    Food is so Delicious, cheesesteaks were the best! the variety of fries (Italian, old bay and regular) were awesome 👌The food came out really fast, Lana provided us the best service, shes very kind and sweet and made us feel at home. The place was very cozy and clean, and very happy 😊I would recommend it 💯 and I will come back soon.

    First time in New York and we are looking for the best Philly Cheese steak here, and we found this hidden gem. First of all, the lady behind bar - Lana is excellent, well treated to her customers and recommended foods which just fit our taste, the Italian fries, buffalo wings and the star Philly cheese steak are out of expectation.For the drinks, the olde city amber ale, full of favour and the color of the beer is amazing; the other half “the whiz” hazy ipa also is my favourite. Definitely worth a visit when u in NY and for sure will come again

    The food was absolutely delicious, and I would happily return for the quality of the dishes alone. The price was fair for the location and quality.However, I did experience some issues with the service. While our server/bartender wasnt rude or unpleasant, she wasnt as attentive as we would have liked. Although she was the only staff member working the front of the restaurant, there were only a few other tables occupied during most of our meal.Despite this, we enjoyed the food so much that we returned later for a takeout order.

    I got told this was one of the best places in NYC for Cheesesteak and I can say it certainly is. Great food and beer, especially love the Big Wave, it went down well watching the soccer. Also a big thank you to Lana who looked after us, her service was the best.

    After a great experience at the Madison Ave. location, we visited the Hell’s Kitchen restaurant for a quick drink before the airport. I’m so glad we did! The food was great and drinks were strong but Svetlana’s service was the real treat. She’s the nicest New Yorker and one of the best servers in town! I absolutely recommend this restaurant chain, and especially the Hell’s Kitchen location.

    On New Year’s Day my husband was craving a cheesesteak from Olde City in Hell’s Kitchen from the time we sat at the bar we met the most beautiful and friendly bartender Svetlana K and it made our experience so memorable and special not only is Svetlana a sweetheart she was very informative about the menu as well as cocktail selection she made me the best margarita I ever had. She was extremely personable and friendly we will definitely be back to see her and we definitely recommend this hidden gem. My husband & I are both in the industry as seasoned Chefs on a high platform so to be treated so special and she had no idea who we were shows she treats all customers with kindness and compassion we will definitely be back to visit her and we left her a generous tip to pay homage to a great experience. Thank You Svetlana for being the sweetest human being I pray you boss knows how special you are like we do!!!

    I was visiting the city for a couple of days. Ran into this gem of a place. Walked in olde city and was immediately was greeted. Sat at the bar and had a drink and some wings. Had a nice conversation with the sweetest bartender Svetlana. Would definitely recommend if you’re around the area.

    Svetlana was the best!! Very beautiful energy and smile. The lights & bumping music above set the vibe for my lunch, and this was my first time actually have a cheesesteak!! The special was everything I needed and more! The beer + shot combo was a steal 😉.

    We were in New York City recently and I picked this place because Im not sure Ill make it to Philly. The reviews said it was authentic so I had to try it. I got the lunch special which was a cheesesteak, fries or salad and a beer for $19. I got it with Whiz and it was very good. We also got the real deal Philly pretzels with cheese dip which were also very good. The service was excellent and we would definitely go back.

    Lana is the best bartender I’ve had since arriving in NYC. The espresso martini was flawless and the wings and Italian fries (both recommended) were delicious. Will be back!

    This place is amazing! The best philly cheese steak Ive ever tasted. After walking around NY and experiencing nothing but rudeness coming in here changed my experience in NY. My server was Lana and she has an amazing attitude, she put me on a nice lunch special with a cheese steak, fries that were so amazing and an ice cold beer for only 21 bucks. I will definitely be back! 5 stars 🌟

    The food was amazing! The atmosphere was amazing! Lana was amazing! The whole experience was everything! We had the cheesesteak and the cheesesteak fries and it was all so good. 10/10 recommendation!

    It is a nice bar on the main avenue. We went there for happy hour. Had a wine and beer. The pretzels were for $2 and the buffalo cauliflower was about $6 or $8. They both tasted really well. Not significantly oiled and feeling greasy at the end of the meal. We left the place very happy making a notation that we should come back during another happy hour. They also have happy hours between Monday and Thursday from 11:00 p.m. till 2:00 a.m. which is closing hours. And some late evening. Happy hours, probably until 7:00 p.m. or so. Enjoy the place.

    My wife and I have had a great experience here. We came to NYC for the Yankees game tonight and we are from Tennessee so we are killing time before the game. We wanted a cheesesteak and it did not disappoint. Svetlana was a wonderful server. She was very personable and made us feel very welcomed. It was a great way to kill a couple hours for lunch. I highly recommend for a beer and cheesesteak!

    So I went there today to the ninth Avenue location I tried the cheesesteak. It was very good the bartender Svetlana Was an absolute delight and took good care of me. The surrounding area is a little shady and she made sure What was in the street not inside the bar and also had great recommendations very sweet. The steak itself was very good and I would definitely go back and eat there again

    Whiz wit! (and some banana peppers because I was feeling frisky). This place delivers a great quality cheese steak in a warm atmosphere. Everything about the meal was supreme quality from the roll, whiz, onions, and peppers to the STEAK. Not dry, seasoned well and really the perfect ratio to the other ingredients. Really the best Ive had in NYC - dont waste a trip to Brooklyn for Federoffs if youre in Manhattan and the others arent even worth talking about. This is the spot.A final note: I got takeout but the bar area appeared quite welcoming. Solid place to sit down and socialize / grab a beer with your food.

    Love it here! My quest for an authentic Philly cheesesteak led me here and I was not disappointed. I’m here for my third visit and I’ve been warmly welcomed and served every time.     I love the lunch deal but I love the service even more. Nicoles hospitality is first class and I feel more welcome at Olde City than I do at the numerous pretentious fine dining joints that I frequent. As a philly native its refreshing to have a local HK spot that reminds me of home. Neighborhood means everything in Philly, and this has been my spot for good reason.

    My wife was craving a good cheese steak for lunch . After reading reviews I brought her to the 9th Ave location. Wow hands down the best weve ever had . Lana was the best .     It was 12:30am at 15th of February, which btw is my birthday, I met my friend at Penn station, both literally starving. Looking around for a food, found this plase nearby, seen some pictures of beautiful cheesesteakWe had a luck to meet a guy, the real reason of this review, Alek! Highest possible service provided, he got us enrolled in some kind of promotion which I didnt really know about, which discounted us like 10$. By the end at the moment we were about to leave I just shared with Alek that its my bday just now and its first place we came to and it was great not only because of food but his service! Hearing that we got offered some drinks on house!Definitely the place I would come to every time Im around!

    Cheesesteak delivery is impeccable. Comes piping hot and crispy. Wiz + sharp provolone. Eat immediately before bread gets soggy. Have ordered twice and it’s been amazing both times. Haven’t found a place I’ve liked this much since 99 miles to Philly closed down.

    Best cheesesteak I’ve had in the city (better than Shorty’s and Wogies). Wings and cheddar bites were great as well. Went during Eagles vs Rams and atmosphere was perfect. Perfect size crowd and very quick service. DJ played music during commercials and got heckled when he accidentally cut the eagles fight song short. Felt like I was right back in Philly! Will be back for the Phillies tonight.

    I absolutely love this bar. In particular, the Amber ale tastes just like bass ale which was my go-to bar favorite for decades. I really enjoy their pretzels.

    When you first walk in, it appears to be a standard bar, but wait! Look closely and within seconds you realize this is a Philly bar in NYC and their cheesesteak backs it up. This Philly bar offers good food and drink specials and there are plenty of TV’s to catch just about any sports event. The cheesesteak definitely holds its own, it’s not the best I’ve ever had, however I like to focus on the quality. If you like cheesesteaks, beer and sports, then definitely check this place out. Did I mention they have a large selection of draft beers too.

    When you walk in, you’ll quickly realize this is a bar and not a restaurant. Don’t let that deter you! I sat down at the bar right around 6pm. There were several side tables also open for parties or 2 and 4. Bartender was very attentive and I ordered a draft beer from their decent selection. The menu has many Cheesesteak options, but I opted for a classic with Whiz and added the options fried onions. I passed on green peppers. I splurged on the calories and also ordered fries. Before my food arrived, it got significantly busier, with most every seat taken. A DJ finished setting up and started cranking some tunes, so it got a little louder, but not too bad. My cheesesteak arrived in a basket, cut in half. Perfectly crisp lightly batter-coated fries are a large order and in their own basket. The sandwich was large enough to split, but way too tasty to do so. The soft bun was filled with the right balance of tasty meat, whiz, and onions. This was easily one of THE best cheesesteaks I have ever had. Cooked perfectly, and you can tell it’s high-quality meat. I won’t hesitate to eat here again.

    Svetlana was the SWEETEST! SUPER KIND and WELCOMING!As soon as i walked through the door she greeted me with a huge smile & was eager to serve me. I had just passed my food handler examination so i came in to celebrate. I shared this information with her & she was just as overjoyed as i was! she wished me nothing but good luck & praise. It was the exact energy that i needed. She was so proud of me LOL. I ordered a whiskey sour for my drink which was a 10/10. SUPER GOOD! The right amount of liquor, not too strong, not too light.     We were very sad when we found out that Shortys closed all their locations in NYC, but this is a worthy replacement! We got the Philly cheesesteaks (Authentic, with Cheese Whiz) and thought they were fantastic. Bread, beef, and cheese were all great. We personally wouldve liked a little more cheese, but they provided a large side cup of it when we asked ($1). The Old Bay (Cajun spiced) fries were good too.Brownie sundae was decent; wish the brownie was a bit more moist/fudgy and hotter.Music was a tiny bit loud for our taste but reasonable for a sports bar.Good service.We will be back!
