The bar is called Hall, located on W 20th Street. It’s a Japanese-style cocktail bar connected to a two-Michelin-star Kaiseki restaurant called Odo (same owner). Today, though, I just came for the cocktails. The drinks have a distinct Japanese flair, featuring Japanese spirits and whiskeys if you’re interested. One standout menu item here is the burger. I hadn’t even had dinner yet, but I had to try it—super juicy! Great cocktails and delicious food!

Even though the place is small we still walked in on a Saturday night and got a table. They have a limited menu and limited beer and cocktails (no wine). I got the Hall single burger and my husband got the cowboy brisket burger and both were very good. They also came with string fries and the prices seemed pretty decent.

Amazing cocktail spot in Chelsea. Small but very cozy!!!! Eddie, the bartender was very nice. We got 2 Shiso Fresh cocktails (one mocktail version) $18 and they were delicious!Perfect spot for a date.

Came by here on a week night, and left utterly charmed by the food, drink, and atmosphere of the place! They have a small but enticing cocktail and food menu. Most of the seats surround the bar, though there are a few tiny two person tables as well. I tried the washu beef burger and was immensely pleased.

The ambiance in Hall was elegant, classy and intimate. It’s a perfect and ideal place for dating.Their food was amazingly delicious and delicate. You can tell how the chef cares about what he cooks from the dishes. My husband’s favorite was US Wagyu Beef Burger and Beef Prosciutto. The patty made of Wagyu beef was super juicy and greatly matched with the soft brioche bun. The Beef Prosciutto was fresh, great balanced of meat & fat and it melted in your mouth immediately. My favorite dish was Fig tempura, warm flash of fruit with crispy and thin layer.We enjoyed and felt satisfied with their food. However, there is room to improve for their service. Firstly, it was our first time here and we asked for recommendation but the waiter wasn’t patient to introduce. Then when they served our dessert - sake ice cream Monaka, they dropped the top cover to the table by accident but he just walked away without any apology or trying to replace with a new one.

Loved this place. We stayed at the bar for hours enjoying a great conversation, together with coctails and coffee. The service was impeccable! There is a restaurant at the back that we definitely will try in another occasion. The bar is set with espresso machines and a full bar - cocktails from 5pm onwards - no draft beer, and great during for couples, not so much for larger groups.

A gem! Found this tiny bar after going to Photographiska museum and this place is amazing. Small, cozy, great drinks and if you’re hungry you can also try to get a table on the Japanese restaurant that is exactly at the same place.

Truly awesome intimate cocktail and eatery experience. One host, two bartenders and an experience person that makes sure you understand the menu, handles the bill, takes your order, etc. Its unfair to call this person a waiter because hes in a suit and is more of a manager than anything. I had the Old-fashioned, my guest had the Chablis. Both were exquisite. The vibe was beautiful. Definitely my new go to spot.

The burgers are amazing, but the other items left something to be desired. Unfortunately, they are takeout only right now, at least for lunch.The Fries were disappointing and not waffle fries as in the picture--just normal fries. The wings are similar to Korean style, so too sweet for my tastes. The Canale was okay; I actually preferred it frozen and out of the fridge the next day.I would definitely come back for the burgers, and Im still interned in the cocktail bar once its open again.Ordered items:- 2021 Foie Gras Burger- Heavenly Wagyu (A5) Burger- Fried Brothers- Sake Kasu Canale

Hall is a good place to grab a quick drink with friends (1-2). The cocktails are really good and it has a very unique ambiance, that feels like being in a den or private library of some sort. It is very small so not good for groups. There are some food offerings but the highlight of the menu is definitely their cocktails. Try the archipelago.

Where do I begin? A friend recommended this place to me for their burger and sweet Jesus it was probably one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. First off, the place is small and cozy. There’s a bartender who also goes literally out around the back and through the front door to serve the non-bar-seated guests. The cocktails were really great. And that burger! Mighty delicious!! Get the Hall burger, but trust me, make it a double. And the fries, so crispy and perfectly seasoned that you could eat it on its own. We had also ordered the karaage to start but for some reason that came out after our burgers and at that point, nothing could’ve beaten the taste of that burger.

This restaurant week Miyazaki A5 Steak Burger was AMAZING!It has A5 steak slices on top of the Wagyu Patty. The steaks were cooked and salted perfectly with a thin char, super tender and oily and melt in your mouth. The patty was medium rare and very juicy. Fries were still very crispy even when they got cold. The three dipping sauces on the side were also delicious. I personally think the steak slices have outshone the patty!! Overall a great burger really worth trying out!

I want to give HALL 5 stars, but Im going to nitpick because someone has to do something about the patty-to-bun ratio on the single Wagyu burger. Way too much bread for what is otherwise a perfect blend of textures and flavors.

Came here for breakfast to catch up with an old friend. Super homey interior, felt like a friend was serving us coffee in her hip Brooklyn apartment. Breakfast is counter service pastries and sandwiches. Apparently they serve small plates and cocktails in the evening. Cool all-day Japanese-inspired dining concept!

Came with a somewhat tangy sauce, and chopped onions.Iribancha tea (Ippodo brand) - nice smoky/tobacco flavorSeasonal Soup: crab chowder (cup size) - lots of ingredients, peppery flavor, and good amount of crab meat.Portions arent large but the food is quality.Very good service.Its crowded at weekday lunch and dinner hour but pretty empty around 3pm.Ambiance:Stool-style seating only.Nice music and overall clean cool vibe.

Hall is a small cozy, cafe that offers an interesting selection of food throughout the day. The seating is limited, and the staff are accommodating.Their breakfast menu and coffee are decent. However, the lunch menu offers some of the best deals in Flatiron. My favorites include the delicious wagyu burger, Ebi burger, and the Sake Kasu ice cream.Hall has quickly become one of my staple lunch spots!

Sweet spot for coffee and lunch. At evening, it transforms into a cocktail bar but havent stopped by for that yet. A quiet room, even when full, due to noise dampening wood that encases the space and a quiet and busy staff that ensures the guests are taken care of. Slower pace if you are in a rush but a sactuary on an otherwise busy street.

All the food is great, found the soba soup to be a bit salty for my taste and the soba just okay. The rest of the food and service is great. They also have a great burger at lunch that’s super cheap ! I would come more if I weren’t afraid of it being busy and having to wait

Food is good, service is great, and the atmosphere is quiet and low key. Nice after dinner/post date spot to slow it down.Unfortunately, my favorite bartender is no longer there along with the drinks menu. The drinks menu is currently serving only the industry standard. The food menu is still the same, the burgers are quite large so you will have your filling here.The staff is always attentive and respectful. Ill be back eventually to try out the other Odo establishments but for Hall maybe it will some time until they get their footing back.

From the outside, Hall is an unassuming Japanese cafe that serves a limited menu for breakfast and lunch during day, and becomes a cocktail bar at night. However, when entering, youll encounter an elegantly designed decor, with wooden styling reminiscent of a vintage NYC speakeasy. Space is tight yet intimate, with mostly bar seating and a few small tables on the side. Theres not much of a wait during the day, but expect a wait during the night hours given the small space and no reservations policy. The staff was very warm and inviting at all times, and if less busy, can strike up a conversation if youd like.Food has been great for all meal times, with some unique burgers during lunch, particularly the veggie burger and ebi (shrimp) burgers. You can stop by for a cup of coffee or espresso and take it to go. Breakfast and lunch are reasonably priced. Evening food items feel more tapas in style and size, but the mood and ambiance are great for cocktails and wine as an after-date spot or a catch-up with an old friend.

What a gem.The burger was on point. Not only was it delicious and one of the best “bar” burgers I’ve had, but the price was more than reasonable. I’d pay way more for a lesser quality burger experience at most places in Manhattan. Fries were on point and tasted fresh, not reheated.They had one beer but it was a local Pilsner from Finback. Brownie points for true local. Bartender didn’t pour it with head and had the courtesy of admitting so. Beer was fresh.The staff was absurdly gracious and just lovely. I rarely forget my credit card with the check, but the nice waiter chased me down in the cold to deliver it to me.I didn’t try the coffee but they look like they have a unexpectedly great cafe program.Space is super small but what are you gonna do.This place is a model. I wish more places copied the level of detail, the courtesy, and just overall excellent job that is put into a hospitality business with a bar bill better than most places.Just excellent.
