Read a decade old reddit AMA by the owner of this place and found it when I visited Manhattan. Amazing place. Love the speakeasy. Drinks are fantastic and delicious. Music is not too loud. The space gets a bit loud as people get drunk but then the more alcohol drowns it all out. Kudos to this place.

We stumbled across this bar walking back to our hotel. We heard some music and saw a curtain downstairs, then decided to head down. The drinks were delicious and we loved the romantic, quaint, private vibe. Would recommend!

  • Review 3 (2024-09-21 - Rating: 5)

This place is a classic, and I am happy is not so trendy anymore so you can easily get a table especially on the earlier side. Drinks are high quality and somehow its pricing remained more or less stable the last couple of years so now its on par with any other bars (they caught up!).Who knew that 19$ cocktails would be considered normal?Live music is definitely a plus and consistently good. Can you please bring back normal menus instead of that QR code thingy? It just doesnt agree with the ambience.

LB might be one of the best speakeasy’s in the city. It’s the last thing you’d expect when looking at the entrance, but you are blown away once you walk down to the basement. It’s super cozy and intimate. Perfect for a date or a few cocktails with friends. My girlfriend and I took her parents here when they were in town and they loved it. There’s live music during the week and a lot more space than I expected. The cocktails were incredible!

  • Review 5 (2023-07-08 - Rating: 4)

I think this place would be more enjoyable not after hours on a friday. we came at like 11pm and it was pretty packed but only waited maybe 30 min for a table. the drinks were decent and they had allllll the classics - i really liked the nevada but not really the paloma. the table seating area was very intimate and nice though. service was also extremelyyyyyy fast.

  • Review 6 (2023-02-18 - Rating: 4)

French 45, so refreshing and tasty. The bartender has a craftsman spirit from how he makes the drinks and makes sure the taste of it. I think it is under staffed with only one bartender and one reception also being the waitress, hard to not giving an attitude when under pressure 🙃

  • Review 7 (2023-05-14 - Rating: 5)

Excellent cocktails. Nice underground vibe. One of NYs best speakeasys. Love that the menu has no food except for mixed nuts. 🥃

  • Review 8 (2022-01-25 - Rating: 4)

Lovely bar, though it gets crowded at times and some of the hosts (looking at you Ms. Blonde Woman, not you, Ms. Brunette Woman) can assume a rude role. In general, though, can’t complain about the cocktails, which I’ve been returning for for over 4 years—including my last birthday in the city, which I held here, back when they had their weird stadium seating. Glad to see it still exists, just wish some of the staff would treat patrons like they’re spending the kind of money here that they are. Otherwise, no complaints.

  • Review 9 (2023-09-18 - Rating: 5)

Realistically one of the better dirty martinis I’ve had in this city. Typical nyc prices for a place of its kind, $38 for two cocktails. It’s definitely giving speakeasy vibes, very dim lit, not too loud, a lot of people but you’re still able to get serviced/ join a waitlist for a table.

  • Review 10 (2024-08-20 - Rating: 5)

A place to relax. A perfect bar. And a very friendly staff. Live Jazz music. Like to come again, but Bavaria is so far away....

  • Review 11 (2024-10-29 - Rating: 5)

Don’t get off the menu—the bartenders are world class and will make phenomenal drinks tailored to your personal preferences and specs

  • Review 12 (2024-08-29 - Rating: 5)

I honestly love this place! It’s such a romantic place to go to on a date. It’s buzzy yes… but if you get a table it’s very intimate with the low lighting.

  • Review 13 (2017-06-06 - Rating: 5)

Absolutely delicious cocktails served up in a romantic atmosphere. Impressive speakeasy vibe makes this a must-visit for cocktail enthusiasts and people seeking low-key ambiances that breed enjoyment and thoughtful conversations with a staff that has an encyclopedic knowledge of mixed drinks.

  • Review 14 (2022-07-30 - Rating: 5)

Loved this place, amazing Manhatten, also I recommend just telling them what you do and dont like and letting them make you something, I had two of the nicest cocktails Ive had by doing this. Great place.

  • Review 15 (2023-11-29 - Rating: 4)

Hidden bar, nice drinks. Unfortunately the band wasn’t playing when I was there.

  • Review 16 (2024-10-07 - Rating: 4)

Very small bar with live music that can tend to get a bit loud. But it’s a very cozy place with a decent selection of drinks!

  • Review 17 (2024-05-27 - Rating: 5)

Came here around 9:30pm on a Friday and was able to get in without a wait. They have a downstairs area, which is louder and more busy and a street level speak easy type of bar that is more intimate and quieter. We were able to get a table at the street level bar and were very happy with the service. If you are looking for non-alcoholic options, they have multiple fresh juices available.

  • Review 18 (2021-04-11 - Rating: 5)

I just visited Little Branch for the first time since the pandemic. It felt so good to be back! The drinks and service were perfect, as always. LB is such a great place for a cozy date night. Also, Reggie is a sweetheart!

  • Review 19 (2024-11-23 - Rating: 5)

Great cocktail bar. I came a little early for music. Ill be back.

  • Review 20 (2024-11-05 - Rating: 4)

Nice place but the drinks were way too sweet in my opinion

  • Review 21 (2023-08-07 - Rating: 5)

This place is so cool, and the ambiance is buzzing. I went here on a Thursday night around 11 pm, and grabbed a drink with a friend. We stood by the bar, and were able to listen to the live music and have a nice chat. We were told it would take several hours to get a table at this time for two, so just level set expectations if you are looking to sit down. If you are okay standing, it is a really, really vibrant and fun place.

  • Review 22 (2024-11-09 - Rating: 5)

Come late and enjoy the scene with some awesome drinks

  • Review 23 (2020-11-25 - Rating: 5)

Great ambience, service and cocktails here. The bar tender and the servers are very knowledgeable and they have an extensive menu with some of the classics. Would highly recommend this speak easy.

  • Review 26 (2023-01-18 - Rating: 5)

Loved the bar, the vibe, the drinks were awesome. The receptionist was so nice🧡

  • Review 27 (2024-01-02 - Rating: 5)

Had a live band playing and bar tender made special cocktail for us based on what we liked. 10/10 would recommend, great service and atmosphere

  • Review 28 (2013-08-27 - Rating: 5)

I love the entire concept of a speakeasy and this place lives up to the standards. We arrived early....930pm and there was already a short wait to be seated. Theres a front standing bar area and if you choose, you may sit and enjoy the comforts of this dark secretive joint. The drinks are strong and delicious. The servers are gorgeous and polite. The establishment is a five star. We were a party of 7 and they had a booth that fit us perfectly that looked out into the entire room. Monday night and they have live music... Absolutely fantastic! Nothing wrong with some feel good jazz to pair with your drink. I ordered the rum swizzle and sipped on the drink until there was nothing left to slurp up. A very satisfying evening.

  • Review 29 (2024-06-04 - Rating: 5)

Jazz in NY for free. We went on Monday at 10 PM and it was full house. Tiny bar at basement that serves well prepared beberages that are accompanied by a live jazz band.

  • Review 30 (2022-09-07 - Rating: 4)

Just be careful of the dark staircase down! But otherwise a super cool speakeasy low lit vibe. Everyone in my group got a different cocktail and we all loved them so much. I recommend the Fanatic Atlantic (i think that’s what it was called?) Super easy and good pre dinner drink spot

  • Review 31 (2017-07-31 - Rating: 5)

This is not of the evils....great descent into a Sunday with my love and nice live jazz band. Reminiscent of days past and ideas for the future. Cocktail foundry!!

  • Review 32 (2023-11-03 - Rating: 5)

Price per drink is around $20 and theyre really good! Service is just amazing and the atmosphere is the best... When live music is on, theres nothing better.

  • Review 33 (2023-12-22 - Rating: 5)

We walked in on a Friday ~5:15pm without a reservation and were happy to score two janky stools by the door. Cool. Dark. Well worn. Really felt like a speakeasy. Someone was late for their shift, so a lone bartendar was working extra quick/hard to serve everyone until help arrived. Our cocktails were excellent!

  • Review 34 (2018-12-14 - Rating: 4)

Four stars for amazing drinks but poor customer service.Went with my wife on a Friday night at about 10 p.m. Since it was fairly early in the night, we only had to wait about 10 minutes to get inside. Once we did get inside, the bouncer took us downstairs but didn’t explain that it was essentially open seating. (I was expecting a host to seat us, as is the case at most speakeasies). The room was was very crowded, especially around the bar. After we seated ourselves away from the bar, I was expecting to be served, but I was again mistaken. When I finally went up to one of the two bartenders to order my drink, he directed me to the other bartender and told me the area where I was standing needed to be kept clear. I waited a few minutes behind other patrons before finally ordering our drinks. I only provided our preferred base liquor and flavor (rye whiskey/green chartreuse and tequila/savory) for the drinks and let the bartender go to town. The drinks he made were some of the best I’ve had in NYC. Had it not been for the poor customer service when we arrived, I would’ve definitely given this place five stars.

  • Review 35 (2022-08-15 - Rating: 4)

Wow. I came here on a Sunday evening not expecting much.First off Trio Jazz.Drinks - solid and well made.Staff - pleasurable. You cant go wrong. Its my understanding that other days, like Friday and Saturday are a bit intense, so be ready to wait if you show up on those days. Also, no Jazz on Friday and Saturday.Worth it.

  • Review 36 (2024-06-28 - Rating: 5)

Surprisingly spacious and clean downstairs. Great drinks. Will come back

  • Review 37 (2024-05-20 - Rating: 5)

One of my favorite cocktail bars in the city! The drinks they make are so good and you can tell the bartenders have passion for what they do. It does get crowded and the jazz does get loud but the drinks makes it worth it

  • Review 38 (2023-05-08 - Rating: 5)

We were able to walk in a few minutes after 6pm on a Friday, and were surprised to find the place empty (perhaps since it was a beautiful evening, and sitting underground in the dark wasnt as appealing at that hour). We were given a booth adjacent to the bar, and selected from a menu of both cocktail classics and unique house twists on several common drinks. We enjoyed both the Bees Knees and Sea Way No. 2. The front area of the was set up for a jazz band later that night, which would be fun to go back and experience. Overall, a cool speakeasy setting with good drinks and ambiance.

  • Review 39 (2018-01-08 - Rating: 4)

Came for Sunday jazz. Atmosphere is really cool and intimate - great for a date. Music was great. Got two drinks in a row with oxidized vermouth though (even after sending one back) - the bartender seemed to not know what that means. But then they recovered with amazing service and really good drinks to follow. Still not convinced it’s worth $16 a cocktail but I will definitely go back :)

  • Review 40 (2022-10-13 - Rating: 5)

Cool little place with great ambiance. Live jazz and cocktails!

  • Review 41 (2019-02-14 - Rating: 5)

My all time favorite cocktail bar in the city; its the right mix of excellent, cozy, and superb without being pretentious. What a lovely place to tuck yourself away in a corner and drink cocktails with the right ice--I definitely suggest going with the bartenders choice. On a long but lovely evening, I managed to receive 8 different and delicious drinks with only the instructions that I preferred gin cocktails with an egg white.

  • Review 42 (2024-05-06 - Rating: 5)

Vibey cozy underground jazz bar. Incredible cocktails!!!

  • Review 43 (2022-12-27 - Rating: 5)

Been coming here on and off for fifteen years. Drinks are pricey, but one of the few places around that actually deserves to charge this much for cocktails - they are quite good, and for the most part are done well by proper mixologists.

  • Review 44 (2022-03-11 - Rating: 5)

Lovely cocktails and ambiance. Live music was very welcome, though a bit loud in such a small space. Might recommend getting an electric drumkit so you have more control on the volume :)

  • Review 45 (2021-09-28 - Rating: 4)

The vibe and cocktails are fantastic at this spot. The night we went also featured a fantastic jazz trio. I would have liked the service to be faster and more attentive given the size of the place, but overall good experience.

  • Review 46 (2017-11-08 - Rating: 5)

What an awesome hidden gem. Staff is super sweet and dressed pretty snazzy-- need to take a tip from them! Classic speakeasy, with limited seating... make a reservation if you can! Metal straws, crushed ice for classic juleps, mellow jazz music, A-1 date spot.

  • Review 47 (2014-10-13 - Rating: 4)

Little Branch is a great speakeasy venue. Well hidden, very nondescript. Its all about their mixed drinks. The place is dark and a great place for drinks and conversation. Prices can be up there but the drinks are quality and you wont be having many; theyre very strong. They also serve coffee, tea and the like which is a convenient counter to the potent hard drinks.

  • Review 48 (2017-11-11 - Rating: 4)

The place is a speakeasy-style basement, quite hidden and hard to find, a real one from the Prohibition age! Little Branchs bartenders know their stuff! If you dont know what you want just ask for a bartenders specials and theyll make you something great. If you like whisky order an Old Fashioned, its simply amazing! As soon as you get downstairs you can also have your name added to the list for a table and as soon as one is available theyll call you.Cash only, cocktails are $16.

  • Review 49 (2018-06-11 - Rating: 4)

Atmosphere is great, especially if you come on a day where someone is playing jazz on the built in piano. The bouncers and staff are always nice. The place can get a little tight when it gets crowded and feel a tiny bit stuffy but I love the bartenders off the menu creations enough to come back

  • Review 50 (2014-02-19 - Rating: 4)

Little Branch is a speakeasy in the West Village. The entrance is so unassuming, you will easily pass it by unless youre looking for it. How I found it was that there was a bouncer standing by an unmarked door checking for IDs. When you get it you see this hip place, low music playing in the background. There is a lot of chatter from various booths but you can see them because theyre below the height of the chair. Drinks are well concocted and are all the same price and its Cash only. Theres a drink list, but its recommended that you go for the bartenders choice where you tell them your type of spirit and the type of ingredients you want incorporated into the drink. Then, voila theyll serve you up the masterpiece for the evening, complete with a nifty name. Youll have at it, then repeat. Really charming spot and great for dates.

  • Review 51 (2015-07-01 - Rating: 5)

I came here with my best girlfriend and had an amazing time. The staff was friendly and flirty. The drinks were unique, attractive, and very tasty. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate--definitely a great spot for a date!

  • Review 52 (2012-10-18 - Rating: 4)

This place achieves a cool, mysterious, and edgy aesthetic and offers excellent cocktails. The edgy nature of the venue presents one minor issue: though your decent into this underground, hip lair is unusual and exciting, its a tad musky at those subterranean depths. But thats all part of the drill! Accept it, move on, and appreciate the atmosphere for what it is; then drink some of the most interesting and inventive concoctions known to mankind. Id highly recommend this spot, especially for a casual drink with close friends (over a romantic endeavor).

  • Review 53 (2018-12-15 - Rating: 5)

One of my favourite speakeasies in the city. Great cocktails and most ordering can be done off-menu. Underground next to the 123 tunnels so your table rumbles as trains go by! Perfect for impressing someone. Go earlier in the evening to get a table.

  • Review 54 (2014-08-20 - Rating: 5)

Excellent cocktails in elegant and mysterious cave-like den. This is the kind of place where you can tell the bartender drinks you like, ingredients, types of liquor, even tell them youd want a happy drink that reminds you of summer, and they work their magic to present you with a gift in the form of a nuanced cocktail. These people are mixologists. The environment feels both safe and mysterious at the same time. There was live clazzy jazz later in the evening. I will be back. Check it out, if you can find the place.

  • Review 55 (2013-08-16 - Rating: 5)

You have to go right when it opens or finding a seat might be the hardest task on the planet. That being said - go here if you like unique, well crafted cocktails. Expect to pay around $15 a drink.I had 3 drinks and didnt even realize how drunk I got, I had absolutely no intention of getting drunk. I was just out with a friend, but we couldnt resist ordering more drinks. They were so good. I had a refreshing cucumber mint drink and she had a spicy one, cant remember the names, but Im not sure you can go wrong with anything here.If you dont know what you want, tell your waiter/waitress what you like and dont like and theyll mix up something special.

  • Review 56 (2018-05-31 - Rating: 4)

Speakeasy entered via steep stairs. Busy on a Friday night, although friendly staff who worked to seat groups in a booth quickly. Alternatively space was open at the bar. Nice venue / vibe, good drinks on pricey side. Lighting was quite dark.

  • Review 57 (2024-03-06 - Rating: 5)

Alex provided incredible service and even more incredible drinks when I brought the team for a night of drinks. LB just always impresses !

  • Review 58 (2019-12-04 - Rating: 5)

My ice cube was huge and cold. Club soda is so bubbly. Careful of the candles, the flames are very hot! 10/10 would recommend for a night when you want to go to Little Branch.

  • Review 59 (2019-08-01 - Rating: 5)

One of the best speakeasy bars in NYC. Love the dark and stormy which they are known for. If you are feeling a little more daring, tell the bartender how your feeling and what base liquor you would like and they will come back with a surprise that is usually on point.

  • Review 60 (2018-10-31 - Rating: 4)

A neighborhood gem. Going on a weeknight or earlier on a weekend is the way to go. Their current cocktail list isn’t the freshest, but the bartenders are good, and will mix up their old recipes for you. Love Little Branch ❤️

  • Review 61 (2017-07-30 - Rating: 5)

Great spot with really really terrific drinks. You can just tell the bartender what you do and dont like and theyll make you something truly amazing. Only downside is that if youre not sitting at a table, the standing space around the bar is pretty uncomfortable

  • Review 62 (2019-09-06 - Rating: 5)

Still cool and funky, this underground speakeasy is worth the trip, wait and congestion as the bartenders are pros and will make you an excellent cocktail whether on or off the menu. Its dark, its crowded but its fun.

  • Review 63 (2016-07-30 - Rating: 5)

Cozy bar with live music and high talented bartenders who will make the most exquisite drinks in NYC. 5 start bar for sure!

  • Review 64 (2024-01-07 - Rating: 5)

Place is sucha vibe look out for vito who works there once a week but is probably one of the coolest waiters ive ever met. Will be coming back!

  • Review 65 (2024-06-30 - Rating: 5)

Great spot to pop into when in the west village. We came here after we tried to go to Mace with their broken AC and were a little worried about it being hot/musty in the basement on a hot rainy summer day. Thankfully it felt very comfortable in there and the service was great! Everyone loved their drinks and we enjoyed the 80s music. Will be back!

  • Review 66 (2016-07-04 - Rating: 5)

The best part about this place, is that you tell them what type of booze you like and what flavors and they just make a cocktail for you. Its kinda dark in the bar but the atmosphere is nice. Cash only, though but most places like this are.

  • Review 67 (2016-02-14 - Rating: 4)

Super cool speak easy vibe. Awesome selection of drinks. Came here on one of the coldest nights of the year and was bummed to find out that their hot drink machine was out of service! Will need to come back to try those. Bartender was super fun/friendly.

  • Review 68 (2021-06-22 - Rating: 5)

Nice venue that is ran orderly and as efficiently as one can. Good system to get folks in and out. The service was good, nothing to complain about here. Music and overall ambiance did set the mood for an enjoyable night. $18 a cocktail is the new standard pricing in nyc I suppose. #inflation

  • Review 69 (2022-08-04 - Rating: 5)

Excellent mocktails, everyone was very kind and in great spirits. The live music was the perfect touch, all around a great time.

  • Review 70 (2012-07-26 - Rating: 4)

Although the mixology going on at this hidden West Village bar is still top notch - they need to give this joint a paint job. The room has seen better days, but if you can get past that dank basement smell (which a stiff one should help you do), youre golden. One thing that I hope never changes - the price. The drinks here are $13 - not too shabby.

  • Review 71 (2016-04-19 - Rating: 4)

Nice speakeasy bar. Its cash only and quite expensive so be prepared. The cocktails are delicious! And the best is when you tell the bartender what kind of drink you want and they choose for you.

  • Review 72 (2022-12-21 - Rating: 5)

A low key one-stop-shop for the best cocktails you can wish for, provided by the most passionate bartenders. I come to NYC every once in a while and I would never miss the opportunity to come here for cocktails again, and again, and again ❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • Review 73 (2017-02-25 - Rating: 5)

Amazing cocktails, bartenders and atmosphere. Very intimate. Want to go more often, but the wait is usually too long, so I rarely visit.

  • Review 74 (2013-03-15 - Rating: 5)

A-MAZ-ING. Celebrated my little brothers 21st here with friends and only good times were had. Drinks are expensive, but well worth it as one or two last all night. Not to mention they are conversation pieces in and of themselves. Live jazz, low ceilings and candle light transport you back to a simpler time!

  • Review 75 (2018-06-09 - Rating: 5)

This bar is wonderful. We came with a group and Chris was very accommodating to our requests. He made us each a drink based on what we liked. I would absolutely come back here

  • Review 76 (2016-11-14 - Rating: 5)

Cozy underground jazzy bar, with the most delicious cocktails I have ever had. Never disappointed! Can get very crowded so plan ahead!

  • Review 77 (2019-09-05 - Rating: 4)

Small and tight underground but cozy for a date. Live bands provide good background music. The bartenders like to get creative.

  • Review 78 (2019-03-25 - Rating: 5)

Great little none pretencious hidden bar with a cosy atmosphere, cocktails, and live Jazz (at least the Sun night we were there). Staff were friendly with good service.

  • Review 79 (2022-10-21 - Rating: 5)

So cute with live jazz and great drinks! Perfect little speakeasy, great for weekdays

  • Review 80 (2020-03-16 - Rating: 5)

Best speakeasy Ive found in NYC yet. Drinks are just as expensive as elsewhere, but are 10x better. Also they get the jazzy atmosphere just right

  • Review 81 (2022-10-08 - Rating: 5)

Such a cool place! Staff were great, atmosphere was incredible with the dim lighting and the jazz band was great too.

  • Review 82 (2024-05-04 - Rating: 5)

LB is a solid cocktail bar and lounge. It has a wide array of cocktails using different liquors, and they are presented in their unique glasses and service style very well. The upstairs part of this bar is very small but very relaxed; Its a good place for a drink and catching up with a small group of friends. Theres a downstairs area as well through the door on the corner of the street. Its expensive, but thats really just New York City cocktail pricing.

  • Review 83 (2019-08-20 - Rating: 5)

Excellent service. Great live music. Easy recommendation

  • Review 84 (2018-06-11 - Rating: 4)

Love this place BUT prepare to wait in line on a weekend. Once inside its a bit crowded. Super tasty cocktails in an old school speakeasy setting.

  • Review 85 (2011-06-21 - Rating: 5)

AMAZING cocktails. Lovely little intimate speakeasy. Go early, because it gets backed. Pricey but worth every penny.

  • Review 86 (2024-03-06 - Rating: 5)

I went with a group of 15 people and each of us ordered the bartenders choice. Everyone received a custom cocktail suited to their palette and loved it. Most of the cocktails I had never heard of before. The sheer knowledge and skill the bartender had was amazing. The inside is small but cozy and there was an excellent jazz trio playing all night.

  • Review 87 (2024-05-09 - Rating: 5)

Really tasty drinks and a great menu to choose from. Live jazz in a cozy dimly lit flatiron style building. Dont remember the names but I got all the mezcal cocktails.

  • Review 88 (2011-03-28 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 90 (2022-10-21 - Rating: 5)

This place is great and I enjoy the fact they have a bartenders choice that makes things super interesting.

Drinks were in a league of their own, and so were the bartenders. Jackson and Sam are untouchable, and we’d be back only for them if the cocktails weren’t good. Thankfully, the beverages were equally as incredible. Live music was the cherry on top. Couldn’t recommend the place more!

Best dark and stormy cocktail Ive had. A little humid but pretty sure the waitress was into me.

  • Review 93 (2024-05-29 - Rating: 5)

Great cocktails. Show up early to get a good seat/not have to wait as it’s a small space.

  • Review 98 (2024-03-25 - Rating: 5)

I came here to hear a buddy of mine play with his jazz band. My second time here. Great craft drinks in a venue with a cool vibe.

  • Review 99 (2014-03-06 - Rating: 4)

It is small place in a basement and full of great cocktails. It is hard to find from the outside, just ask the people that are lined up a door.

  • Review 100 (2022-12-09 - Rating: 4)

A true gem of a craft cocktail bar - but come when the jazz band plays

  • Review 101 (2019-10-16 - Rating: 5)

Super classy and awesome place! They just dont have live jazz on Fridays and Saturdays.

  • Review 102 (2018-05-14 - Rating: 5)

Great jazz music Daniel Eli Weiss Trio in a divine intimate underground hideaway..upscale and chic.

  • Review 103 (2024-03-12 - Rating: 4)

Very good cocktail bar. Very tight space. I would give it 5 stars but I went to Katana Kitten, Employees only, and Angels share earlier. I liked them all but My drinks were better at the other eatablishments.

  • Review 104 (2023-04-11 - Rating: 4)

Downstairs cocktail bar known for the Bees Kiss cocktail. Youll likely have to wait to get a table, but its worth it for a fun stop on your evening

  • Review 113 (2023-10-10 - Rating: 4)

The times I have been able to snatch a table this place has been amazing —great speakeasy ambience and great cocktails. Very hard to find a spot on a weekend evening though, and wouldnt recommend going at night if youre looking for a low key thing.

  • Review 114 (2019-08-16 - Rating: 5)

Really great cocktails and bartenders. Even better with live music!!

  • Review 115 (2023-07-01 - Rating: 4)

Great spot with cool ambiance and good drinks! One of the servers was really rude to us though. We also saw him cornering other customers about their tip before we left. Not very welcoming

Underground den of mixology featuring a vast menu of handcrafted cocktails in a snug space.

  • Review 125 (2023-06-06 - Rating: 5)

The best speakeasy in town, lovely atmosphere. They have live Jazz on Monday nights (I think?). Drinks are pricy but well worth it.

  • Review 126 (2016-11-30 - Rating: 4)

Another speakeasy thats in an unassuming locale. Great drinks and the ambience was dark

  • Review 127 (2023-09-11 - Rating: 5)

Snagged booth seats right when this place opened on a Saturday night - delicious tequila / mezcal cocktail w / sugar ginger cube - medicina Latina. Would go back but sit at the bar - felt shoved in the corner staring at plexiglass where we couldn’t see the bar.

  • Review 128 (2023-08-21 - Rating: 5)

Better to go early around 10PM, if you don’t want to wait in the line.

Excellent old-style cocktails. Try the bartenders choice!

  • Review 136 (2023-02-11 - Rating: 5)

Great atmosphere, every staff person has an upbeat attitude, from the bouncer to the servers to the bartenders. They made a drink recommendation based on some preferences, and it was perfection. Would love to go back and try more, as this was an outstanding experience.

  • Review 137 (2017-01-21 - Rating: 4)

Great little hidden gem! Went down for a few drinks and its really pleasant.

  • Review 138 (2023-04-17 - Rating: 5)

Line moves relatively quick if there is one. Drinks are delicious but it’s so crowded. If you tend to get claustrophobic, definitely skip. It’s an underground bar and gets tight in there.

  • Review 139 (2022-10-09 - Rating: 4)

Speakeasy-cocktails! Definitely ask the bar tender for your own made to order cocktail. Mine had absinthe! Very strong, very good cocktails! We came just before 10 on a Saturday and it was crowded but not too much and only took about 7 minutes to get a drink. Small place, no frills, but good vibes!

  • Review 140 (2013-09-29 - Rating: 4)

Tiny, underground sorta place. Loved the atmosphere and the drinks were enjoyable.

  • Review 141 (2022-11-05 - Rating: 4)

The line wasnt too long to get in. The space is a cozy basement with a low ceiling, but quite humid. They have tables in the back and a standing area in the front. My friends enjoyed their drinks. Service was nice and they accept credit cards. The worst part of the experience was the QR code menu. The lighting was too dim to scan the QR code menu and theres no signal or wifi in the basement. For a nice cocktail bar, there should at least be a physical menu.

  • Review 142 (2018-08-05 - Rating: 5)

The great place in the city!Specially on Sunday with the live jazz show

  • Review 143 (2022-12-13 - Rating: 5)

Amazing drinks and live music, Date night Vibes

  • Review 144 (2017-05-17 - Rating: 4)

Somewhat hit and miss in the cocktails but worth a visit for the atmosphere.

  • Review 145 (2021-10-16 - Rating: 5)

Fantastic spot for drinks. The atmosphere is killer. We usually expect to stand around or sit on those weird steps and I’m very happy to do that. I’m sure getting a table is also nice but we’ve never really bothered to.

  • Review 146 (2023-07-26 - Rating: 4)

Best speak easy in Soho area.

  • Review 147 (2022-10-29 - Rating: 5)

Great cocktails which are well crafted & delicious, nice ambiance. It would be nice if they could expand the space to address seating and a bigger bar

  • Review 148 (2022-10-13 - Rating: 5)

As classic as cocktail bars get. Love it here. Always a treat and the staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable.

  • Review 149 (2017-03-15 - Rating: 5)

One of my favorite cocktail bars in NYC

  • Review 150 (2022-04-02 - Rating: 4)

Had three cocktails: Nevada, Paloma, and High Horse. They were decent. The server was really attentive. The place was pretty crowded though.

  • Review 151 (2018-01-12 - Rating: 5)

Been here many many times. A perennial fave. The music is always excellent. I particularly enjoy the tables and hanging by the bar. The cocktails are delicious and very well crafted. The special ice machine oddly makes quite a difference too. Still got it after all these years!

  • Review 152 (2020-08-31 - Rating: 5)

Very cool, original, specialty drinks here! The live music is fantastic and the vibe is perfect if youre looking for a spot to grab a nightcap but not on your balcony. There can be quite a wait so be prepared to stand in line or make sure to get here at a reasonable time!

  • Review 153 (2018-11-14 - Rating: 5)

Small and cozy place to have some good drinks. Loved the atmosphere. Service wasn’t amazing, but was okay! I asked the bartender to make me some sweet and sour drink and it was amazing! Also when we were there (about 22:00) there were 3 musicians who played live jazzy music which was very nice!

  • Review 154 (2022-05-10 - Rating: 5)

Just order the Bee’s Kiss. It still has the same magical touch as when these sweet people introduced me to the drink 100 years ago.

  • Review 157 (2015-06-18 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 158 (2023-05-21 - Rating: 5)

    F***ing amazing

  • Review 159 (2020-01-15 - Rating: 5)

Of course its a bit wrapped up in itself but you cant deny the appeal of Little Branch as you descend the gloomy stairs and find yourself in a shadowy subterranean hollow. The bartenders are highly skilled and the prices match your expectation as you watch them perform. I try to find my way here for a nightcap whenever possible.

  • Review 160 (2018-12-09 - Rating: 5)

Little Branch was an early pioneer of the speakeasy scene. Its underground space is limited to a strict capacity (first come, first served), which keeps the mood inside pretty intimate and perfect for a date or small groups. They also have live jazz sometimes, which either gives you another good reason to go or makes you want to head straight for whatever club in the Meatpacking is playing The Weeknd.

  • Review 161 (2017-05-21 - Rating: 4)

Went when visiting from out of town - good stop for a speak easy feel. We enjoyed the bartenders off-menu creations. Service could have been better when it came to settling the bill and a little friendlier from the hostess, everything between was fine.
