Maison Premiere is an absolute gem for seafood lovers and anyone seeking a romantic dining experience. While the service could be more friendly and professional, the dimly lit, beautifully designed interior exudes timeless charm, creating the perfect ambiance for a special evening. Their oysters are impeccably fresh, offering a stunning variety that satisfies even the most discerning palate. The lobster rolls are nothing short of divine, with buttery, tender lobster nestled in a perfectly toasted bun. From start to finish, Maison Premiere delivers on every front, making it a must-visit destination for an unforgettable meal.

  • Review 2 (2024-05-22 - Rating: 5)

Maison Premiere offers excellent service and a small but well-curated menu. While the wine selection wasnt entirely to my taste, it complements the seafood offerings perfectly. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the service is sharp and attentive. However, the hostess, though very friendly, seemed unable to distinguish between guests looking to indulge and those just stopping in for a quick drink.

  • Review 3 (2024-11-22 - Rating: 5)

Great cocktails and fun, knowledgeable bartenders, the space has a great vibe. Oyster selection and quality are the best in all the boroughs.

  • Review 4 (2024-04-05 - Rating: 5)

Great place that combines oysters and cocktails. I visited for weekend brunch and had an amazing experience. Their signature cocktails are the ones with absinthe, I tried the Chrysanthemum and I loved it. Food is mostly seafood and of course the highlight are the oysters. Top hospitality from all the team.

  • Review 5 (2024-12-08 - Rating: 5)

Maison Premiere provides outstanding service and features a thoughtfully curated, albeit limited, menu. The wine selection, though not entirely to my liking, pairs beautifully with the seafood dishes. The ambiance is exceptional, and the staff delivers prompt and attentive service. However, despite her warm and welcoming demeanor, the hostess appeared to struggle in distinguishing between patrons seeking a full dining experience and those dropping by for a quick drink.

We stopped here for cocktails and oysters before our dinner. It was spectacular!! Mary Grace was our server and she was awesome. Our drinks were taking a while and she brought us champagne to make up for it. We were celebrating our friends birthday and she surprised us with a delicious crème brûlée. Definitely recommend going there, the atmosphere was awesome and unique and cocktails were delicious.

  • Review 7 (2024-05-14 - Rating: 5)

Went here for cocktails yesterday and had an amazing experience! Each drink was beautiful and delicious, and the service was steady and attentive. We sat in the garden, which I highly recommend on a nice day. Im looking forward to coming back!Just a note for fellow vegetarians, this is a seafood forward menu. We knew this going in, sk werent planning to eat a meal and didnt try the food.

  • Review 8 (2024-06-06 - Rating: 5)

Gorgeous restaurant and really nice staff. We sat in the garden. The oysters were all exceptional. I’d get more seafood on ice next time.

  • Review 9 (2023-12-25 - Rating: 5)

Really great experience. My first time back in ~7 years and it’s better than I remember. Impressive oyster list - at least 25 varieties from all over. Group favorite was Raspberry Point from PEI. Favorite cocktail was The Shining Path (also tried the cobbler and the Pimm’s cup, also good but on sweeter side). Food wise we had the lobster roll, clam toast, and the beef cheek. Clam toast was my favorite out of those. Service and atmosphere were great as well.

  • Review 10 (2024-02-04 - Rating: 5)

Everything from the servers uniform to the music made the atmosphere amazing. The service was great our server AJ took very good care of us. We came for the oysters and they did not disappoint. I would highly recommend if you’re looking for oysters and cocktails.

  • Review 11 (2024-11-19 - Rating: 5)

Food was great, drinks were great. My one feedback: If my reservation is for 2 hours, and each round of drinks take 40~ minutes to serve, you do not leave much time to enjoy a second round. This is further compounded by how fast the raw bar food comes out.

  • Review 12 (2024-09-25 - Rating: 5)

An impeccable experience that makes you feel like youve stepped into a vintage French restaurant in the New Orleans French Quarter. The food is always delicious and the cocktails are absolutely amazing. Go for a date or celebration or just for fun. Lunch, Brunch and Dinner are always buzzing here. This is one restaurant that will truly never disappoint you. Added bonus: the back yard is truly fantastic in warmer weather if you can get it.

  • Review 13 (2024-11-28 - Rating: 5)

Great for oysters and excellent cocktail bar staff. My favourite was the lobster roll.

  • Review 14 (2023-01-05 - Rating: 5)

Thursday night and still crowded. I love the ambiance of this place so much, very cool round bar and beautiful romantic backyard. Drinks are fancy, I asked the bartender to make something creative for me and he made Jungle bird which is fruity and refreshing:) my friends and I will come back another time for oysters and food.

  • Review 15 (2024-03-03 - Rating: 5)

Wow…! If you follow my reviews, you probably know I’m picky. Sitting in Maison Premiere right now and I have no words except awesome! These are the nicest waiters that i’ve ever met in the whole New York City restaurant experience until now, trust me, we’ve been to Michelin-starred restaurants and the waiters can’t compare to the genuine feeling that the waiters here make us feel. Amazing drinks; try to get a table along the bar then you can enjoy the bartender shows, they are pros. Well, we go to restaurants to enjoy food, right? So here comes the food review: oysters and shrimp are fresh, we tried raw scallops for the first time, and it opened some channels in my brain lol, best pork chop we’ve ever had, charred on the outside, super tender inside. We got the crème brûlée; it was smooth, creamy. I did taste a hint of alcohol in it which is a plus since I like desserts with alcohol associated with it. I have no better words now; will come back for a check and balance review. So far, I enjoy the experience, atmosphere, and the people here. LOVE it! Sorry no food fotos, I was amazed by the food forgot to take picture lol. Yeah it was that good!

Incredible place! Sat at the Oyster Bar, and Joel took care of us. He recommended great picks for the oysters and had a great time thanks to his service! Cocktails were also great

  • Review 17 (2024-09-14 - Rating: 5)

Very unique experience with a wide selection of oysters. Felt like you were transported directly to New Orleans. Highly recommend the muscles. It’s best suited for oysters, cocktails, and small plates rather than a full sit down meal although you can make that work if you’re going for it.

  • Review 18 (2022-08-08 - Rating: 5)

We live in UES, NYC and decided to make the trek to Brooklyn to Maison Premiere because my wife was in the mood for some good seafood and oysters. This restaurant was fantastic from the NOLA vibes to the amazing cocktails, with most importantly the food was delicious! Every single item we tried made us more excited to try the next dish we ordered. All the staff there were super nice and helpful. We would definitely come back here for a date night and some more oysters. Definitely make sure you make a reservation before going since they are very popular and busy.

  • Review 19 (2024-04-20 - Rating: 4)

Stepping into Maison Premiere is like being whisked away to a quaint French escape, right in the heart of Brooklyns bustling Williamsburg. This charming venue not only offers a respite from the citys hustle but delights with its meticulous decor and an atmosphere reminiscent of a New Orleans or Parisian café. During my visit, I indulged in a selection of oysters, each distinct in flavor, perfectly chilled, and expertly presented. The Cem & Chicories Salad was a fresh, vibrant accompaniment to the meal, and the Littleneck Clam Toast was an absolute treat, with a delightful balance of textures and flavors. The real allure of Maison Premiere goes beyond its food. The interior, with its artful blend of old-world charm and modern finesse, makes you linger longer. From the absinthe fountain to the vintage suits of the bartenders, every detail contributes to an immersive experience. For anyone looking to enjoy not just a meal, but a beautifully curated experience, Maison Premiere should be at the top of your list.

First time coming here and it was wonderful. We had an rsvp for 4 pm which was great because it wasnt busy and prefect. The servers were very nice and helped us with whatever questions we had about our dishes.

  • Review 21 (2024-05-28 - Rating: 5)

Despite the bustling atmosphere of a long weekends late lunch hour, everything was spot-on: the food, service, and music were all exceptional!

  • Review 22 (2024-11-08 - Rating: 5)

We absolutely adored our experience here. Aya made us feel so special on our anniversary, as well as helped us with some SPECTACULAR food and drink recommendations, as well as recommended things around town for us LA Natives to explore while here. The vibe was adorable and I highly recommend sitting in the outside courtyard under the pergola, the vibe is the cutest. The oyster list was expansive and the oysters themselves were so fresh and delicious. Absolutely recommend! Thanks again, Aya!

  • Review 23 (2024-11-06 - Rating: 5)

Oyster bar with lovely cocktails, back garden & non alcoholic cocktails. on the expensive side but great service & atmosphere

  • Review 24 (2024-05-23 - Rating: 5)

One of NYC’s top cocktail bars. New Orleans influenced decor and menu revealing absinthe cocktails, other pre-prohibition libations, seafood towers, tin ceilings and studiously pealing paint. Go early to get your spot at the coveted U shaped bar. The back garden - under an ancient wisteria pergola - is also magical. Highly recommend the table-side martini presentation. Don’t miss one of the city’s best raw bars. Get the She Wolf bread with seaweed butter to pair with oysters or crudo. Solid lobster rolls. James Beard award-winning and Michelin recommended.

  • Review 25 (2023-10-13 - Rating: 5)

It was a lovely brunch date at Maison Premiere. The garden in the back is spectacular. The cocktails are amazing and so are the oysters. It’s definitely perfect for a romantic date with such delicious food 👍

  • Review 26 (2024-05-18 - Rating: 5)

Amazing food and service. Love the interior and the outdoor garden space. The staff is super friendly. Incredible selection of oysters. Just know this is mostly a raw food/appetizers place. If you’re looking for entrees you may want to go somewhere else after this.

  • Review 27 (2022-04-13 - Rating: 5)

I love this bar. The vibe was cool. The drinks were amazing. We only got a few appetizers at the bar. Everything was delicious. I plan on going back with my husband. If you love great cocktails. This is definitely the place to be.I will also add that the hostess was really nice and got us seated right away.

  • Review 28 (2024-07-31 - Rating: 5)

The garden area was so cute! I loved their oyster selections. Oysters were fresh and tasty. We also ordered steamed mussels and it was delicious. Would definitely come again!

  • Review 29 (2024-08-28 - Rating: 5)

Waited a bit for a spot at the bar, but worth the wait - I asked the bartender to recommend two maximally different absinthes to try side-by-side, and very much enjoyed both the contrasting absinthe varieties and his explanation of the difference in styles :-) Also had a delightful dinner (an assortment of oysters, bread with seaweed butter, and the _excellent_ gem & chicories salad - the second half of which I brought home for lunch tomorrow, because it was enough salad for a full meal on its own).Updated to add: its also a very, very good spot for a date :-)

  • Review 30 (2024-08-27 - Rating: 5)

I have never had a bad experience here. There is something for everyone in terms of drinks - the martinis are unbelievable, the oysters are fresh, the service is top notch. Last night I brought a friend that had never been and they were said it was fun, approachable, and nice enough to bring the parents.

  • Review 31 (2024-12-10 - Rating: 4)

Cosy establishment with old school furniture and decor. It is such a warm feeling to visit. Oysters were good. The absinthe cocktail was alright.

  • Review 32 (2024-04-21 - Rating: 5)

Great little spot for an evening drink in this prohibition-era speakeasy with exceptional attention to detail. Their sezerac table service is as informative as it is entertaining. Really excellent cocktails. I cant comment on the food as we didnt eat but Im confident it will be of an equally high standard

  • Review 33 (2022-01-17 - Rating: 5)

So so happy to see them open again since this is my #1 spot to go to for oysters and a nice vibe. The food was delicious if not better than i last remember and our server Jack was super sweet and attentive and gave phenomenal recommendations. Looking forward to our next visit!P.S if you can request to sit at the oysters bar please do so because the experience in my opinion is the best. The oystertainer (i believe is what you call these professionals) was energetic and helpful we also had a nice conversation about his background and skills which was nice.

  • Review 34 (2023-12-27 - Rating: 4)

My evening at this restaurant was a rollercoaster of experiences, and Im keen to share every detail with you. My long-awaited late-night date here was something I had been anticipating for ages, having marked this spot on my list quite some time ago. Living in Long Island, I always hope for a seamless dining experience, especially given the travel involved. Our arrival on a busy Saturday night was met with the news of a fully booked venue and a staggering wait time of a couple of hours, despite visibly available tables and bar seats. Although discouraged by this and the unusual policy of not being allowed to wait at the bar, we decided not to give up and headed to order a drink. Here, we encountered John, the bartender, whose behavior was less than professional, to say the least.Refusing to let this ruin our night, I took matters into my own hands. I found and booked an open reservation online, then approached the manager, Gloria. This marked a significant turn in our experience. Gloria was understanding and swiftly addressed our situation, offering us wine while we waited for our table, which was quickly prepared. From that point on, the service was impeccable. The oysters and clams were exceptional, the drinks delightful, and the lobster roll and sashimi were top-notch. A special thanks to the waitstaff and Gloria for showcasing the true quality of this restaurant. While the initial interaction with the hostess and John was deeply disappointing, Glorias intervention salvaged our evening.I highly recommend trying the food and wine here. Despite the rocky start, the quality of the meal and the latter part of our experience are reasons enough to visit.

  • Review 35 (2019-05-11 - Rating: 5)

We would have never found this place if our local Foodie friends hadn’t told us about it. It hardly has a sign, but once you walk in, it’s a different world! It’s an amazing oyster bar that they can easily go through 2000 oysters a day. Incredible Absinthe menu and very good cocktails! But if you just like a good craft beer? They’ve got it on tap, and/or wines and bubbles, they have it all!

  • Review 36 (2024-10-09 - Rating: 5)

Just want a give a shout out to the amazing hostess Sarah for the wonderful door service! Also met the wonderful Manager Danase who honestly made our night! And also the amazing service from Mary Grace and also Dominique! Also apart from the wonderful service, the food and drinks was absolute STUNNING ✨💫

  • Review 37 (2019-09-24 - Rating: 4)

Came here Monday for happy hourJust wait a couple minute for them to clean up the tables. We got garden seats. Its very cute but serious not too comfortable tho.2 of us decide to get 2 fozen and that include everything for one from happy hour.Everything is amazing. I like discovery bay the most. It had stronger taste than others. So after a dozen oyster, we decide to go for another half dozen.Amazing place for fresh oyster!

  • Review 38 (2022-07-12 - Rating: 4)

I had heard about this place and when I found out the friends I was visiting lived only a block away, I had to check it out. We had made a reservation for 9 pm, and when we checked in, were told that the group at our table was finishing up and would be done soon. We were happy to sit at the counter next to the front window and peruse the menu while we waited. We ended up waiting around 20 minutes and the hostess brought us complimentary glasses of champagne to thank us for waiting. The bar and restaurant itself are beautifully decorated and I really enjoyed just taking it all in. I got the Inverness (an absinthe cocktail) and it was delicious and beautifully presented (as were all the other drinks). The only thing that didn’t wow me about this place was the food - we got two different types of oysters that were delicious, but both of the crudo plates we got (the yellowtail and the scallops) were a little underwhelming. The scallops had a truffle sauce on them, and even though I love truffle, it was a bit too much. And the yellowtail just felt like it was lacking something - like the flavors didn’t really compliment each other well.Overall it was still a great experience and a lot of fun, and would definitely recommend visiting if you’re in Williamsburg!

  • Review 39 (2017-08-14 - Rating: 5)

There is a huge variety on the raw bar here and it is delicious! The drinks are good, but it is primarily an absinth bar. I am not a fan of it, bit if you are this is an absinth paradise. Try to go early for happy hour because it becomes difficult to get a seat. The decor is French inspired and their yard is really stunning. I would go there just to hang out in the yard.Update aug 14, 2017. The oysters are still superb but the variety is less. Also they are no longer $1 at happy hour. They range from 1.35-1.50 but still worth it for the quality.

  • Review 40 (2018-04-29 - Rating: 4)

Just like all nice places, it fills up quickly. Charming, friendly, good for oysters and cocktails. I did not try all the food, but the brunch menu looked decent. The wine selection is pretty good as well. Only wish the wine glasses were bigger and more high end. These small, “airplane” like glasses don’t do justice to the wine.

  • Review 41 (2021-12-14 - Rating: 5)

We popped in for just a couple of drinks before heading out to dinner.I loved the place and the service! We grabbed a seat at the bar, which was the best spot to be at for just drinks. The bartender was so nice and friendly each time we asked “what’s the drink?”Will definitely come back to the old century looking bar!!

  • Review 42 (2024-11-12 - Rating: 5)

I’ve been there many times since before the pandemic until nowadays. There are a variety of oysters and still maintaining high quality standards. The best oysters in nyc for me. Definitely come back again

  • Review 43 (2019-10-04 - Rating: 5)

Maison Premiere is perfect for brunch and date night. Went there for happy hour and $1-$1.50 oysters. Service was really good. The outside garden is really beautiful but mind the bugs that bite and fall! Otherwise, definitely a place to be if you ever end up in Williamsburg.

  • Review 44 (2023-09-18 - Rating: 5)

Premium New Yorky cocktail and oyster bar! Nice people and atmosphere. Good service, attention to details. High quality of food (raw fish) and drinks. Higly recommended for an elegant and vibrant night in Williamsburg

  • Review 45 (2019-04-21 - Rating: 5)

We stumbled into Maison Premiere on Easter as we strolled through Williamsburg. They have an excellent wine list and a stellar selection of cocktails. All is balanced by a deep menu of fresh oysters and seafood. We had the brunch shrimp and grits...phenomenal. Might be our favorite stop in this trip to NYC!

  • Review 46 (2019-06-09 - Rating: 5)

One of the favorite thing we like to do on Memorial Day is to have a brunch at Maison Premiere. They have special menu for this day, and usually opens earlier on this day then usual. They have a large bar, taking up most of the space. They have table seating around the bar, to the side, front, and yes, to the back. Not many seating as you can imagine, and with that, wait time can get a bit crazy…reservation is recommended! The BEST part of this place (to me) is their amazing, beautiful, so super-fantastic patio in the back! It is such relaxing space, a true oasis in the busy Brooklyn street. With the huge bar upfront, they do offer some impressive cocktail and Absinthe menu. We ordered Maison Jungle Bird and Maison Piña Colada. Fun, tasty, and high quality. Piña Colada was extra awesome, it came in a Whole Young Coconut! For food, we had some oysters and Memorial Day Special items. Oysters were all super fresh, not fishy in any way, and yes, tasty! Memorial Day Specials were St. Louis Ribs, and Beef Brisket. Delicious, decadent, filling and really nicely done! I enjoyed the brisket more than the ribs, but my hubby really enjoyed the ribs. The service was great, warm and welcoming, polite and friendly. Our server Rachel, who was really lovely, took a good care of us. We had another amazing time here, cant wait to go back already!

  • Review 47 (2022-05-09 - Rating: 5)

Maison Premiere was a fantastic experience. Every cocktail was delicious and the presentation was top tier. The oysters were great and the staff was incredible. This will become a regular hangout spot for my trips to New York.

  • Review 48 (2024-12-07 - Rating: 5)

Beautiful oysters and champagne! Had one of the best oysters of my whole life. Our server Matt was incredible!

  • Review 49 (2024-07-17 - Rating: 5)

Simply incredible. Top notch Oysters. The best of NYC. No comparison. The music, every song they play you will want to save. The service, 10/10. Simply nothing but the best and somewhere you will go back to. Impeccable. The Martini was also one of the best I’ve ever had. 🍸Cannot wait to come back! 🦪

  • Review 50 (2018-09-30 - Rating: 4)

Love this place. The atmosphere and food was amazing. Service could have been more attentive and quicker. We sat on the outdoor garden area which was an relaxing and beautiful experience. The vibes were great. The steak tartar was amazing. I recommend ordering oysters and appetizers separately instead of ordering the plateaux. It was awkward distributing all the dishes. However everything was great overall, including the cocktails. Would definitely com again

  • Review 51 (2018-02-01 - Rating: 5)

Gotta love an absinthe bar. No matter what drink you get or straight absinthe you will love it. Get some oysters too! We ordered the chef selection and had a great assortment.

  • Review 52 (2024-07-19 - Rating: 5)

We have visited Maison Premiere two times now, both experiences were different but satisfying. The first time we went to eat but just missed the kitchen/oysters, so we settled to just get cocktails. A unique menu with a true prohibition feel, unlike any experience I’ve had before in NYC. The second time, we made sure to get there before the kitchen closed and we were not disappointed! We are huge oyster fans and found the selection to be vast and invigorating, with several options from different places on the East and west coast, to Japan and British Columbia. We spent time looking into each oyster that we were interested in and eventually pinpointed the options that we favored most. They were all outstanding and I truthfully cannot wait to visit again! We blindly selected oysters we thought we would be interested in based on the regions and found out after asking the server that several of our choices were chef selections for the evening! Side note- I’m not really a big vodka drinker, but I decided to pair my oysters with a dirty vodka martini and it was perfectly balanced, I enjoyed it a lot! Dope experience 10/10 recommend for a cute, intimate date night!

  • Review 53 (2024-04-15 - Rating: 5)

We wanted a smorgasbord of items to share, and didnt find a entree that we were in the mood for.We had...Jumbo Shrimp CocktailOystersScrambled EggsRoasted PotatoesMixed Greens SaladBiscuits (We ordered seconds!)The seafood here is so amazingly fresh and really delicious! The biscuits are pure heaven. Theyre sweet and baked perfectly. We had to order seconds! It comes with in house made butter and jam - TDF!Definitely coming back for seafood and biscuits! Everything else was good, but nothing to write home about. The food is very heavy so be prepared to be in food coma!Service was good.

Such a wonderful experience. Came for cocktails and oysters without a reservation. Oyster selection was extensive and cocktails were truly unique. The outdoor garden is beautiful and service is A+.

What a great bar great atmosphere food is on point cocktails are spectacular. Don’t hesitate to find a spot in this bar. Any evening you’re looking for great entertainment.

  • Review 57 (2019-01-16 - Rating: 5)

Let me start by saying the food was absolutely fantastic. The service however, second to none! Our server, Leo, was professional, extremely knowledgeable about the menu and bar list, which I knew about 10% of the ingredients, and really made the night memorable. I had told him we were celebrating an anniversary and the manager, Ryan, brought over complimentary champagne. We were floored. I can’t recommend this place enough. Great food, great drinks, especially the absinthe drips, great ambiance, and beyond great service!

A great place. The atmosphere is just what you would expect in Williamsburg! The cocktails are excellent, A knock out. Don’t forget the oysters: they are delicious.

  • Review 60 (2019-08-29 - Rating: 5)

Chic New Orleans inspired cocktail and oyster bar in Williamsburg that strives for excellence with every unique cocktail and regionally sourced oyster that is masterfully assembled on their menu. Maison Premiere offers an intimate experience whether you’re dining at the front bar or seated in their beautiful atmospheric garden. You feel as if you’re surrounded by eloquence and brilliance while you sip and dine. I recommend stopping by during happy hour when many of the famed oysters are $1 versus their norm of $3.50. As for drinks, you can’t go wrong. Choose a spirit of your liking and trust the expert bartenders to deliver a memorable elixir. I enjoyed the Á la Louisiane a rye based drink that draws comparison to a Manhattan but with a delightful, earthy twist. In addition to the robust and diverse cocktail ensemble, you’ll find a section of their menu dedicated specifically for absinth based drinks which is another uncommon and under appreciated perk. Maison Premiere is an ideal option for a first date that you’re trying to impress or for those who appreciate a well concocted and creatively delicious cocktail.

LOVED this place! Our waiter was super friendly and helped us choose cocktails. The raw bar was really fresh + the backyard patio is really beautiful now that the weather is nice. Will be coming back!

Nice place for oyster lovers!!There are so many choices of oysters from west coast to east coast!! Little bit expensive, but lovely place.

  • Review 63 (2023-03-17 - Rating: 5)

This is definitely one of my favorite cocktail bars in the world. Tucked away from the street, youd have no idea this little NOLA themed oasis is behind those little narrow doors. And when I say themed, dont think rainforest cafe - think the cutest oyster bar in the French Quarter with everything exactly as it should be. Sherry cobbler cocktail is my long time fave.

  • Review 64 (2021-06-20 - Rating: 5)

Oldie but a goodie. This place has been around for 10 years, looks like its been here much longer (1920s vibe), but in the best way possible. Beautiful oysters and super interesting drinks, like my thai coconut pina colada which is less gimmicky than it sounds! Super friendly bartenders, Jordan is the best. I think everyone’s just happy to be back! I definitely will be back again soon. They have a patio as well which i didnt have a chance to check out - will correct that next time.

  • Review 65 (2019-05-01 - Rating: 5)

Great spot for shellfish and cocktails. The garden is gorgeous (indoor seating is a bit tight). Service for drinks is on the slow side, but understandable considering the amazing presentation/garnishes.

This is my second time visiting and I will definitely return again. Their oysters and scallop crudo is so fresh! The scallops were like butter how they almost melted in my mouth! Now the hot toddy coupled with the servers presentation of the drink and the drink itself, amazing!! They shall see me again!

  • Review 74 (2017-05-10 - Rating: 4)

Delicious selection of oysters, clams and shrimps. The decoration is fabulous: the bar is a former pharmacy. If you like absinthe, this is your spot.

  • Review 75 (2022-08-08 - Rating: 4)

Cute spot for oyster lovers though a little bit pricey with some oysters going up to $4.75 a pop, and relatively small portions on some of the other items

A bit of an ordeal getting in but this is it. Food program is very good and the oysters are some of the best you can get in the city. Cocktails are delicious and underrated. The restaurant is beautiful and vibes. I wish it were more under the radar, would be here every week.

Always one of the top notch, prime gems of Williamsburg. An iconic throwback to oyster-shucking, absinthe cocktail bars of Europe. Wonderful staff, delicious food and drinks, and a very unique experience. Whether youre sitting at the bar, the oyster bar, or the back patio, the environment is always just right.

  • Review 84 (2024-08-27 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 85 (2023-07-16 - Rating: 5)

If youre looking for oysters and...absinthe, a combination which you may not find anywhere else in the city, particularly with such variety, look no further than Maison Premiere. The space itself has a period Parisienne vibe and the backyard is enchanting and magical.

  • Review 86 (2019-04-04 - Rating: 5)

Get there early, like before 330 on a weekday because after that, good luck finding a bar seat. The place is classy, oldworld looking, and yet hip and modern at once. The drinks menu is interesting without being try-hard or pretentious. Best if you like absinthe, but you really cant go wrong with any cocktail. And if you dig the sea for food, get some happy hour oysters when it starts at 4.

  • Review 87 (2019-03-05 - Rating: 5)

My husband & I love oysters and we had the best oysters we have ever had here. They were each so unique and with very distinct flavors.Ask to sit in the garden, best spot in the house!

  • Review 88 (2024-07-31 - Rating: 5)

Best oyster selection in the US. I got to try the hot dishes as I had not been there for some years and everything was outstanding.

  • Review 89 (2018-06-21 - Rating: 4)

I wasnt sure what to expect when I came here, but we were lucky to arrive before the rush, because it is extremely popular. If you like absinthe, then this is the place to go. If you dont like absinthe, you should either skip it or just stick to the oysters (which I didnt try, but apparently they are very good). The bartenders were very accommodating and gave advice for local restaurants. Its a charming little place with a very strong air of New Orleans French-quarter style. Id recommend it just for that alone, but the drinks also blew me out of the water.

  • Review 90 (2017-09-19 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 91 (2023-12-23 - Rating: 5)

My husband and I had a lovely time here. We ordered the oysters Rockefeller and the beef cheek was phenomenal. Eddy, one of the bartenders gave us top tier service and even made us drinks with his own twist according to the liquor we like. Def recommend this place!!

First time caller. Long time listener?Yeah. Something like that.My go to spot to show out of towners a great Cocktail experience. These guys are top notch! The atmosphere is special with its old world vibes and betters with the Dixieland music singing along in the background. Its almost always busy but dont let that scare you away as its part of the charm of the place and the bartenders are true professionals in service and skill, so you wont wait long for your drink regardless.I usually dance around the menu and have had most of the staples. (They are known for quite a few)Rather than me tell you what to do... Go...trust your bartender and have a great night (As I always do).

.. the drinks are nice due to the level of care placed into making them but they’re not exceptional in taste for the price paid .. the atmosphere inside is okay, but the backyard is the true “GEM” of this establishment. Def a date spot overall.

  • Review 98 (2023-01-29 - Rating: 5)

Great food, friendly servers, and perfect cocktails! We stopped by without a reservation around 1pm on a Saturday and were kindly seated at the corner rail for 4. The horseshoe-shaped bar is classic and the atmosphere was pretty calm. There is a good variety on the drinks menu including a whole section devoted to Absinthe cocktails and an extensive wine list (by the bottle). Our servers were great and super knowledgeable - we got a whole story about the history of the Old King Cole Martini whilst the drink was made on a silver tray at the tableside. The Martini was incredible and thoroughly recommended! We also had some nibbles including warm olives, and there were plenty of US Oysters to choose from covering East to West coast. The anchovy butter with the bread was particularly amazing! Well be back again soon to try more.

  • Review 99 (2024-03-30 - Rating: 5)

Always nice coming back to this little gem. They upped their martini game with caviar bumps for which we applaud them. Other than that expect it to be full most of the prime time but you’ll get in if you put yourself on the waitlist.Suitable for a date or drinks with besties.

  • Review 100 (2023-11-19 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 106 (2023-10-05 - Rating: 5)

Their other food is quality but I come here for the oysters. The funnest way to enjoy them is to get ALL 20 or so types they have and review them together with your group, scoring them on the chit. Which one is the cucumberiest? Which the briniest? Which one makes you feel most like you’ve melded with the sea and are a sea spirit?Throw in a few clams as well, some of which here were also incredible.I am not sure where else you can taste so many different oysters at the same time. HEAVEN!

May be my new favorite cocktail bar in the area along with its seafood selection and towers. Absolutely incredible cocktails. Amazing atmosphere. Accommodating for small and large party’s, with friendly wait staff. Food was excellent, besides the seaweed butter for the bread is an acquired taste, but is not what you go for. Everything from the shellfish apps to drinks were incredible. Excited to be back!

My favorite oyster bar in the city - took my date and she loved it also. Classy NOLA/Parisian deco for a date night and the bar vibe is top notch. Didnt realize they no longer to Oyster Happy Hour, but theyre good enough to justify their regular menu price. We had wine, but the cocktails people were drinking around us all looked good. Lot of obscure spirits behind the bar including their Absinthe collection. If youre looking for a raw bar in Williamsburg - look no further!

Maison Premiere is a fantastic spot for a date night in New York. The environment is quintessential of a classic cocktail bar with a slightly darker ambiance, which adds to its allure. The oysters were definitely the highlight of the meal - fresh, juicy, and delicious. The drinks were also top-notch and well-crafted. Overall, I would highly recommend Maison Premiere for a romantic evening with a loved one.

  • Review 120 (2022-01-03 - Rating: 5)

The good:This must be one of the best or the best cocktail bar in NYC. The atmosphere is calm ,not noisy, kind staff, excellent service. The drinks are well balanced, good ingredients, and there are several and great choices. You can get a Martini like 1950 style, very strong with interesting flavor. It is prepared in front of you by a specialist. They have a seafood money and the fluke dish is great. The bad:The seaweed butter with bread I do not recommend for those light in stomach. Some bar tenders use mask and other dont. Bathroom not so clean.Overall, this is by far my favorite cocktail place and it worth the price.

Maison Premier is he most beautiful place that I recommend to all my friends and clients! I am always happy to be back to the restaurant and get my favs - beef cheeks and the variety of oysters, lobster roll and great drinks. Yay!

  • Review 123 (2023-03-14 - Rating: 5)

Cozy and intimate spot, I would recommend a seat along the booth over the bar if you want to really cozy up. Service was excellent and our waitress was very knowledgeable in regards to the oyster selection. The seaweed butter that came with the bread was perfection, I loved the slight brininess, the leeks vinaigrette dish was a touch too salty, the lobster roll was one of the best we’ve had, and the beef cheeks were tender and flavorful.

  • Review 130 (2022-01-29 - Rating: 5)

Maison Premiere has the best selection of oysters in all of NYC, and I’ve tried pretty much every bar that serves oysters in the city. It doesn’t hurt that it is also a classic cocktail bar that transports you to another era and has a friendly staff and knowledgeable bartenders. Worth going out of your way to come here, and certainly worth stopping by when you’re in the area.

Cute spot and nice cocktails -love the little details that makes all the difference. Lovely vibe even for a Sunday evening. Reserve if you can, but they do accommodate walk-in. They have several choices of oysters which was really appreciated. We took the seafood platter, though they were yummy, they weren’t shucked well so they were small and stuck on their shell. Apart from that, really enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly.

  • Review 137 (2022-09-21 - Rating: 5)

I’ve been here while in NY from Italy and, let me say, it was one of the highlights of our trip! The place is crazy pretty, both the dining room and the garden (where we were seated), great cocktails, and the food was SO GO w we got the oyster selbutter and, oh my god, this bread. I mean, I loved the oysters, they were fresh, tasty and the toppings selection was great, BUT THIS BREAD AND BUTTER!!!! we loved it so much we ordered it twice. The other thing we absolutely loved about this place was the staff: our host was incredibly nice and friendly, she gave us advice about the menu (thanks for suggesting the bread&butter ily) and was in general lovely. After we paid we asked if there was any chance to reserve for 6 people (our whole party) for the next night, knowing it was going to be difficult, but the girl at the door was really helpful, moved a few tables and found us a table! Unfortunately we had to cancel cause one of our friends started feeling sick, and, one month later, I’m still sad about it.The price was New York pricey lol considering everything we ate and drank, and the average bill at a place like this, it certainly wasn’t cheap, but I would’ve expected to spend more to be honest.Overall a really great experience, I’d recommend it to anyone, especially couples seeking a romantic nights or small group of friends.Thank you for your hospitality! ♥️

  • Review 140 (2022-01-31 - Rating: 5)

MP is a seriously awesome joint. On first blush, the atmosphere and decor seem a bit much. But, a few minutes in, even before the first cocktail, the vibe rings true. Not as if we havent been to similar (not overrun) places in Paris or NO: authenticity is not an issue. And then theres the food and drinks: the reason for the big show in the first place. The oysters (yeah, the varieties, shucking, condition and liquor were perfect!), cocktails, wine selection, kitchen offerings are truly delectable and well-served by the skills, knowledge, care, and warmth of the servers. We never felt abandoned, disregarded, or rushed, nor did we ever feel we were being up-sold or inappropriately fussed over. Id go on, but Im at work. Suffice to say we were THRILLED to return with 3 shots in our arms for the first time since December 2019. Next time it wont be so long, variants be damned.

  • Review 141 (2021-08-03 - Rating: 5)

Amazing oysters bar with phenomenal cocktails. It’s easy to see why this place is on the Michelin list. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and the place feels like it’s straight out of a novel. Tons of fantastic, niche absinthe’s and spirits. I love it here. Thanks Maison Premiere!

A bit pricey but well worth the money. Great food and drinks. A place is a bit dark after the sets. But I would recommend this place to anyone whos a foodie. The dollar oysters are good for happy hours. The more pricey oysters arent that great. Beers are all good. Entree dishes are a taste like no other. I spend around a $100 per person every time I go.

  • Review 145 (2024-11-12 - Rating: 5)

The food was amazing, and the prices were reasonable considering this is a high end seafood restaurant in New York. The cocktails were well crafted and the wine was superb. Overall, this was one of the best dinners Ive had. Very well done to the team. Outstanding job.

@lydieats 💕 Beyond impressed! Maison Premiere is a cocktail/oyster bar with an extensive list of absinthe-based drinks and outstanding food. Super cozy, candle-lit space that’s perfect for date night!Starting off with the standouts, this lobster roll was amazing. Perfectly buttered chunks, plump and full of flavor 😋 I feel like I’m cheating on Neptune bc I loved it so much. Also these chips are seasoned to the next level. They’re def salty but whatever they sprinkled on is super addictive. That being said, the trout was my favorite 💯 Served in a beautiful creamed leak sauce, the hints of lemon and mild sweetness blended so so well. I want to bathe in this sauce!!! Don’t skip out on the oysters. They’re super fresh, each with a distinctive flavor. Chicory salad is a great way to cleanse the brine and get your appetite ready for the main!

  • Review 149 (2019-04-08 - Rating: 5)

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and we had a wonderful time. We were not oyster fans before the visit, but left changed people. Our waitress crafted an oyster sampler plate specifically for us. We loved the Fanny Bay oysters so much that we ordered another plate. The beef tartare was fantastic and the flavor profile on the sea bass was killer. They also had a fantastic organic wine selection and a beer list perfect for sea food lovers. Atmosphere was romantic, yet lively. Great music and super attentive staff (yet not annoying).

This dimly-lit, intimate oyster bar captures historic New Orleans French Quarter and features a variety of absinthe cocktails. The oysters were fresh and sourced from all over the US and Canada. The service can be a bit slow as we waited about 15 minutes for drinks, but we did arrive during happy hour for $1.25 to $2.00 oysters. Highly recommend if you appreciate quality oysters, cocktails, and ambience.

Wonderful service and food. They know what they do well (wine and oysters) and stick to it. Theres some other fun apps like spicy clam toast and some steak tartare, but this isnt one of those seafood places that tries to please everyone. No steak or burger or even overly complicated fish entrees. All said and done, if youre looking for great oysters and crudo theres no better place in Williamsburg.

Very nice, fancy spot. Look at this little carrot on my drink and tell me it’s not the cutest thing.

Oyster happy hour is amazing, prices almost as good as buying straight from the fish market without having to do the work. Cocktails were also excellent, highly recommend trying one of the absinthe based concoctions. They have a whole menu dedicated to the stuff

I thought it was really expensive but totally worth every penny. The bartenders seem to really love their jobs and know every drink on the menu extensively. Their outfits are adorable and fit the era of the place. Perfectly done interior. I really loved it here. Its an experience.

Super happy to see Maison Premiere reopen! Still serving the same classic menu. The same great oysters and cocktails as they have always been. Still the beautiful spot for hanging out and just have a good time.

My cousin and I dropped in for some daytime cocktails and was not disappointed. The drinks and food was very good and the decor and theme of the place was so gorgeous. The service was very good and everyone working was very helpful and kind. I hope to come again if I visit NYC!

Absinthe, Absinthe and more Absinthe. Loved the old school drip fountain centerpiece and the central bar that commands the first room. Also this place has a lovely atrium garden in the rear that I am sure is a great place to sit with friends even though I didnt myself on this visit. Excellent cocktails and a knowledgable and snappily dressed staff. Great music also. A fresh way to spend a summer afternoon (or spring, autumn or winter for that matter).

Grand list of absinthe and wine with delicious cocktails. And a oyster bar to fall in love with

This was the best service I’ve ever had at a restaurant, period. Our server was super friendly. It took me a while to notice, but she was running sprints around the place, checking in on everyone, though it never felt rushed or overbearing; just extremely attentive and at the top of her game. The table side cocktail service was extra special. In addition to getting a great drink, prepared expertly, you also get a history of the cocktail and lots of additional info. And the food was absolutely amazing too. We started out with a couple dozen oysters and ended up ordering another couple of dozen after how much we enjoyed the first round. The deserts were exquisite.
