Jared is wonderful. This cigar bar feels intimate & is completely unlike the other one or two clubs/restaurants/bars attached to it. In here, you have low, leather seating and seats at the bar. Everything is fine and soothing. You can smoke and there is also a selection. Staff are not pretentious. You can have a wonderful experience and enjoy New York without any feeling of hustle or extreme. I love it. I saw someone even relaxing in there alone. I think it is a perfect place to go with a dear friend to relax and talk about things or reflect. This is my favorite place so far in the city. It is not a place to mingle. It also does not smell badly. Wonderful, chill and quiet little place.

One of the few remaining cigar places in the city. They have a decent collection of cigars and premium liquors. Service is attentive and timely. The ventilation is decent given the place is below street level. They have Russian Caviar on the menu served with crackers and condiments. The atmosphere is old school lounge style. Food menu is also decent.

It was great the food was good.I gave 4 star because the bartender chaege me for a diffeent package, he gave us the highest experience: The high Life Havana= $125 PP, I guess he didnt check the reservation I only realized when i got the bill....

Amazing service. My friends and I stopped by late, and the cozy atmosphere, the chill music, and the hospitality of this place was just what we needed to end the night. Great place to actually converse with people and enjoy a fine cigar. Look forward to coming back again very soon. Big shoutout to the one bartender running everything.

Dark and Cozy spot had a nice cocktail I forgot the name. We did some shots and Dee recommended food since we were pre gaming for a bachelor party. They carry Davidoffs, My Father, Padron, and Camacho. Bartenders are baddies and service was great too. Dee and Andrea always take the best care of us. The vibes were immaculate. Beautiful people. Beautiful spot and decent whiskey & cigar selection. The steak and chicken lollipops were great recommendations. I may come back just for that.

Merchant Cigar bar is a quaint and low key spot. The service is nothing short of excellent. Our server Sebastian really catered to our every need and his recommendations were top notch. We were nothing but impressed. He personalized our experience based on our needs. The staff really caters to you creating only good vibes and a great time. Definitely a spot to chill, relax, and to enjoy a good smoke or two.

My first time at a cigar bar - as well as smoking a cigar - but I enjoyed the experience very much overall. Lowlight, upscale/casual atmosphere. I got the sweet potato spiced latte and NY Connoisseur cigar. The cocktail was rich with spices and coffee, it was really nice to sip on through the evening. The cigar was good in my opinion too - though like I said, first time - and I caught a nice buzz after a while. Service was great, cash and card are accepted here.

Nice vibe overall and hangout spot. Good vibes in here. Didnt have a reservation and they were still able to sit my party of 6. Music was good too, but the person playing the music was hard skipping some songs in the middle of them which was abrupt sometimes.

Had a wonderful time here on my birthday. The hostess was amazing. She was delightful, she explained each drink and cigar that we tried. She also was very expressive of the different flavors, scents, tastes associated with each item. Our hostess even shared with us which were her favorites when suggesting things for us to try. Our favorite cocktails were the bartenders creations or personal experiments. While you may have your favorite drink always allow a bartender to exhibit their creativity at least once and have them make you a drink of their choosing based off of your preferences. This place is awesome and I cant wait to go back.

I came here after work to celebrate a colleagues birthday. Although Im not a smoker, I did enjoy Merchant Cigar Bars elaborate cocktail menu! If you enjoy a well made drink, I highly recommend this place.In addition, the ambiance is fantastic and its an overall beautiful bar.Finally, the service was great and the folks here were super friendly.Pro-tip: Do you enjoy an old fashioned? I recommend their Corleones Choice. Its Merchants take on the classic cocktail.

One of only five or so cigar bars left in Manhattan, Merchants delivers everything you could want in such an establishment. From cushy chairs, to a full bar, to classy service, Merchants pretty much hits all the bases. Oh? Did I mention they know their cigars pretty darn well too.Its a unique experience to find a good cigar bar in NYC, and Merchants is certainly a place to find it.

This place is an amazing experience. I took my fiancé for his birthday this past Friday. Jared is an expert in mixology. Every cocktail he made us went perfect with our cigars. The sweet potato pie cocktail at the end was something I never knew I needed.

Great vibes, great service, good food, and amazing drinks! My husband and I got the Havana High Life package. We highly recommend it. I cannot speak highly enough about Davions cocktails, they were absolutely perfect! Our waitress really knew what she was doing and recommend a great cigar.Based on the website I was afraid we would be the only POC, but it was definitely not the case. There was a diverse group all night.Will be going again soon!

We came here for a night out with friends. I loved the atmosphere. 1/2 of us did the experience with the 2 different flights of specialized drinksfir our palates of taste. The other 1/2 ordered off the menu as they had dietary restrictions. All the food was great, hot, fresh, seasoned well, presented nicely. 2 things tho, 1. Not really any substantial vegan or vegetarian foods offered other than side dishes of asparagus, kale, potatoes. A small tapas plate or grilled veg plate would have been nice. #2. The food came out so fast, we couldnt enjoy our apps with our selected drinks, dinner was right on top of it. We werent in a rush, questioning that would have been easy to do.The dessert was yummy. Our cigars selected for us were very enjoyable and may become a staple at home. Our bartender/mixologist was fantastic! Thanks for a great night out after a year or so of being cooped up. We will totally recommend your business and will hopefully be back again soon.

He custom creates cocktails based on what flavors, ingredients, and taste you prefer.You can smoke cigars and enjoy the classic Cocktails or speak to the bartender with a brief description of what you like and he will create a custom drink.You can also enjoy sporting events on their TV they have lounge style seating very comfortable and a nice food menu.

I have been going to Merchants Cigar Bar for over a year now. Its a great space to enjoy a premium cigar and drink. The Head Bartender, Jared, is a master in his craft. The whole staff is amiable and will make sure you have a pleasant time. If you are in the area, Merchants is a must.

Food was great, service was bad. Instead of being attentive, the staff was laughing around with each other and being on their phones. We got the restaurant week course which is simple, yet waited about an hour for dessert which set us back on time since we were supposed to smoke after eating. There were finished plates that sat on the table for a long time. They were laughing over peoples food, I really dont trust them, and wouldnt send a dish back, because they seem like the type to do something to your food..... there was no care or apologies after the delay or sloppiness, they seemed like they didnt care at all. I always tip good for food service, and they didnt deserve 20% from me which they didnt get.The filet mignon was great, and extremely tender! The lobster Mac was wet, Im used to baked Mac, but it was Delicious and cheesy, and had a strong lobster and sea taste which was a great compliment to the starter rather than the Mac and cheese part overpowering the dish.As for cigar selection, I definitely expected more from a cigar bar. I think in comparison to a place like soho cigar bar which doesnt have as good food or as good of an atmosphere, they should try to stock more variety, but there are some great cigars for every smoker whether you want mild, full, cheap or expensive.All in, if you want good food, you will get it there, the chef(s) deserve a raise if they havent gotten one. If you want a good cigar to smoke in a place with good ventilation and atmosphere, youll definitely get it there. If you want good service, dont look forward to it, they need retraining or new staffing.Even though the service was one of the worse Ive had, my rating is high because the food was great along with the atmosphere.

Off the beaten path and tucked away but a local gem.Their Whiskey selection is deep but their steaks run out quickly.We had a small Bachelor party and were accommodated in every way. Highly recommend for any occasion if you’re looking for a Great low key relaxing spot with good food and good cocktails. I went on a Thursday evening, loved the ambiance. The air ventilation can improve but not the biggest deal. I would consider different lighting options also (it feels more like a basement bar than a warm lounge). Service was great, super kind/playful staff. They were sweet and surprised us with a birthday whiskey on house. I don’t know much about cigars but they’re very knowledgeable so just ask for recommendations/education. If I lived in NY I would frequent this place regularly 1000%
