We stumbled into Zinc Bar by accident on New Year’s Eve. This is one of the coolest places I have ever been to. Everyone on the team was warm and welcoming. The atmosphere is hip and cozy. There isn’t anything to not completely enjoy about this hidden gem. The libations are expertly crafted and each sip is delightful. Treat yourself to an amazing cocktail and experience Zinc Bar today. Can’t wait to go back. God Bless America! God Bless Blue & Gold! Remember Everyone Deployed Everyday! -

Just saw Terry Waldos Gotham City Ragtime Band at Zinc Bar and it was a BLAST! These guys know how to put on a show. The chemistry between all the band members is electric. Plus, I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the cocktails were. -

The place is nice but is more for like a date. I came with my sister on a Friday and we where expecting live music but we pick the wrong day for it. I think they say theres only live music on Saturday, dont remember well. Drinks werent so good but the service was excellent, I remember we ask the waitress to change one of our drinks cuz my sister didnt like it and they did it without any charge. -

Review 10 (2019-05-10 - Rating: 5)
A classic N.Y.C Jazz spot. New location from the Houston street locale. I remember being on Houston street the legendary Drummer Victor Jones had finished his first set. I went to the front bar and they were playing music. I asked what it was cause the album he had played was Cal Tjaders Sol sauce. It had relaxed me. I was buzzed but, it put me in a good place, good vibe. -

Review 12 (2019-04-22 - Rating: 5)
One of the oldest and most respected jazz clubs in NYC. Jazz legends have played here. The red velvet, neon, and fringe give the place a great atmosphere! It is a small space so know that before you go. It is an intamate setting perfect for a date. -

Great atmosphere. The bouncer was wonderful and got us a great table. I had the black and gold - delicious! Everyone else seemed to enjoy their drinks too. I appreciated that this was a nice, upscale place without any New York pretentiousness. All good vibes in a old school theme setting. -

Great jazz lounge. Small, dark and intimate. House special drinks are good, people are nice and the music is great. Had the pleasure of hearing Jack Wilkins, Vic Juris, Mark Whitfield & Joe Cohn play some of the best jazz guitar ever. These guys are F***n FANTASTIC! Only in NYC! -
Review 18 (2017-10-19 - Rating: 4)
Came here before heading to the Comedy Cellar. Bustling front room, and great jazz music in the back (ticket/cover required!). Bar space is limited, but pleasantly intimate. -
Review 19 (2023-08-23 - Rating: 5)
Fantastic local spot for some of the best jazz in town! No idea how more people haven’t discovered this spot - it’s better than most of the well-known clubs in the neighborhood. Very happy that it remains somewhat underground because you can always walk in and get a table. -
Review 20 (2024-11-01 - Rating: 5)

Review 22 (2024-02-20 - Rating: 5)
Love the performance. Drink server seemed overwhelmed, maybe she should start getting drink orders before the show starts! Also, the cocktails are so nice, why not make the couple food offerings a little more thoughtful too? Thanks guys, overall great performance. -

Zinc bar is one of the best spots in the east village. You’re welcome by amazing staff who want to uphold the experience of an old school jazz club. They have everything from old school drinks to a jazz performance. One of New York city’s best treasures I highly recommend u experience this -
Review 24 (2023-03-18 - Rating: 5)
This unassuming location has fantastic jazz music, an intimate outdoor seating, and some amazing cocktails. Drop by if youre in the area! :)Update: Visited Zinc Bar again (sat indoors this time) and the vibe is amazing. We went on a Saturday night (the night when there is no live music) but it was still as amazing as the last time. Looking forward to being back soon! -

I was looking for a Jazz bar and stumbled upon Zinc bar looking for some Jazz. I walked in and was able to get a seat by the bar. I did not enter the room where the music was. It was a Thursday night that was Cuban Jazz. I felt lucky to be able to hear the jass play while I enjoyed a glass of red wine by the bar. I think it was a Bordeaux wine. Very rich and fruity with almost cherry notes. The staff was very friendly and attentive, providing menus as well as the bill when asked. The Cuban Jazz night is an absolute must! I will be back here. I can tell they make great drinks here and yet to try the food, but the menu looks inviting. Friendly staff from the door to the bar, perfect for catch up with friends or a date night. -

Review 29 (2020-07-15 - Rating: 5)
This place is exceptional. I never would have found it were it not for the pandemic and their beautiful patio construction. The owners are just splendid, conscious people offering spirits in biodegradable PLA plastic cups! The coffee is amazing, the vibe is personal with a great neighborhood feel and the people who come here Ive found to be entirely awesome with no exception. Rarely am I enchanted by a spot so completely. Please come to Zinc! -
Review 30 (2022-04-12 - Rating: 5)
Went back to Zinc for the first time post-Covid. The main room is beautiful and so much more comfortable than the typical place youll see music in NYC.They could do a better job updating the shows, or even promoting the shows. Drinks were good/expensive, the servers were friendly but busy. Probably could explain the cover charge better too.I saw the Gotham City Ragtime Band and absolutely loved them and loved the room, the sound and the comfortable atmosphere (Im 63, 230lbs and usually suffer being squeezed into the usual jazz club tables).Giving Zinc five stars based on the beautiful room, friendly staff and great music. Looking forward to getting back! -

Review 33 (2022-11-26 - Rating: 5)
My favorite spot in NYC. The place is amazingly conserved, when you get there you feel like you pushed the door to a Woody Allen movie. Music is always amazing and they have good drinks! Could go there every night! -

Review 36 (2011-12-11 - Rating: 4)
We came here as a big group and took over the whole floor to support a comedian perform here. it turned out we had more people than they could afford to hold. We struggled to find seats and space but we managed to laugh through the show and enjoyed ourselves.Drinks here are about $11 and kind of small. But the overall atmosphere makes up for the price. Service was nice and not pushy at all. -
Review 37 (2023-01-15 - Rating: 5)
He’s a very nice place good to visit a nice jazz music -
Review 38 (2013-04-07 - Rating: 4)
I enjoyed the live jazz but was happy to sit and listen to them croon while I sat at the bar. It was enjoyable meeting people, sipping on a cocktail or a good cappuccino, all while being surrounded by delicious music. For the true jazz enthusiasts who want to get closer to the action its $15.00 bucks to sit as an audience member for the live performance. Not a bad price to pay but Im sure one would expect to keep the cocktail server busy with some mandatory drink minimum. I prefer the place after the scheduled covers are finished and jazz players from all over NYC come out at 11:00 to have a jam session. The only small hang-up for me was the semi-creepy owner who kept trying to talk to me and brag about how it was his establishment. I go for the jazz not to be hit on by the owner but hey...thats NY. Cheers! :-) -
Review 39 (2017-09-07 - Rating: 4)
Party of 6 of us arrived here on a Saturday evening. Since we friends were meeting after a long time, we wanted to chat while hoping to catch some of the live music. Well, this place was just perfect as there is a tiny lounge area right at the entrance of the bar which has a comfy sofa as well as some chairs and small tables. We could hear the live music that was ongoing in their music room (which requires a cover charge of usually $20 over weekends) but it wasnt too loud to drown out the conversation. Drinks were priced OK. No draft beer but a small selection of bottles. Because they dont serve food, you can BYO (provided its not a big box of pizza) -- we stepped around the corner to the local 7-11 and bought some cheese and nuts to enjoy with our drinks. The service was a bit slow (we had to call for the waitress twice) but friendly enough. -
Review 40 (2021-02-24 - Rating: 5)
Good coffee cocktails! We had coffee martini and coffee with rum (it’s warm)!Still outdoor seating but otherwise heater. Very comfortable and lovely! If you sit there for long time, feet can get cold. Maybe put your feet closer to the heater side if you can😅 -

Review 44 (2019-07-28 - Rating: 4)
Zinc was a reserved quiet spot with the look of a speakeasy, yet somehow readily accessible in the West Village. They apparently serve as a venue for live music as well. The staff was easily able to keep up with simple drink orders, but the wine menu seemed small, and they offer nothing in the way of food.Might be a cute date spot, with a few curtained booths and dim lighting, but its hard to know what it fell like on a much busier night. In that area on a non-peak evening, Zinc stands apart as a simple affair, where you can duck in to avoid the usual crowds of the area. -

Review 46 (2023-05-06 - Rating: 5)

Review 47 (2024-09-14 - Rating: 5)
Wish I could gatekeep this gem 💎 my (now) husband and I had our first few dates here - its super romantic, the cocktails are classy classics with a twist (the Green Dolphin, Earl Grey Martini, Pisco Sour and Birth of Cool are delish - the butterfly pea flower infused gin sour with egg whites inspired us to serve our own variation at our wedding), and the music - its excellent. We now frequent as regulars. The owner (who often sits out front and super friendly) is deeply passionate about curating excellence and it shows. He brings only the best of the best in jazz. There is a bar up front and a jazz room in the back for performances. If you arent able to snag a ticket to a show, you can sit at the end of the bar and still get to enjoy some of the music. For shows, we sometimes bring our own bottle of red wine.Love the exterior - feels very Miyazaki-esque, transporting you to another time in another world. The interior - very art deco, cozy yet refined. This spot is such a hidden gem and though I wouldve loved to keep it our little secret nook, great treasures like this need to be shared with the world and cherished by many! -

Review 51 (2022-12-04 - Rating: 5)
The decorations were art nouveau style and beautiful. Missed the live music but they were playing my favorites, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone and Billy Holiday. I do want to go back for a live event. -

Review 54 (2019-08-07 - Rating: 5)
HIDDEN GEM!! Cuban Music led by excellent pianist named Axel, fuses Latin euphoria with classical instrumentals. Axel will even ask for instrumental players to come out from the audience and jump on stage makes for a really great time. $20 cover with excellent drinks. Easily a great place to take out-of-towners or New Yorkers just looking for a good time. -
Review 55 (2020-01-13 - Rating: 5)
This is a great spot to see music. It was packed during NY Winter Jazz Fest so we couldnt see past the bar. I wish we could have stood in the back to see the music somehow. We came to see Axel Tosca on Saturday! -

Review 57 (2024-03-14 - Rating: 5)
Have been to Zinc a few times and it has always been a great experience! From catching a deink wirh a friend after work, to sitting on an amazing show, the atmosphere is always chill and classy. The non alcoholic mojitos were delicious, and the chips are also great for sitting at the bar. Reasonable cover cost for a really outstanding show (30 dol)! Will definetly be coming again. -
Review 58 (2019-06-30 - Rating: 5)
Zinc Bar is great! You can pay cover and see the show or sit at the bar without paying cover. You can hear the music from the bar. Top Jazz music. Friendly staff. And I will perform there soon! -
Review 59 (2017-05-03 - Rating: 5)
The atmosphere at this place is really down to earth. Its a little divey but in a classy way. The stage is closed off to the bar and you need to pay a $15-20 cover to get in there, but you can hear the music from the bar and small lounge area. Bartender was awesome. If you are a music nerd or appreciate art in any way you would enjoy this place. -
Review 60 (2013-06-17 - Rating: 4)
I do love going to bars. This place was a lot of fun, lively with the jazz music, but the drinks were a bit pricey. If youre looking for a good night out though come here with a bunch of friends! -

Review 62 (2021-02-10 - Rating: 4)
The espresso liquor drinks are really good and the seating arrangement with the outdoor seating is damn cute and cozy! I haven’t tried food here as such but it’s more of finger food rather than proper restaurant. -
Review 63 (2017-03-11 - Rating: 5)
One of the last affordable jazz clubs left in the city. This place is where musicians go to listen to other musicians. The performances can get eclectic, and are often Brazilian or R&B influenced. Bar only, no food. -
Review 64 (2024-09-01 - Rating: 5)
The espresso cocktails were all delicious. -

Review 69 (2022-07-09 - Rating: 4)
Very nice place! Felt like you were transported to the 20s/30s jazz scene. Lots of velvet and gold accents 😍The drinks were about $15-20, and the selection of liquor they had was fairly small. (Only 1 or 2 brands of each liquor) I had a chocolate martini with whipped cream. The service was nice as well! They allowed you to have time to relax and drink, and enjoy the company in front of you. I never felt rushed or bombarded with service, but they checked in at the right moments. If you want a relaxing lounge experience with classic cocktails, jazz and good company- this is a great place to try. -
Review 70 (2024-01-12 - Rating: 4)
Nice atmosphere, but the place has become more of a cocktail lounge than a jazz club. Still great music can be found there in the evenings.Cover charges are usually $30.Most cocktails are $19 and up. Ordering a beer or whisky is more affordable. -
Review 71 (2019-08-02 - Rating: 5)
Only went in for drinks but it was a nice experience. Service was great in the bar and you could still hear the live music from the stage well. -

One of the most gorgeous spaces in the city, don’t sleep on Zinc Bar. As soon as you enter, you’re in a 1920’s time warp. It’s my favorite place in the city for a cocktail. And comedy show! (That I host there, I’m bias) Thursday 6/13 7pm! -

Review 99 (2016-10-06 - Rating: 4)
Little gem of a place tucked away downstairs on 3rd. Nice bar in front and a surprisingly large performance space in back. Drinks are good, but very minimal beer selection all in bottles. Goose island is as close to craft as youll see. Service was good, though it was just us.We saw Frank Lacy on a Tuesday night with a $15 cover. Place was vacant. Lacy is a talented trombone player Ive no doubt, but had neither the energy nor the creativity to lead a 3-piece band this night, forcing a drum solo on every song. 1 drum solo A night is more than enough for me, generally. We left early, but Ill be back to sample some of the other musical offerings, I like the ambiance of the place. The website could sure use an update. No one has empty front pages that you have to click enter (except for porn). -

The vibe is like a romantic jazz speakeasy despite it getting very crowded. Best espresso martinis (pricey but damn good)! Would love to come back for a jazz show. -

This place is the reason why I miss NY! If you want coffee go to Starbucks, if you want fancy cocktails go to a fancy cocktail bar, if you want good service go to a Michelin-starred restaurant. You come here just for some of the best intimate music experiences of your life...choose wisely based on the daily line-up, but once you get it right, you will never forget this experience -
