating: 4)
The creativity is definitely there, but given the steep price and that the drink flavor combinations are a bit… intense, it’s not my favorite bar experience. The food options are a bit stingy too, the meat on the sliders barely covers 1/3 of the bread. -
Review 26 (2020-11-04 - Rating: 5)
Came across this place because I wanted to take a special person on a date . This place caught my eye in Flatiron District. It was very exclusive and seemed dope. We both did the Emergence Package which included signature drinks and 2 entrees. Drinks were amazing were different from any other restaurant. I am guessing their main focus is the drinks.I definitely recommend this place . You wont be disappointed!!Ambiance- 10/10Service - 10/10Covid Precautions in PlaceIndoor and Outdoor as well -
Review 27 (2023-12-17 - Rating: 5)
My friend and I stopped in here for a quick drink before dinner and had a lovely time! The service was quick and their drink recommendations matched our preferences wonderfully. I wish we could’ve tried more, because the drinks we had had an amazing presentation and were balanced wonderfully. Definitely a place to come with friends, or try to stop by if you’re on the area! -
Review 28 (2024-12-09 - Rating: 5)
Alexander and Martin made the best cocktails weve had in NYC. Vibe was the most inviting host. We cant wait to come back and try more unique drinks and food. -
Review 29 (2022-05-07 - Rating: 5)
This place really lived up to the hype. I have never had cocktails like the ones we had here. It was truly such a unique experience and everyone that took care of us were so kind and really took their time to explain the menu to us and help us choose some of their amazing cocktails. Not to mention the place is beautiful. It has an upscale speakeasy vibe.Alex, Jameson, and Nigel do an incredible job making everyone feel welcome and informed on the menu. We will definitely be back! -
Review 30 (2022-02-06 - Rating: 5)
An unforgettable experience, beyond just how delicious the drinks and food were. The tasting menu was fantastic and well worth the price - I highly recommend the Hana Ni Arashi. The presentation was second to none. Our server, Cody, could not have been more friendly, helpful, and attentive in what felt like a very exclusive and intimidating high-end bar at first. We will be back, undoubtedly. -
Review 31 (2022-03-15 - Rating: 5)
A great experience that anyone would enjoy.I came with a friend and we should have made reservations but sitting at the bar was not bad at all.The decor is intimate, classy with a feminine touch, and chic. The music was great (top 40s + hip hop) until the speakers broke so it was music-less for around 45 minutes. I personally think music can make or break a vibe. Then a hero came in with Bluetooth speakers and saved the night and played a more hotel lobby vibes playlist.I ordered the Noir and loved it- it tasted fragrant- which I typically hate but this was interesting and shocked my tastebuds.I also tasted the Flower Bomb and loved it too, my favorite of both. It was more on the sweet side with the tiniest hint of spice. My friend also ordered the drink that comes on a swing and we both loved just the fact that we were drinking from a swinging cup.My friend and I loved the boujee atmosphere, the friendly staff and just watching the bartender create literal art before our eyes.I am thinking of switching all my cups at home to the Noir cup, just to boujee up my place.I recommend making reservations and coming with a group of highly visual people who love to be impressed with new experiences. -
Review 32 (2021-07-29 - Rating: 5)
This speakeasy is amazing. Located in Manhattan its in an old bomb shelter. They offer upstairs seating with a more of a dining vibe. The downstairs seating is more par with speakeasys. I highly suggest dining downstairs, the vibe is amazing. Codys service was top tier. He is super fun, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable of the menu. His recommendations were spot on. This was a perfect dinner. My advice is go for the Experience when you visit. It includes drinks, diner and desert. You can book your tickets in advance and save some money. The mixology artistry drinks are truly a work of art. Everything brought to the table was social media worthy. The food vibe was more than a 5 star experience. I will be back on my next visit to NYC. -
Review 33 (2024-09-23 - Rating: 5)
Beyond how cool this place is and how fascinating the drinks are the crew working this place are amazing. I got to chat with Cody a little bit while waiting for the rest of my party and he was so nice and funny! I can’t remember my waiters name but he was also amazing and so friendly and even joined in on some interesting conversations with us. I will definitely be back. They were super accommodating for one of our guests who does not drink which was really nice. Definitely visit if you’re ever in the area. -

Really cool subterranean cocktail bar. Inventive cocktails presented in some of the coolest vessels you’ve ever seen. Drinks are pricey but when you observe the work that goes into each drink, you see why. -

Review 47 (2024-12-22 - Rating: 5)
I loveeee this place I’ve been going every time I visit NY since 2022. They’ve changed the menu since my first visit but I’ve had a lot of awesome bespoke (off-menu) cocktails based on my favorite liquor (mezcal!!), flavor profiles, mood, etc. If you are lucky enough to sit next to Alex, the head bartender, you will be in for a show as he crafts his art in front of you - it’s seriously such an experience - my friend and I were only going to stay for one drink and ended up staying until last call and inviting others to come join us. We had so much fun and every drink was a hit. Coming from LA, I don’t always get to have a nice craft cocktail (esp. now that everyone is batching everything) and always look forward to visiting when I’m here! This is by far the most creative and experience-centric bar I’ve ever been to anywhere. -

Review 50 (2021-11-14 - Rating: 5)
A must try. The drinks were amazing. We did the experience and it def was an experience. My sister and I were talking about it for days. The peanut butter bourbon was my favorite. I went home trying to figure out how to make or buy my own. Lol. -

Review 58 (2024-06-05 - Rating: 5)
I was lucky enough to walk in without reservations on Tuesday night. Last time I tried my luck on a Thursday evening and was told that the wait is over 2 hrs.Service is friendly and warm, which is rare in a NYC speakeasy to be honest. The manager was knowledgeable and introduced their famous cocktail to me.I ordered🌟Agrabah: really not to my taste. Heavy hint of mint and I hardly taste pistachio.🌟🌟🌟Corpse reviver: in my opinion, this is a citrusy gin with a hint of chamomile and the absinthe made it stronger.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Noir: my favorite. If you dont like scotch, please skip this one.Their drink presentation is nice and beautiful. Bartenders look very experienced! Ill revisit if they invent new cocktails! -
Review 59 (2023-10-02 - Rating: 5)
Drinks are not only gorgeously presented and garnished, but they are effortlessly creative & include an entire interactive and sensory experience. if you love craft cocktails this is the spot. the staff was so warm and really added to the already cozy ambiance. april the bartender was busy but made an effort to chat with us and answer cocktail questions and her recommendations all solid. will absolutely be back next time im in the city. -
Review 60 (2022-10-10 - Rating: 5)

Review 61 (2023-03-20 - Rating: 5)
Really outstanding cocktail bar. Bartenders and staff are super knowledgeable about their drinks and the techniques used in their super creative execution. This is an experience by itself: a place to sit and sip on 1 or 2 expensive drinks that youll remember forever, not a quick drink before dinner. Would absolutely recommend and wiki certainly be returning!Suggest getting there right when it opens, its very popular! -
Review 62 (2023-11-02 - Rating: 5)
TLDR: Thyme Bar is worth the stop if you love intricate and tasty cocktails. Provided you can get in! If you opt for the reservation with the tasting menu, thats the most surefire way to visit. The drink with the dragon pot is awesome.Ive only been once but boy was it good. Its small and the speakeasy feel underneath the bakery is pretty cool. The drinks are well thought out, quite intentional in flavors and presentation.Every subsequent visit its been too full or the wait has been too long but till this day - one of those cocktail lounges I think about often. -

Review 75 (2023-04-11 - Rating: 5)
A little on the on pricey side but well worth it for a fancy date or fun time out with friends. Next level creative and just the right ambience. Note there is no standing they only allow as many visitors as they have seats for (roughly 20 people). If you can swing a reservation for the tasting menu ~ $80 with 2 drinks and some food it might be a good way to go. Also worth calling out the service was awesome, super friendly people. -
Review 76 (2022-05-22 - Rating: 4)
Definitely worth a try, especially for the presentation of the drinks! Had the tasting menu, which is a great value. 2 drinks, an item of food, and dessert. Service was good. VERY strict 90 minute time frame. I told the waiter I was, savoring my drink and he responded with, you only have 10 minutes left to do that. Was a bit turned off with that response, but all in all a great find in Flatiron! -
Review 77 (2022-02-18 - Rating: 4)
This is a really special spot. The aesthetic is everything. The drinks are well-thought out and intricately designed and presented. This is a spot you go to with 1-2 other people max. Its an intimate space. Couples prevail. Go with a reservation or expect to wait 30 minutes to 2+ hours on a weekend evening. The bar is downstairs and upstairs is a waiting area and where you check-in with the host.Expect to pay. This is on the upper end of the cocktail spectrum in terms of price. The taste of the cocktails were a bit hit or miss for me personally, but this is up for debate. Its an enjoyable place, and I recommend it. -

Small, but cozy and intimate bar serving delicious cocktails. The beef sliders and chicken tenders are excellent. If you like sweet and fruity cocktails, you will love Cloud 9 and hate Abstract Mandarin.REVIEW FROM 7 MONTHS AGO (3-stars review): Cozy and intimate bar serving creative cocktails. I had the abstract mandarin and didnt like it very much. I did enjoy the lobster canapés. Service was excellent. -

We did the tasting menu and really enjoyed the experience. There was a small shot/drink to start, two fancy drinks, a small appetizer, and a dessert (five courses per person). Taste wise - We loved one of the four drinks between the two of us, thought two of them were good (not amazing), and didnt care much for one of them. We were really happy with the food we got (lobster canape, spicy chicken, chocolate mousse cake and the coffee zuccotto). The coffee dessert was my favorite - loved it so much. Presentation wise - this is really what made it fun and interesting. You dont know what your drink is going to look like until it comes out. Some of them have dry ice and look like theyre smoking, one hangs from the ceiling, some have flowers - its all something unexpected. The location is a little hard to find if you dont know where to find it, but thats part of the charm. Overall, its a fun spot to try out. It is a bit on the expensive side, especially if you end up not liking one of the drinks, but its still something different and the atmosphere is worth it for a special occasion. -

Went there with my wife in May 2023 as part of our date night and it was a great experience. The customer service was top-notch and the drinks were amazing. If youre walking in without a reservation, expect about a 45-minute wait time, though we managed to only wait 20 minutes as we killed time at a nearby park. One thing to keep it mind is pricing. In NYC everything is pricey but a standard cocktail will run you about $20-$25 on average so just something to be mindful of depending on your budget. Overall, worth experiencing at least once. -

Can I just announce that they have the best tomato soup Ive ever tried in my life?! If I lived here, I can guarantee Id be ordering soup from them every single week. If you dont keep an eye out for it, you could pass it up on the street easily. My friends and I did the Emergent Experience, and it is extremely worth it. The drinks? Amazing and beautifully put together. Our waiter was extremely kind, helpful, and patient. It was a really clean set-up, as well as aesthetically pleasing in the downstairs part. Id more than happily come here again, and recommend it to others in the area! -

Wonderful speakeasy in Flatiron. Great drinks served in Instagram worthy glasses. Planning to go back soon to try more of them.Service is top notch. Our table wasnt available when we arrived (prior couple were taking their time finishing) so they gave us complimentary champagne while we waited and comped us a round of drinks. -

Due to scheduling etc..I booked this on a night where I also had a play. I unfortunately had to rush myself. Otherwise I would definitely come back here. I thought the food was good(appetizers) and the drinks were phenomenal. Our waitress was awesome. The location is limited space but well decorated and lovely. This is an experience and I think the tasting the way to go on this one. -

Alexander is the best bartender! Amazing food, amazing service, amazing atmosphere. The churros are out of this world. The truffle Parmesan fries one of the bests I had. The drink presentation is something like I’ve never seen. -

Ordered four drinks with my friend while we were waiting for other friends. This place made speakeasy to a new experience although the price was not that easy going. However, it’s still worth to try. Around 30 bucks for 1 drink. Nice presentation and good experience. Better reserve before you good if you wanna avoid a long wait. Service is good. -

Pork belly on the BLT made it terrific! I wish it was different bread, but otherwise best ever. Mischa was a great bartender and introduced the cranberry-soda member of our party to some great nonalcoholic options that they have. We definitely enjoyed. -

We forgot to make reservations for a Saturday night but figured we would try to walk-in. When we got here the staff told us there was no availability but there would likely be a table open in about an hour. I gave her my phone number and she said she would text us. After about 40 minutes I got the text that our table was ready. When we went back we had our vaccine cards and IDs checked and then were led down a set of stairs to the bar.So Thyme bar is known for their cocktail presentations which are a bit off the norm. On their menu they even indicate how elaborate a cocktail set-up is. My friend and I were set up at the bar so we were able to see a lot of the preparations. For ourselves, we decided to start with the more elaborate to the less elaborate. The cocktails ranged from about $18 to $30.For the first round we had the The Chatpata Fizz and the Primrose & Rye. The Chatpata Fizz started off with a lot of smoke and was super impressive looking when they placed it in front of me. The drink was refreshing and came with a piece of crispy salmon skin. The only problem was the metal straw was a little difficult to maneuver in the strange stacked pebble shaped glass. My friends Primrose & Rye looked more like a table decoration but was also an interesting drink. For the second round, I had the Bloomist Cloche which was much easier to drink than my last one. The ice cube was turned into a popsicle with chocolate. My friend had the Gynoecium Old Fashioned that was a really unique tasting old fashioned and came with a little dessert. For the last round, we decided to go for the more basic drinks. I really liked the HWYL cocktail but it was too tall. The glass it was in was about a foot tall and then you used a straw. I had to keep tilting it downwards to try to drink it. As for the Eucalyptus Watercolor, when reading the description I thought it was too strange but it blended nicely and nothing stuck out as a weird flavor. All in all, we spent way too much here on cocktails but it was a very unique experience. We also order fries which were crisp on the outside but very soft on the inside.I think there was also a 90 minute time limit as the waiter very courteously informed us as we neared it. So if you decide to come here, keep that in mind. Also, it is a very intimate setting so I would not recommend it for large groups. They would probably have to split you up anyways -

What a brilliant surprise! Dont be fooled by the incredible and creative presentation of the cocktails. It is not a pretentious hipster bar 🙂 staff is friendly and professional and food was delicious, led by Chris behind the bar. A group of six of us enjoyed it as an after work event. We will definitely be back! -

Loved our time at thyme bar! The way the cocktails were curated was out of this world, plus our service was amazing. Jameson and Phoebe deserve a raise and more as they were the perfect pair to guide our way through this enchanting one of a kind experience. Will definitely be returning. -

When it comes to NYC, a lot of cocktail places are style over substance. You get a sugary boozy cup of slop and they want $30.Not Thyme. This place is special. We went for the Tasting Menu at $85 dollar each - for the service, food and drink, truly outstanding value for money, ridiculously inexpensive.I dont want to spoil what you get but the amuse bouche is truly something that gets your taste buds ready for your 2 curated cocktails and great, really delicious bites. Service was attentive, informative and not thirsty at all. Absolutely perfect. Great ambiance in the room and a lot of people had booked, leaving any walk-ins with a 2 hour wait. Trust me, its worth your wait. Music was a bit here-and-there but it was at a good level so you could still have conversation. The hubbub in the room was nice and Im merely nitpicking!Dont waste any more Thyme, book a table now, go all in for the Tasting Menu, and you will be richly rewarded and super satisfied! -

One of the interesting bar in midtown. Definitely recommended to make reservation ahead of time as it’s very crowded bar. Drinks are very creative and fun. Tho there are not much of choices. Perfect place for a date or with just one or two close friends. Food here is not great but it ok. It’s very Instagram-perfect spot for sure. I honestly knows a lot better bars in Tokyo but this is great choice within Manhattan. -

Highy recommend trying the Tasting Menu which can only be done via reservations. Its cocktail themed and a unique experience. As for the cocktails themselves, some are a little bit over the top, and some come with so many ingredients it all just bleeds together but overall a positive experience. Would recommend Queen of the Night as an all time favorite cocktail. All food items are snack sized but can be shared among 2-3 people. Lobster rolls, sliders and mushroom arancelli are all wins. -

Classy speakeasy feel with cocktails delighting all five senses! Clever riffs on familiar standards and inspired new concoctions! Highly recommend making reservations as the space is intimate and seating is limited. If you want a more elaborate drink, be sure to find one on the menu with the sprig symbol... The bigger the more elaborate. -

Review 102 (2022-06-23 - Rating: 5)
Magical. Thyme Bar is magical.During our last visit to NYC, my husband suggested we swing by to grab drinks after dinner. I had not done any research on this place prior to our arrival, so I was blown away by the swanky, underground cocktail speakeasy. The space is beautiful, chic, and intimate. Perfect for dates and small group gatherings. I felt like I had been taken back in time to the 1920s in this softly lit, historic pre-war cellar. We got a coveted seat right at the bar - ideal for a bar like this where you can watch the bartenders in action. What Thyme Bar is known for is showing cocktails through art with botanical elements. Many of the cocktails are influenced by art and/or movement, and theres a unique emphasis on the visual component of cocktails. The menu is split into Le Jardin and Floriography. Drinks range from $16-22 for Le Jardin drinks and $25-30 for Floriography. While all the cocktails are crafted gorgeously, the ones under Floriography focus more intently on the presentation aspect.I chose the Hana Ni Arashi (Flower in a Storm) after a recommendation from our bartender. This is Iichiko Saiten sochu, ginseng infused Suntori Toki whisky, London Essence ginger beer, kummel, and lime. My husband selected the Chatpata Fizz, which is Ilegal Joven mezcal, chatpata soda (jasmine, wasabi, green tabasco, smoked salt), pandan, and lime. The Hana Ni Arashi - which comes in a teapot and teacup - is smoky, a bit spicy, and refreshing. Its Thyme Bars take on a Moscow Mule, and my goodness is it invigorating and complex. The Chatpata Fizz is served in a terrarium, decorated with moss, and houses a glass contraption with three sections inside. You can drink from the bottom and middle sections. This drink is smoky, spicy, and sweet all at once. All around us, drinks were being carefully presented to customers. Two of the cocktails on the menu, Thé Noir and Coconino Rain, were hung in front of the guests from a decorative ring secured to the ceiling. The creativity of Thyme Bar is unparalleled to anything Ive seen. Your senses will awaken here and be taken on this visually and gustatory stunning journey.Service was also superb. Our bartender was helpful, attentive, and friendly. It made our experience that much more spectacular. I can confidently say that we will be back at Thyme Bar anytime were in New York. -

Really impressed with the drinks and the aesthetics with which the drinks are presented!!! We tried the The Noir , Coconnino Rain and Flower Bomb. For me personally Id rate The Noir as first choice, the coconnino rain as second and then the flower bomb... The taste and aesthetic for both of these were great.. Id say not so much impressed with the Flower Bomb.We also tried Coffee Zuchotto dessert. And Id say one of the best coffee dessert I have tried in a while.. -

Now this is truly the definition of a speakeasy as I literally could not find the place initially. The doorway is not marked and there is a curtain that covers the view inside. The location is underground in the cellar level next to a popular restaurant in the Flatiron area.Once you have traversed the stairway you are transported to a very chill space. Its very dimly lit and the ambience is quite relaxing. There is of course a full bar with plenty of seating as well as options for table service. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks and and menu items. I had visited after work when I heard about the new place. It was a memorable first visit.Since it was a speakeasy it was natural to get a drink. The one that caught my attention was called The Bird In The Hand (mezcal, bael fruit, lemongrass, tamarind, birds beak chili and orange shaved ice). It was a refreshing cocktail. The drink menu as a whole is very extensive and impressive. There is also a menu for food which I did not get a chance to try. Luckily I was able to see and taste their unique dessert. It is called The Cigar and comes in covered in smoke. It looks very much like a real cigar and the smoke makes it smell like one. However it is edible! There is a very tasty filling...like tiramisu when you break open the edible shell.Thyme Bar certainly is a spot that is both casual and intimate. It is a place to go after work to unwind or for a nice time with friends. The staff was very polite and attentive. Since I was mostly at the bar area, it was the bartenders that took care of me. Special mentions go to Colin and Kevin. The food menu is something I would definitely want to go back and try. The prices here can be a deterrent but please remember that you are also paying for the great experience as well. -

The experience at Thyme was fantastic. Thank you to Phoebe for being a great conversationalist. She explained us the drinks and their inspirations. Overall the experience was worth the flavours that hit my mouth.- welcome drink, amouse-bouche, was in the shape of an oyster (fresh and minty flavour, great presentation)- The Noir - first drink had a subtle saffron taste. Very very very easily dissolves in your mouth- Lobster canapé- HOLY F#*% this was really good. This was fu#@!ng good.- Trip to Agrabah - second drink, Moroccan green tea inspired drink. As someone who had backpacked through Morocco, this was the most perfect blend of tea and alcohol. Traditionally, Morocco is an Islamic country and it does not have a huge alcoholic culture, but if there was ever a national drink, this would be it.- Blood Orange Chocolate Mousse Cake- this was the dessert to fu$&ing die for! The cake was soft and the flavours were amazing.- Crème Brûlée - just fu&$@!ng get it. Trust me.- ask for the wasabi white chocolate ;) (not pictured) -

Cool cocktails in a underground speakeasy type bar. The hostess was friendly on arrival, but the table waiter/ bar tender was miserable and slightly condescending. Not sure if was end of shift attitude, but it was annoying. Nevertheless, the rest was a great experience with great cocktails. Id recommend just hopefully without the same waiter🙈 -

From the taste, the look/ presentation & the smell - ALL your senses will be tingling and craving for more. 10000% recommend coming here.Jameson is theee man. I went here for a work celebration/ dinner and the drinks were phenomenal and his recommendations were perfect & spot on.We did the prefix menu which gives you a lot of bang for your buck. I LOVED the drinks & dessert and my favorite bite was the truffle fries. The team does an amazing job at dietary restrictions too. My only recommendation to the team is to serve enough chip/olive/bite with the drinks that come with them. Its hard to have 1 chip last an entire drink - nobodys got that kind of self control. -
