    Drinks here are great, well balanced with minimal to enjoyable alcohol flavor notes. We came at 6pm on a Friday and it was quite quiet but started filling up in the next ~2 hours.     The vibes of this place was really nice and so fun for a date/friends outing. The seats were comfortable and the cocktails are good. I’m someone that enjoys fruity drinks and they had great options.I did not try the food so I can’t comment on that. Overall, great atmosphere.

    Absolutely wonderful place for a date! So romantic and cute, because of its intimate and dark light setting. Lots of cool rooms, service was fantastic, something a bit different from the usual. The platter was absolutely amazing for only $23! 100% would get it again, all of the drinks, and the wine were great as well. Recommend this place!

    Calling all old fashioned drinkers/sippers! If you love old fashioned drinks then best believe there is no better place then Raines Law Room. I love going to mixology bars: this place is the truth! I have never in my life had a better old fashioned then the ones they are serving here. To this day I keep trying to find a better one and nothing even comes close. This place is incredible. Beautiful atmosphere that is perfect for a date night or just hanging out. The bartenders and the servers are extremely friendly. It feels a bit crowded in there when it gets busy but man it feels upscale. It’s really nice and I have to say it again, the drinks are killer here. Please if you are looking for the next place to grab an amazing drink then please go here! Please do yourself a favor it’s outstanding!

    Took my wife and Friends to this spot to celebrate her earning her Doctorate!🥰Classy establishment, intimate and cool. Amazing staff, service and atmosphere.This is a a Midtown East spot that’s a hidden gem that I highly recommend!Worth the money and the tip.😉

    Chic joint tucked inside the William. Great place for drinks and a conversation with your friends. I thought there were too many tequila/bourbon inspired drinks, and tried the gin cocktails. Could use more variety away from the darker spirits. Appetizers were standard fair, nothing special. The real reason you go is the great seating and the ability to have a conversation while having a drink with friends.

    Nice speakeasy vibe setting bar within a hotel establishment. Pretty extensive drinks menu offering cocktails with almost all different types of base alcohol. Tartar with crackers was really good.

    Love this place the ambience and the drinks and the small bites are amazing. I bring all my friends who are visiting NY here and they have all only had great things to say.You can go off the menu and tell them the kind of drink you like and be surprised.Highly recommend the mezcal based drinks my fav, snacks tray and goat cheese appetizer.We ordered a tequila based drink, mezcal and a whiskey based in this picture.

    Perfect night cap. Hate to wait & the drinks took 20 minutes but they were all delicious. The decor is beautiful we had a little couch all to ourselves with curtains and great view of the bar. Our server was very knowledgeable ad help be get the perfect aviation. Highly recommend.

    What a wonderful cocktail bar. Very classy and high end. We are a Hollywood Smile Photo Booth rentals and we had a birthday party celebration here last night. Photo Booth was an amazing addition to the party. So many cool pictures taken. Definitely coming back here with my wife.

    Without a doubt, this speakeasy is an absolute gem in NYC! In my honest opinion, its unparalleled. The cocktail prices are incredibly reasonable, coming in at less than $20, making it even more appealing than many standard restaurant bars in midtown.The ever-changing menu, carefully crafted by a team of creative bartenders, always keeps things exciting.Personally, I enjoy sitting at the bar, so I can catch up with my favorite bartender, Juan. You can also name your liquor preference and receive a delicious cocktail! Its truly a delightful experience that keeps me coming back for more.

    Very comfortable atmosphere. My friend always spoke of going to speakeasies in the city and this was my first experience. The outside didnt stand out but when you walk in its broken down into different rooms. Each room is separated with drapes. I was in the Peacock room which was dark with comfortable chairs, it was a cozy place for my friends and I to catch up after work. The cocktails were pretty good too.

    Cool spot! We came across this spot on a Saturday night. We didnt have a reservation but were seated quickly in some very comfy chairs. This place has a chic vibe, great drinks, and excellent service. We enjoyed our time here.

    I want to give a 4.5 rating. This place was cozy, dim, friendly with excellent service and drinks, the atmosphere was fabulous; so why not 5 stars? Because one of the couches needs to be changed. Everytime someone gets up or sits down on this particular couch, you feel like you are going to bounce right off of it, I think this couch needs to get its last rites. Other than that this place is sexy, fun, romantic and has a grown up vibe about it.

    First walked in and the host was amazingly nice. I didnt catch her name, but shes brown skin with glasses. Such a sweet, and welcoming lady. Friendly and down to earth. The atmosphere is intimate and classy. If you are looking for a much taste in cognac, whiskey, scotch etc. Check this place out. Very clean business/business casual dress code for the relaxed and fun.

    Raines Law is a secret oasis in the middle of Chelsea. Perfect for any season. Their little known backyard space is ideal for summer and their interior is cozy and secluded with antique couches that are warm and seductive for colder temperatures. Your first drink allows your mixologist to understand your flavor palette, creating a unique profile just for you.Test them! Just tell them your favorite things. “Not to sweet, strong, spicy and tequila.” You’ll walk away ready for a unique surprise and they won’t let you down. Personal suggestion, ask for Thomas.. he’ll surpass any expectation you have.... and then triple it!

    Delightful cocktail experience! Everything we tried was interesting and enjoyable. Comfortable, cozy seating with high ceiling. Seated immediately around 8:15 on a Monday. Had dinner beforehand so cant speak to the food. Service always appeared right when we needed it!

    Lovely, intimate setting. A bit smaller than anticipated, but they make good use of space and were very creative. Bartenders were incredibly knowledgeable and host/hostess at the front door were extremely helpful and got us seated promptly. For drinks, we ordered the New Wave and Plum Role.     I came here for a Halloween themed wedding. The space is incredible. It’s such a old New York feel and each room is beautiful. The mixologists are amazing. They do such a great job of matching the drink you want while also being creative.

    MAKE A RESERVATION and drink quickly because the host will tell you to leave since they have another reservation right after you.Very intimate setting with drinks at $19 each with quality ingredients and flavorful mixes.     I attended a private, 40th birthday party there on 7/8 & had an amazing time! The atmosphere, staff & service were all beyond amazing!! The bartender was a true professional & made the drinks strong, fast & with a flair! Now the food... THE FOOD... IT WAS SPECTACULAR, EXCEPTIONAL & UNBELIEVABLE! I had the salmon w/ burre blanc w/ lump crab meat & it was by far the best salmon Ive ever had. I tasted the steak with chimichurri & it was also incredible! My onky complaint was the lack of sufficient air conditioning in the bar area. It was hot AF!!! That definitely needs to be fixed, but we still had a great time😊

    Classy, high end speakeasy joint near Grand Central. If you’re looking for a quiet place to chat and feel relaxed, here’s your go to spot. No loud music, crowded seating arrangements, etc. Also an outstanding and comprehensive cocktail menu. Always appreciate the seasonal options so I can always try something new. Expect a romantic ambience created by the dim lights.

    One of my favorite speakeasies in NYC. Very intimate. The drinks are good. The service and the intimate vibe is worth the wait. You can hear the person you’re with. I will definitely come back. Service a little slow but maybe just because we were on the back patio.

    Ive been a fan of the old Raines Law Room, and I wanted to try this one out as it is in a more convenient location.Lighting is sufficiently dim; service was good; drinks were fine. Its very hard to reserve a couch.I would say that seating on the couches here is less private than the other one; in other words, its not as good of a date spot.

    The Raines is hard to get a reservation at and almost impossible to walk into. But this is its only drawback. It is a charming space, set up like an Victorian lounge - with leather chairs arranged in pairs, and library aesthetics, dim lights, and mellow jazz/pop. The drinks are absolutely spectacular, especially the build-your-own Old Fashioned which is consistently my favorite whiskey drink I’ve ever had. And the service is impeccable!

    Well-made drinks! This place has the vibe of an old New York library at an old money residence. The room is tiny, but appropriately cozy to create a warm and intimate experience. I ordered my beverage bespoke and the bartender made me something I was quite pleased with. Drinks are pricey at $16 a pop, but lets admit that were paying more for the ambience.

    A tasteful little joint at the William, it is incredibly difficult to get a reservation here due to their determination to maintain an intimate vibe and avoid overcrowding the place (which is certainly admirable). They have a huge wine selection along with an extensive list of cocktails, all of which are priced at a relative premium. The service is quick and efficient without being intrusive. Id definitely recommend visiting at least once for a drink or two.

    Great place for a date.m or evening out with a small group of friends. Make sure you call ahead and make a reservation, especially Thursday through Sunday evenings.The entrance is very unassuming and can be easily missed from the street. Youll see a down sloping stairway that leads to a non assuming door. Ring the bell and youll be greeted by the hostess.Without reservations, plan on a 1 to 3 hour wait.

    Went last week with my husband and two friends. Raines Law Room has always been a favorite lounge of mine but Damond (?) Made it particularly special this trip. He was an amazing server who made sure we were taken care of. Was supposed to be there for a quick drink before dinner but had such a great time we ended up staying for about 3 hours.

    This is a great find with a solid cocktail menu in a very nice setting. It is a welcome break from the often loud Manhattan cocktail scene. I go here when I want to sit and talk with someone and have a well made drink at the same time.

    Food and service: I went with some friends to have a drink. They have some snacks and small plates, but we didnt try them. I ordered a Moscow mule, and I have to admit that it wasnt terrific. Next time Ill order something thats on the drink menu. In my opinion, the prices are a bit high. I think they could improve the way they present their cocktails.Atmosphere: Perhaps the best asset of the place is the atmosphere. It is a cozy and relaxed climate—ideal for chatting quietly or having a first date. We went without a reservation on a Tuesday and had to wait about 10 minutes before being seated.Staff: Attentive, correct and polite staff. I personally hate it when the waiters keep asking over and over again if you want another round, and here they dont.Probability of returning: 70%

    Really classy (but relaxed) decor and atmosphere. Cocktails were absolutely sublime, I had a Hat in the Hand and anyone who manages to work a Banana Liqueur into a cocktail without it overpowering everything or disappearing entirely deserves a bit of praise.

Staff is friendly and laid back.**Update** we went back a week ago and I probably sound like a broken record but this place has THE BEST drinks. What makes it so amazing is their Lead Bartender, Jimmy. To be honest, I dont usually go out for drinks but I will go out of my way to come here especially of how well Jimmy makes his drinks.     If you’re going to see a show and want to grab a drink and snack beforehand, then I’d recommend making a reservation at 5pm. We were able to enjoy two rounds and some snacks before leaving at 6:15pm, casually walking over to Broadway with plenty of time to spare. If you’re into spirit forward drinks, they have a fantastic selection of old fashioned style beverages. The Island Charter was by far my favorite. Featuring two types of rum and pineapple liqueur, it might be my new favorite drink.Another great reason to visit here are the snacks that you can order to accompany your cocktails. The salmon dip with crunchy country bread was fantastic, with real chunks of salmon. The tomato bread with Serrano ham was also a highlight. Definitely helpful when it comes to consuming those strong beverages.

    Nestled between Bryant Park & Park Avenue on E 39th Street, Raines Law Room at The William is a really lovely spot for a great cocktail + a cozy, speakeasy atmosphere. My partner & I came this weekend on a whim for a drink and a bite (after making a quick reservation on Resy) and it was a great experience!! The vibe in this place is so lovely - it’s very intimate, a great spot for a date. I tried the Desert Bloom and it was so delicious!! My partner had the Active Spin for a take on an Old Fashioned and he loved it. We tried a couple bar snacks, too - the Crispy Goat Cheese + Spiced Nuts were perfect small plates for sharing (and tasted so good)!! Similarly to Raines Law Room Chelsea, I highly recommend this spot.

    Raines Law Room is exactly what a speakeasy should be. Its behind an unmarked door (and not even a fancy looking door) in the center of Manhattan. You can easily miss it unless you know exactly where it is. Once there, youll be greeted at the door by a well dressed guy. Hell direct you to your seat on a red couch and youll enjoy the dimly lit, very old school regal looking speakeasy. They have an extensive menu of both stiffer cocktails and sweeter ones. You really cant go wrong no matter what you order. By the end of it, youll be judging all other speakeasies by this one.

    I didnt expect a place as lovely in this location. Its close to Grand Central and not necessarily a place I would ever seek out, being the Brooklyn girl that I am. The price point is a bit steep ($17 for a signature cocktail) BUT the old fashioned you can make yourself offers so many choices, the staff is wonderful and the cocktails are out of this world.
