    Got the seared salmon and it had a great crispy skin with nice flaky flesh. The succotash was a lot more brothy than I expected but it was a pleasant accompaniment to the salmon and acted like a sauce. Satisfying and not too heavy for lunch.The vibe of the place was very cozy. Gets lots of sunlight and is very roomy. The space allowed for conversation without too much background noise.

    Upland is always a favorite when Im in NYC. The open, spacious, and bright area is welcoming, with good-sized tables that make dining comfortable. The service is consistently top-notch. I once dined alone while traveling for work, and they kindly offered me a free ice cream with my meal, which was a lovely gesture. The portions are generous (as you’d expect in America), so theres no need to over-order, and the quality is good.

    Phenomenal bartender and great table service. Everything we ate was delicious; they serve a wonderful potato bread complementary for the table. We tried many of the vegetarian dishes and surprisingly, the margarita pizza blew us away. Large restaurant but vibey, good tunes and lighting.

    My friend and I stopped were looking for a place to get lunch during a break, and happened to walk past Upland. We came in and were greeted by the host who sat us promptly.Our servers were very attentive and constantly refilled our water and checked up on us. I don’t really get how the menu works, if it was seasonal or not, but we got the tartare for apps and a burger and salad for mains (my friend wasn’t that hungry).The tartare, you can pass on. It wasn’t all that great. The burger was great and filling also loved the fries that came with it. Also nothing too special about the salad.My one complaint, the food took too long. Honestly got a little irritated with how slow our mains took, but our servers were very apologetic and did their best, so what can I really complain about.Overall, the place is fine, but I probably wouldn’t come again.

    Cool restaurant with interesting menu. Good service. Supposedly pizza is the popular item, waiter did not push any main entrees. Duck wings he said were popular and they were good, I was reluctant never having duck and really did not want it but was good. Tasted more like a rib than chicken. Rigatoni bolognaise was good. Burnt cheesecake was excellent. Bread was yummy.

    Wonderful restaurant with such great staff. Rachel and Megan took such good care of me, despite the fact I walked in shortly before closing.Aside from the service, the pizza and wine were fantastic. The Nutter Butter is the type of thing you write home about. Thank you so much!

    Once I walked in, I thought the place looked so cute. I love the atmosphere!!!The service was amazing. Our server was super patient and answered all of our questions.As a table, we shared the Margherita Pizza and Little Gem Salad. So good and flavorful.I got the Cacio e Pepe. Loved it. Perfect amount of seasoning and appreciated the al dente cook.Beautiful and tasty desserts too!My whole table loved their food. We were all thoroughly impressed. Will definitely be back!!

    Yum!! Great food here, good service, and nice ambience indoor and out. We really enjoyed the sausage kale pizza. Also the potato bread was AMAZING! The servers were always quick and good about refilling our drinks. I wish they had more items from their brunch menu on their dinner menu, specifically the burger. But still a great experience.

    Solid midtown brunch spot. Highly recommend the buttermilk pancakes. They’re quite big so it’s good to share. Eggs In Hell was delicious. The Spanish and Feta Omelette was very good too!

    My family and I went there to celebrate my brother’s birthday. The food was spectacular and incredible. Definitely must come back to try other dishes. Everything from the front staff, to the wait staff and all the cooks in the kitchen. ☺️ we were blown away with the warm and delightful attention. We appreciate EVERYONE’S hard work into making our dinner so special. Thank you 😊. FYI the Crispy duck wings was my favorite 😍 but we ate it all before I could take a picture to share.

    Came here for brunch and wanted to try the burger! It did not disappoint. Id say its one of the best burgers in the city! Wife had the steak and eggs which was cooked to perfection. The donuts were ok, flavor was good but kind of dry. All in all a great experience. Highly recommended!

    Man if I tell you I drive two hours just to go get these pancakes 🥞 you’d think I lie. But absolutely Not. These are by far the best pancake I ever had, light, Fluffy, Savory and Delicious 🤤! The service at Upland is never a disappointment. The first time I went there Molly helped us and this time Chris was our server and he was nothing less than Exceptional. His attentiveness and willingness to go above and beyond to ensure you get that personable experience, was perfect. He ensure to connect with us from the moment we walked in until we left the table. We we’re not rushed and we also had great food. The brunch burger was amazing. The skirt steak was good it wasn’t the best I’ve had so I’ll be looking forward to try something else. We saw those eye catching donuts 🍩 and we wanted to try them and so far far they’re like the twins of the amazing pancakes from there.

    This restaurant is good, but nothing extraordinary for the price. I came here for brunch on a Saturday with friends- each of us got an entree and coffee and we shared a bottle of sparkling wine.     Amazing Engagement Celebration Dinner at UplandWe recently dined at Upland to celebrate our engagement, and it was a night to remember. We arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation, and since the restaurant isn’t very large, we found ourselves standing near the bar while waiting to be seated. Unfortunately, no tables were available earlier, so we had to wait until our scheduled time. It’s always a bit awkward ordering drinks while standing near others seated at the bar, so we skipped that part. This was the only small downside of the evening.Once seated, however, the experience quickly became exceptional. We were escorted to arguably the best seat in the restaurant and greeted with a handwritten card from the Upland staff—such a thoughtful and personal touch that made us feel truly special. Upland has this unique ability to make everything feel slower and more relaxed, which was a welcome change from the usual fast-paced NYC dining scene. Our server gave us space and time to savor the moment, which we really appreciated.On to the food and drinks! We both started with the Omarango cocktail, made with vodka, mango, ginger, and lime—sweet, tart, and absolutely delicious. Then, the bread. Oh my goodness, the bread. Whatever your dietary preferences, just eat the bread. It was the most delicious we’ve ever had, and yes, we ordered a second loaf.For our mains, we each had a pasta dish—rigatoni and pappardelle. Both were perfectly cooked, with just the right balance of pasta, meat, and parmigiano. The flavors were rich and comforting. As a surprise treat, the restaurant brought out a side of crispy sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts, which we hadn’t ordered but now insist that everyone should. It was a standout dish that took us by surprise—seriously, I almost licked the plate clean.To top off the night, we were treated to glasses of champagne to celebrate our engagement and were handed dessert menus. I knew what I wanted before the server even set the menu down: the Chocolate Layer Mousse Cake with coffee ice cream. I had spotted it earlier and mentally committed to it, and it was the perfect finish to our meal. Rich, decadent, and absolutely worth saving room for.Overall, our experience at Upland was amazing, and we highly recommend it for any special occasion or date night. The service, food, and thoughtful touches made it a night we’ll never forget. Run, don’t walk, to Upland!

    The bread is as good as everyone says but the butter didn’t meet those expectations, it was bland and needed more salt. Our appetizers were amazing, I would come back solely for the crispy duck wings. Unfortunately the pastas were pretty forgettable, the Rigatoni was undercooked and stuck to my teeth.

    Fantastic date spot! Theres a bar area with good cocktails in the front, and then restaurant style seating for groups and couples in the back.The steak wasnt my favorite. Its a high end restaurant so theyve gotta offer high end entres - but that was not the best choice. The pizza was fantastic! 4 slices. Slightly larger than a personal pie. Very light, pillowy, restaurant style pizza. The duck wings fell off the bone. Interesting taste. The drink was good.The food was all delicious but the real standout was the layout and the service. Very professional and accommodating wait staff and bartenders. Weird observation - but the lighting was also really good for date night.

    First time here and it definitely won’t be my last… Food was amazing… Moved to the city a few years ago and haven’t found a spot with good NYC pizza until Upland. They surpassed my expectations. The drinks were amazing and the staff was very respectful and attentive to customers. The atmosphere was insane, it was about a 10 minute wait period to get seated. Robust the entire night. I will be back without a doubt

    Wow wow wow! This place was so delicious and incredible. Had such a good meal. The space is so beautiful and easy. Felt very comfortable and had a great time. Staff was super nice.     I think for me there was nothing memorable about Upland that would draw me to return but also nothing bad to be noted. Its a comfortable modern space that doesn’t feel crowded. We started with two cocktails that were tasty. We shared the beef tartare and little gem salad for appetizers. . The tartare was our best bite. The addition of the puffed rice sounds odd but added great texture and a hint of flavor. The salad was good but very light on flavor from any dressing and very heavy on cheese. We shared the skirt steak for our main. It was seasoned very well but served medium rare when ordered medium. We had the donuts as our dessert. All were tasty but our favorite was the raspberry. I was disappointed they weren’t served warm but in fairness thar was just my assumption that they would be, the menu didn’t say they would be. As I stated a solid choice but not memorable for me.

    Wish i could give more than 5 stars! This place was immaculate in all categories, service was amazing at the bar by Nicole especially being observant of my girlfriend due to her shellfish allergy. We stopped in for quick lunch but were quickly impressed by all this spot has to offer. We got a couple drinks to start that were well made and strong. We followed up with Buratta appetizer and little gem salad, both very impressive and recommended by bartender Nicole. We finished off with vodka pizza which was bomb. So happy to find this hidden gem on a whim and will most definitely be back!

Nonetheless, the service made up for flaw.

    What a pleasant surprise. Beautiful environment with the best ambiance Ive seen in a while. Nicely decorated . Feels cozy & warm. The view to the open kitchen is very chic. The staff is very friendly & accommodating. Need to look a little cleaner but great staff none the less. The food, for lunch was delicious! The falafel was yummy but the pasta, wow! Fried Chicken sandwiche was tasty & the fries just perfect. The pickle was pretty bad. Soft & not really pickled.     Food was very delicious and fresh! I and the jalapeño and cheddar biscuit sandwich and the biscuit was soo fluffy and soft! Wish I could taste more jalepeno it was very mild and not at all spicy so if you were afraid to get it because of the jalapeño it wasnt very present. The drink menu for cocktails is small so if youre looking for a place with an extensive cocktail menu this isnt it but the wine list was rather extensive. Would come back for the biscuit. Got the affogato for dessert...that was pretty good as well but the coffee container was really hot I wish the staff had mentioned that before I attempted to pour the coffee

    Californian-inspired cuisine with dim lighting and decor. Crispy mushroom is a sight for sore eyes, and huge considering it is an appetizer. Steak was probably the best tasting steak Ive had in NYC (considering the price point - only $36, which is a steal for steak here).I came 40 minutes early for my table and they said that they could accommodate me within 15. Think they forgot about me though, because I had to go back up to the desk and ask - but then I was seated promptly.

    We celebrated our engagement here with our families for a brunch. My fiance was able to customize a pre frixe menu and the food was incredible and we still talk about the spread (pancakes, little gem salad, omelette, cheeseburger were some highlights). They also served us with the best cheesecake Ive had in a while.We had a lovely booth in the back and the staff could not have been more helpful and kind - it felt like we were celebrating with them. The atmosphere was bustling but not loud and we could still hear across the table. Highly recommend for either a celebration or meal in a bright and pleasant environment.

    The Hospitality was on point Rachel was our server and she was so nice to me and my friend I felt the atmosphere was nice the food was good despite me not liking the duck but I will definitely come back because it was spot on service and I will definitely recommend to my friends and if you have never been a must. And we love the setup of the restaurant the bar like close by the entrance of the restaurant. we ordered the duck wings and the skirt steak and the salmon everything was to my liking but just the duck to me was missing something but overall great experience great energy and a must to come back to thanks for the food Upland.The Hostess was nice also she was very welcoming I forgot to get her name but she had glasses but very nice.

    Truly one of the best restaurants in Manhattan and the country. Making a reservation is totally the move, but, on the Sunday night I went, it wouldnt have been much of an issue. Great cocktail menu. To start, the potato bread is delicious. Next, our margherita pizza was super good. My friend and I loved our entrees (octopus and the cacio e pepe) and left Upland raving about how delicious of a meal we had. As they are up for a Beard award, make your reservations ASAP.

    Had lunch here recently and was very pleased with the entire experience. The staff were attentive and helpful. Everyone from our server to the busser were on top of their game. The ambiance was warm and inviting (especially appreciated on a chilly winter day!).There were so many enticing menu options, yet we decided to split the vodka pizza and the lobster cavatelli. Collectively this was the perfect portion for the two of us, and both items were absolutely delicious!This restaurant was very close to our hotel, which is partially why I selected it, but the food and experience was enjoyable enough that Id be happy to seek it out on a future visit even if we arent staying nearby.

    Very good bustling dinner spot, we had a fairly large party and ordered most of the appetizers as a tapas type meal. Octopus and burrata were standouts, pizzas were very good also.     Wow, just WOW! Incredibly tasty food and a great space. Beautiful restaurant matched by equally as good food. The price is also reasonable for the quality of the food and space. I got the pappardelle and it was one of the best Ive had in New York. The service was good but it could be a bit better, for example they forgot to bring out our bread and brought it after our mains (but even the bread was incredible). If the staff paid just a little bit more extra attention to each table it would be great. However, I will definitely be back, a lot.

    I’ll be honest I was spectacle about this place as it looked instagramable which scares me sometimes. But wow the food was amazing! The Bianca pizza, the California bowl, the donuts, the pancakes, amazing! We were so pleasantly surprised so that was nice!     We held our Rehearsal Dinner in the downstairs dining room of Upland and it was absolutely perfect. The space is sophisticated, private, intimate, and spacious for the 30 guests we had. Most importantly, the food was AMAZING. Plus the service was incredible and I was so impressed by the entire Upland team (from Amanda who helped coordinate our event to the somme onsite who helped me choose the wines of the evening to the captain who run the event on the night-of).     We had a really good experience dining here. We made reservations so didn’t have to wait, the place was packed on a Friday night. The staff is very friendly, and the service was quick.     Ive never had a bad experience here. Food is pretty good. Highly recommend the pastas (Cacio e pepe and Lemon Spaghettini are my favorites) and seasonal tomato salad (the dressing they use with it is so delicious that its drinkable). Even their pizza is good. Cocktails arent too sweet. I really enjoy the atmosphere/decor inside. Great spot to come with coworkers, friends and family but must make a reservation beforehand here as it can be a bit finicky should you try to walk in.

    Came here for an event that was held in their downstairs room, which was such a perfect and beautifully decorated space for a party of ~25. Everyone working here was friendly as well. The espresso martini is one of the best I’ve had, and all the food we had on our tasting menu was delicious.     We stumbled upon Upland on our most recent trip to new york, and it immediately became our favourite place to dine.The ambiance is busy and light without chaos as the servers danced through the patrons coming and going. The service and food were ridiculous in how stellar they were. Their pricing is inviting and their brunch menu was elegant, sophisticated and modern. In fact, so too is their lunch and dinner menu. The buttermilk pancakes with the rhubarb-strawberry compote might sound simple. Still, simplicity handled well becomes sensational when you know what you’re doing, and they do. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, heavily surpassing what we imagined them to be. The California Breakfast Bowl was sensational. With a swoosh of sweet potato that added to the already gorgeous presentation with a light and delicious garlic butter coating as the scallions, peppers, and other wonderful ingredients dazzled the palate. The Spanish Octopus salad we had for dinner was amazing, and the Burrata salad with seared salmon was so good we didn’t speak, thoroughly engaged in the culinary delights placed in front of us.Their desserts were equally stellar, with Upland “Nutter Butter” oatmeal peanut butter cookie and peanut butter cream appearing on each servers tray as they hurriedly delivered it to their respective tables. The Chocolate Budino was sensational in flavour and texture and can comfortably feed two. The Carrot Cake and Strawberry Shortcake Sundae were stunning and, again, perfect to share.Our servers were beyond attentive yet intuitive and not the least bit disruptive. A shout out to Louie. I appreciate considerate service. The smallest details were addressed without asking, making for a stellar dining experience. The energy of this establishment is charged with magic, and the chef clearly intends to satisfy their patrons as each meal was gently coated in experience and love. Only food that is truly invested in during preparation to the degree that theirs is has that je ne sais quoi, and it’s clearly there. Their general manager Ben Park and his staff echo the sophistication and jubilant disposition Upland naturally possesses. No pretence, only welcoming sunny vibes to sit down and enjoy on the chilly spring evenings and days we visited.Upland is beyond a five out of five or even a ten out of ten. Their uniqueness is inviting and they go over and above with ease and grace. It’s simply stellar. Upland earned our patronage in too many ways to describe, and I highly recommend it. Be forewarned that it’s impossible not to return once you try them out.

    The restaurant has a very nice decor with few booths at the back and some smaller tables by the large windows.     Great pick for Sunday brunch. They have both breakfast and lunch items. We went with spinach soufflé, buttermilk pancakes, and side of sausage. Usually it’s hard to distinguish pancakes at most breakfast joints but these may have been the best I’ve ever eaten. HUGE portions - ordered way too much for 2 people, so plan accordingly. Nit picking here, but only disappointment was a mediocre Bloody Mary. Beautiful decor and excellent service. Highly recommend.

    Flew all the way up from Miami Beach to revive a night in this establishment. As expected the food and service are from another planet. Why did you close down there? It was our spot with my wife 3 nights a week...we miss you.

    Came here with a work group. Quickly seated group of 6 on a Wednesday dinner. Food was really really good. The salmon was the prettiest and tastiest piece of fish Ive had in a long time. Salads were huge and fresh. Amazing bread. Coworkers had some pizzas and pasta which looked very good. Black Forrest cake was decadent. My only knock was it was loud and beer list is rather small at 4 regional beers.

    The food has always been fantastic and still is. The Little Gem salad is so fresh and gently dressed ... But it is large and can easily be a meal or shared. The outdoor seating set-up is pleasant.

    Great brunch spot! Service was excellent, with perks like coat check (so clutch on a cold winter day). Feels very spacious, airy, and welcoming. Love the booths. Would love to come back for dinner, or just a drink!

    One of my favorite restaurants in New York. The servers are really friendly and do their best to accommodate their guests, you really feel attended to. Their amaranth cauliflower is one of the best dishes I’ve had in a while, and my entire party enjoyed our different dishes. Great interior as well, a really nice experience overall.

    Upland proved to be a wonderful discovery during our recent stay in NYC, conveniently situated just across the street from our hotel. We found ourselves returning on two separate nights of our four night trip, and both experiences were consistently excellent. I opted for the Bianca Pizza, while my wife had the Crispy Duck Wings; both dishes were a hit each time. The Burnt Cheesecake for dessert was nothing short of phenomenal. The service, was super friendly, further elevating our dining experience. Well undoubtedly be back on our next trip to NYC.

    We went for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. The wait was about an hour (we didnt have to wait on site, we wandered and got a text when our table was ready). It was worth the wait.We had an assortment of eggs Benedict, omelettes and baked goods. A major highlight were the salads. I know that might seem like an odd thing to highlight but both the fresh garden salad and the Caesar salad were revolutionary. Great service and a great atmosphere. One of my new go tos for brunch.

    Very nice place with exquisite food and nice atmosphere. Depending on the dish the portion can be very different. Based on our guess everything under One is a smaller portion while Two are bigger as full meal. The steak and eggs were good. California BEC is more like an egg breakfast, but the crisp potatoes was really good. Beef tartare is not the best I have had. Doughnut is quite big and dense so make sure you save enough space for it if ordering.However one thing not quite up to standard is the service. We waited for quite long to order and being ignored even after waving to the server for three times. Not the level of service I expected for such a upscale restaurant.
