Great place and so friendly. Good old icon Irish bar. No food but great ales. Gotta get some Harp THOUGH... LOL. Great and friendly bartender Nicky!! If you want a great drink youll never meet a stranger in this place.

Stumbled on this gem by chance, was able to catch the METS wildcard game to boot! Great place! 🇮🇪 “The Dublin House opened as a speakeasy in 1921. The neon harp, a mere 89 years old, made its first appearance in 1933, at the end of Prohibition.”👁️❤️🗽@dublinhousebarnyc #DublinHouse #DublinHouseBar #speakeasy #historic #HistoricBar #NYC #NewYork #NY #WestSide #Manhattan #GoMETS

We stopped in that small pub while walking in the upper west side. Very friendly, great atmosphere. We just stayed for a couple drinks but had a good time.

  • Review 4 (2024-06-27 - Rating: 4)

Great interior of the bar and it was good sitting at the bar.It was empty when we went in and two more couples came in after us. I had an Irish Mule which was the best Ive had in NY and husband had a lager. Lager was $8, my Irish Mule (Jamesons whisky ginger beer and lime)was $15 I think, quite expensive. Owner wasnt particularly talkative or friendly which was a shame as it is a lovely bar with good drinks. No Tato crisps in stock unfortunately.

  • Review 5 (2024-12-08 - Rating: 4)

The most authentic old school Irish Bar in the city, You will feel at home as soon as you walk in. Nothing fancy, a taste of true Ireland on the upper west side.

  • Review 6 (2024-01-14 - Rating: 5)

Great local place for drinks. Came to upper east side for work and wanted a local pub. This place was excellent. The house ale is also top notch.

  • Review 7 (2024-10-05 - Rating: 5)

This is such a class bar! Take care of the bartenders they are the real deal Tony and Mike. They have a great pint of Guinness, hot toddys, and good NY craic!October 2024 Update:Over 100 years as an active bar. Great Met bar!

  • Review 8 (2024-11-05 - Rating: 5)

I was staying in the Upper West Side late October for a week and came here twice as a single woman alone at night..great vibe, felt safe walking back to my hostel up Amsterdam..I will always return here next in NYC..there is also a Banksy right beside it

  • Review 9 (2024-09-19 - Rating: 5)

Lovely little Irish pub not far from central park (about a 10 minutes walk). As its quite central I expected the prices to be quite pricey, however the drinks were reasonably priced and very tasty cocktails. The customer service was great, the bartender was quick to take our order and make our drinks for us with a smile.I had left one of my belongings behind and worried that I wouldnt get it back. When I returned back at the bar, the bartender had put my belongings at the side and told me he kept them safe. So grateful for this.

  • Review 10 (2024-07-28 - Rating: 5)

Very comfortable; laid-back place to meet up with friends, watch a game, and have a beer or two.

  • Review 11 (2018-06-19 - Rating: 4)

Stopped in for a beer, after dinner at nearby Nice Matin. Good choices for Irish draft beer, not so much for craft beer. Ended up having a Guinness, served up by someone originally from Ireland. If you want to step into an earlier time, this place is a beautiful relic from New Yorks past.

  • Review 12 (2023-06-24 - Rating: 5)

Your ideal Irish pub. Opens at 11, although youll see Mike, the owner doing opening prep. But this is no problem whatsoever because hes the nicest Irish fellow youll converse with! I highly recommend the Dublin House Ale. Fantastic beer! I will be visiting this establishment every future trip to New York. Very clean and friendly atmosphere. ☘️💚

  • Review 13 (2024-12-09 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 15 (2024-01-24 - Rating: 5)

Great Irish pub and we had a quick drink here. The Irish lady at the bar was super friendly and we enjoyed our time here.

  • Review 16 (2023-06-30 - Rating: 5)

Always looking for a good, relaxing and laidback bar with mostly locals. Dublin House was a perfect place to spend a couple nights at during our summer visit. Love the UWS and loved this place too. Tony took care of us and was awesome as was the other patrons who were very welcoming to a couple of out of towners. Thanks

  • Review 17 (2023-08-29 - Rating: 5)

Stopped in here in and had the best poured Guinness I’ve had to this day. Great bar with history. Love the atmosphere and the patrons were so welcoming.

  • Review 18 (2022-05-23 - Rating: 5)

I visited this place for an event afterparty, so we got to hang out in the backroom. Its a fairly small place with an assortment of solid beers and cocktails. I had a few and enjoyed the party and the company. Given its proximity to the 1, its easy to get to and has a good pub vibe while still feeling moderately upscale.

  • Review 19 (2022-11-15 - Rating: 5)

Came here after midnight on a Monday!!! Great vibe, Jukebox! Lots of locals!Custom made (seasonal) pumpkin martinis and pumpkin espresso martinis! We don’t usually have those, but the nice bartender made yummy drinks we couldn’t resist.Thank you guys! Adding some photos to the profile! West side was amazing, but its getting pretty awesome Post covid!!!

  • Review 20 (2024-11-05 - Rating: 5)

    Great Irish dive bar.

  • Review 21 (2021-11-17 - Rating: 5)

Freshest and creamiest Guinness in Manhattan! I used to go here when I was young and working in NYC in the 80s. It hasnt changed a bit!! Celebrating their 100th anniversary this year! Long live The Dublin House 🎉

  • Review 22 (2020-02-23 - Rating: 5)

Love this place. I always go here when Im in the UWS. Good house ale, Irish bartender. Locals bar - dont go for fancy cocktails, but its good for a draft and some conversation. Bonus: they filmed an episode of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel here!

  • Review 23 (2012-09-10 - Rating: 4)

This is a neighborhood Irish bar where the bartenders are attentive, friendly, and apt to crack a joke. The crowd is super laid back and it is hardly ever packed (there is additional seating in the back room on the rare occasions it is). The lines and taps are cleaned regularly so there is no skunking like you will see at other neighborhood bars. The crowd is also considerably more mature (read older) than at most of the bars in blackout alley around the corner on Amsterdam.

  • Review 24 (2021-05-03 - Rating: 5)

Good ole Irish bar, one of the last remaining great people, good juke box, has a feel of a bar from another era, come in get nice and make new friends! A great place to have conversation, watch sports, relax and let go of your stress and worries.

  • Review 25 (2023-05-20 - Rating: 5)

Merica! America lives strong in UWS NYC!

  • Review 26 (2022-01-01 - Rating: 5)

Husband and I walked by after stepping off the subway. So glad we came in. Awesome atmosphere. The owner is wonderful. A true gem.

  • Review 27 (2021-08-22 - Rating: 5)

Very nice owner and classic bar. Celebrating 100 years in 2021 with cold Guinness and a good crowd. Go see Mike for a pint.

  • Review 28 (2022-10-12 - Rating: 4)

Banging cocktail menu, their summer mule is astounding.

  • Review 29 (2021-08-18 - Rating: 5)

The pic is of my g&t, which was perfect and refreshing. I also recommend ‘the bees knees’ (Gin, Lemon Juice, Honey & Simple Syrup) it was delicious and was shaken up with actual quality honey. We will be back. What a great spot.Plus, one of the last remaining places in the neighborhood where you can go out for drinks and not spend a fortune!

  • Review 30 (2022-04-23 - Rating: 5)

Good bar for a beer 🍺!!

  • Review 31 (2018-04-09 - Rating: 4)

We love a good dive bar, so when we say the Dublin House is a dive bar, we mean it as a compliment. Nice choice of ales on tap and the requisite Guinness, plus plenty of bottled options. Of course a full selection of whiskeys and other spirits. What you wont find is food - its a bar, a dive bar.

  • Review 32 (2024-03-18 - Rating: 5)

As Irish as they come. Guiness drawn with a near-perfect crown of head.

  • Review 33 (2023-02-07 - Rating: 5)

Great local spot. Friendly service. Real Irish feel. A wonderful spot to have a pint.

  • Review 39 (2017-01-27 - Rating: 5)

Nice ordinary bar. Their Dublin ale tasted exactly like bass ale, either way very good beer.

  • Review 40 (2019-02-01 - Rating: 5)

Cozy little bar with a friendly staff.

  • Review 41 (2017-02-26 - Rating: 4)

Last authentic Irish pub on the UWS. Great for groups. Great for couples. Beautiful bar. If you think the bartender doesnt like you, youre right.

Great place to grab a pint of Guinness!

  • Review 43 (2022-10-14 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 44 (2024-03-21 - Rating: 5)

Real, low-key Irish pub. Bartendress pour a perfect head on the Guiness.

  • Review 45 (2023-02-12 - Rating: 5)

Back for a drink after some years. Relieved to find it unchanged, and the no-frills service also unchanged!

  • Review 46 (2022-06-06 - Rating: 5)

It is a quiet old-fashioned pub. Great place to relax and rest.

  • Review 47 (2019-02-25 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 49 (2023-02-05 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 50 (2023-11-05 - Rating: 5)

Went for a mid-day baby shower and was impressed by the space and service. BYO food and seating for a nice group of people to celebrate. Owners constantly checking in and bussing tables. Would definitely recommend.

  • Review 51 (2023-10-05 - Rating: 5)

Same as it ever was.Upper West Side staple. I dont drink anymore but had to stop in to reminisce. Buddy of mine used to close this joint on the regular over thirty years ago.Nothings changed much with this joint which is a GREAT thing!

  • Review 56 (2023-06-29 - Rating: 5)

Cool NYC local bar.Tony is the best!

  • Review 57 (2023-08-21 - Rating: 5)

The neon sign drew us in - Dublin House is a great little local bar located on the Upper West Side!! The atmosphere is great (very old New York) and the location is ideal, as there is great walkability to other bars/restaurants through the UWS. I could imagine myself coming back here, the service is quick + efficient as well!

My old haunt when I lived on CPW and hadnt changed a bit.

  • Review 77 (2023-05-19 - Rating: 5)

Stepped in for coffee (dont try yourself). At first I felt that the bartender is a rude ### but then realized hes not. This is now on my favorites list in NY

  • Review 78 (2022-05-16 - Rating: 5)

Love the vintage, unaltered interiors of this traditional historic Irish pub. If youre in the area you must pop in for a pint of Guinness and a chat with the bartender.

  • Review 79 (2021-10-08 - Rating: 4)

Awesome 100 year old bar. Friendly staff. Had a few drinks on a Friday afternoon. Glad we did. Will stop again the next time were in town...Cheers.

  • Review 81 (2019-04-29 - Rating: 5)

Fantastic pub to get a beer with excellent service! A real Irish man running the pub who can give some good advise on the neighborhood. Would love to come more often but we’re just here for a few days. Definitely recommend this place!

  • Review 82 (2023-01-21 - Rating: 5)

Exactly what I wanted in a pint after work and before continuing on with my evening.

  • Review 83 (2022-10-19 - Rating: 4)

Dublin is ok but theyre culturally appropriating a city in Ireland. As a performative ally I need to act like this upsets me.

  • Review 84 (2022-04-27 - Rating: 5)

Highly recommend a great irish bar mick the owner and Tony the barman are good hosts and the guiness is just like home

  • Review 85 (2019-01-10 - Rating: 5)

It was freezing outside & windy. Saw the sign for happy hr. I recommend the apple cider & Rum on a day like this. Service was great, so were the patrons! Great place

  • Review 86 (2021-09-16 - Rating: 5)

Its a fairly authentic Irish pub because its not trying to look like an authentic Irish pub. The fellow who will try to convince you that his Guinness is better than anyone elses definitely has the right accent to do the job.

  • Review 87 (2017-10-29 - Rating: 5)

A no frills dive bar with cold beer.

  • Review 88 (2018-06-28 - Rating: 4)

A relic of working class NYC but with better beer.

  • Review 89 (2018-07-06 - Rating: 4)

Watched a World Cup game here. A bit pricey, but you are right next to Times Square. They had Strongbow cider on tap when I was there which is not easy to find. The atmosphere was great and my 2 bartenders, who were Irish, were great. I would go back here again.

  • Review 90 (2022-08-05 - Rating: 5)

Fantastic place for a cold pint.

  • Review 91 (2016-06-25 - Rating: 5)

Maybe its partly sentiment, but I love Dublin House. When I lived in Manhattan it was the cheapest pint of Guinness in town (@ $7 in 2016 it might still be)). Its a shame that it has a sports bars worth of TVs battling the amazing, dark welcoming atmosphere now. But I still love it. Its a traditional Irish drinkers bar, and a must go to for me on every New York trip.

  • Review 92 (2022-02-05 - Rating: 5)

Nice and peaceful ✌️ ✌️ .. Where you can have a drink tranquilo ...

  • Review 93 (2018-09-14 - Rating: 5)

Old-school bar. You’ll either love this place or hate it (I loved it). This bar opened during prohibition, but is only “officially” open since 1933 (when it became legal to drink again). The bartender told me a story of a woman who came in and asked what time the kitchen closed. The owner told her “1976.” Needless to say, they don’t serve food.

  • Review 94 (2019-09-28 - Rating: 5)

I stopped here on a bar crawl and had the pleasure of sitting in the back room which was full of small booths. No table service in the back, so be sure to grab a drink from the efficient bartender before settling in for the evening. I dont know if they take cards as the ATM was prominently displayed up front, but a Bud Light will run you $6/bottle.Bonus: Look at the wall of Zabars; theres a Banksy there!

Real Irish pub. Just as you would expect. Not clean but somehow quaint. The owner behind the counter isnt unfriendly, but hes not exactly friendly either. So more of a cool Irish. Would go again with friends for a two or three cozy beer or cider. I think you can very well “sink” in a positive way.
