Fantastic happy hour. get a bottle for $30. good cheese plate and $1.5 oysters for happy hour too. we went on a tuesday just as it opened and there weren’t too many people. it filled up pretty quick by 6pm. happy hour goes till 8 so you have lots of time to stop by after work. the vino verde was our wine of choice and the perfect crisp sip for a hot summer day. for the intended vibe 5/5 (patio happy hour). you never know what you’ll see people watching near washington square park - hh & a show -

I reserved the back area of the underground bar for my birthday and it was perfect. By the time we arrived, the owner himself welcomed us and helped us with our initial wine selection. As our guests arrived throughout the night, the bartenders made sure everyone had a wine glass and that no glass was ever empty. We were so impressed by the service and how accommodating the whole staff was. And of course the wine itself was great as well. Definitely recommend this place for celebrating a special event or even coming to casually enjoy affordable wine! -

Amelia is amazing! She ran the front of the house alone and I was impressed. Great service and some surprises with the wine selection. -

We arrive around 7:51 PM therefore we had a nine minute to order happy hour we had a bottle of wine for only $28 and it was really good. We sat outside near the sidewalk and it was still good. Server was friendly and nice however the meat and cheese plates were little bit disappointed. They only had a three kind of cheese and the meat was not that special. -

Hidden gem. Was there on a Saturday night and the crowd was light. Had a fantastic drink called the Dirty Sherry. The atmosphere and vibe are chill and the service was wonderful. Can’t wait to go back. -

Go to 8th Street Winecellar and soak up the vibe. Its Poppin but cozy atmosphere and the staff and ownership are truly delightful. Knowledgeable yet fun and spunky, they make this spot a true gem for happy hour or some bites for dinner and drinks. -

I really like this wine bar. Came here two days in a row when I visited NYC a couple months ago. Can’t wait to come back soon. -
Review 12 (2019-10-28 - Rating: 5)
I LOVE this wine bar. They have a great happy hour with $25 bottles, all of which are quality wines and great tasting. At 8 PM, they have $1 oysters that are incredible. The space is nice, but can get a bit warm since its particularly small inside. The staff there are welcoming and willing to answer questions about the wine selection if you have any.FYI, no reservations can be made unless its a party of 8 or more (not sure if thats the correct number). -
Review 13 (2023-10-15 - Rating: 5)
Best bartender ever! So knowledgeable and friendly. Allows tastings and makes sure you find your ideal glass of wine. Wine selection isn’t huge but it’s eclectic and they will help guide you to your final selection. Cheese board is amazing quality and also a lot of bang for your buck. It’s a go to wine bar in the neighborhood. -

Review 15 (2023-06-03 - Rating: 4)
What a cute happy hour spot! We got a bottle of the Spanish red for $30, a cheese tray, and the arancini. So delicious. A perfect vibe for summer. Our server was sweet and knowledgeable as well, but there was a bit of miscommunication about our cheese tray. She said she would bring us the list of cheeses so we could choose, but she didnt come back for a while and then when we asked her about it, she said that the order is already in, so we didnt get to choose. It still tasted really good though so not too upset about that. -
Review 16 (2018-04-05 - Rating: 5)
Great atmosphere with an inspired set of appetizers. Good happy hour wine prices, though the wine selection could be expanded a little. Hostesses / bartenders were helpful and honest about wait times for a table, helped to accommodate my group as well. -

Review 19 (2019-12-29 - Rating: 5)
Very friendly staff. Good happy hour at $25 per bottle. However they do charge $3 for a club soda, but they gave me buybacks so it was more reasonable. Get there early if you want a seat at the bar. The meat and cheese board is very good. -
Review 20 (2009-09-27 - Rating: 5)
Since the moment I first called them they were excellent - very personable and inviting! The atmosphere is delightful and the food is absolutely incredible. The servings are on the small side, but theyre hearty and leave you full. The wine selection is excellent and our waitress Nikki was a delight. We went last night for dinner and are going back again next Friday because we enjoyed ourselves so much! Half of me doesnt even want to explain how wonderful this place was because then I wont be able to get in anymore - but it was fantastic! Ive never had a more enjoyable experience. -
Review 21 (2023-05-02 - Rating: 5)
This is really my favorite place to go to for any reason. The Happy Hour is until 8, which is so rare in NYC. Staff is always friendly, and there’s always a spot if you go on the earlier side. -
Review 22 (2023-08-22 - Rating: 4)
Great place to have a bite, French appetizers or tapas, good wine list, happy hour 4-8 with 9$/glass, street terrace. -
Review 23 (2013-06-07 - Rating: 5)
Words cannot describe how much I truly love coming here. My friends and I happened upon this little nugget by accident when trying to find a nice place in the area to just hang out and enjoy a nice glass of wine. We have been coming back religiously ever since. It is small enough that it discourages TOO many people from coming at once, but interestingly large enough to be accomodating. The staff have been nothing but a pleasure, and they are personable enough to recognize my group and treat us very jovially. I always highly recommend this place, and will continue to do so. -
Review 24 (2024-10-09 - Rating: 5)
Perfect for a quiet intimate tuesday night with friends -
Review 25 (2015-09-30 - Rating: 4)
Consistently PACKED for happy hour - as warranted by the good deals on wine. But can get pretty loud. Service is consistently fast and professional. Drop by, give it a shot, but I wouldnt count on it for an intimate date. -
Review 26 (2022-07-10 - Rating: 5)

Review 39 (2022-02-22 - Rating: 5)
Im staying at the Marlton Hotel on 5th and 8th. This wine bar is just down the street, so I was inclined to try it. I arrived two minutes before the end of happy hour, but the friendly and professional wait staff let me have a glass for the happy hour price. The Malbec is highly recommended. Along with the great service, the interior of the bar is above-board and they played great music (Beatles-era McCartney et al.). I highly recommend the place, and I hope myself to return soon. -
Review 40 (2019-04-24 - Rating: 4)
Great happy hour with $8 wine and $24 bottles. Decent prices otherwise too. Bruschetta was a bit messy but tasty. Ambiance is a little loud. Friendly service. Worth a visit when you need a cheap drink! -
Review 41 (2024-03-18 - Rating: 5)

Review 56 (2022-08-21 - Rating: 4)
Great bar on a lively section of 8th Street. Don’t let the name fool you — their cocktails are just as good as their wine selection. It’s usually quite easy to get in and is open late, so it’s a great option after dinner nearby or while waiting for a spot at Mace or Analogue. -
Review 57 (2023-05-07 - Rating: 5)
Never in my life have I experienced such great food, drinks and customer service!!!! We ate the Rollatini, baked Mac and cheese, pulled pork sliders and the Patatas Bravas and some drinks. Every bite and sip was DIVINE 🤌🤌 Im not exaggerating when I say this is the best meal weve ever had in NYC. -

Review 60 (2022-08-21 - Rating: 5)
A staple in Greenwich Village. So many memories and chapters have unfolded in this underground nook bar. The bartenders are always on point and have to be for that type of setting. One or two bartenders up against a full house is no easy task so be patient and respectful and you will be treated like royalty. -

A hidden gem in The Village. The happy hour is incredible. You can grab a whole bottle of wine for $22, get some good snacks and appetizers, and relax for an hour our two. The staff is always welcoming.Fair warning: Get there EARLY. This place crowds up around 6 and stays that way until about 7:30 or 8, so give yourself some extra time. But trust me: it’s worth it! -

YES! Love this cute little place! We stumbled upon it a few days before World Pride when we needed to get out of the humidity. Its got cozy/chill vibes, great wine, and even better munchies! How many places offer pigs n blankets as a snack?! We went back a few days later (during Pride, also to escape the madness) and while the place was 3x busier than the first time we were there, the bartenders were just as sweet and attentive. Cant wait to go back! -

Happy hour includes $7 glass of wine (they have 1 white and 1 red), or $24 from a selection of about a dozen bottles. They have a larger wine list as well. The mussels in our mussel pot were okay (maybe due to it being winter), but the sauce was good, and we got extra bread for dipping.Other items were more bar food, as well as some cheese and charcuterie boards which were I think assortments of the day.Service is good. The location is a few steps down, into a cellar one might say. Casual ambiance. -

The best mussels I have ever try 😍 -
Review 73 (2022-02-05 - Rating: 5)
Excellent place, excellent energy, one of the best establishments in NYC period. The only improvement would be a renaming of The Smokin’ Mirrors to the The Smokin’ KIKI because she created the drink. -

Review 77 (2013-04-25 - Rating: 4)
This bar just feels cozy. It helps that you go down a set of steps to get below street level before you even enter the front door. Between the melted candles set on wine bottles and the dim but warm lighting the large space still feels intimate. The bartenders are friendly and also dont mind sharing some of their vino knowledge. -

White wines served way too cold. Otherwise nice hangout -
Review 82 (2019-09-07 - Rating: 4)
They have a really good wine list and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. The only reason I wouldnt give it 5 stars is because of how loud it was inside, and it wasnt overly crowded. If they could find a way to dampen the noise a bit, it would really help make it a more enjoyable environment that adds to the quality of their menu and great service of their staff. -

Review 91 (2015-03-26 - Rating: 5)
I came here with a friend for their amazing $20 bottle of wine Happy Hour on a Wednesday and had a fantastic time! The selection of bottles is broad enough that there is something for everyone and the ambiance and vibe is classy but chill. While the space isnt very big, it manages to never feel overwhelmingly crowded, still, if you are planning on snagging a seat or two during their happy hour I would advise getting there early as it certainly does fill up. Our bartender was knowledgeable and service was quick.Aside from the (two) bottles my companion and I ended up sharing, we also opted for a few selections from their menu as well: the meatballs in red sauce were flavorful and rich and the hearty crusty bread served was a fantastic addition, allowing you to sop up every last delicious bite! The mushroom toast was crammed with mushrooms, as someone who tolerates mushrooms but doesnt love them, I found these to be my least favorite, however, my friend seemed to enjoy them quite a bit for the record. Lastly, we tried the chicken panini and white it was more of a toasted sandwich overall, I must admit it was delightful. All three dishes seemed to be the perfect amount of food as well as a great accompaniment to the lovely sangiovese we ordered. I will definitely be returning here in the near future! Its too great a deal to pass up! -

The space is intimate, but lively; came here on Halloween with some girlfriends and waited at least a half hour for a table. It took one of my friends 2 hours to make it to the cellar because the parade was happening in the area. Now thats dedication and a true test of patience- Im still impressed.. mostly because she didnt end up tackling a policeman out of sheer frustration.Note to self: never be in the area on that day ever again. The happy hour is great; just keep in mind that the $18 bottles are only good for a few pre-selected options. We chose a Riesling and a bottle of red AND made sure to order before the hh was up.The pork sliders were a big hit; I believe we got 4 plates of those; I would say that you can split it between two people if youre just looking for a snack to accompany your main course of alcohol. The rest of the food was ok, nothing else we got was worth mentioning.Id definitely come back with more friends on a regular day. -

Super nice service. Family atmosphere near Washington Square Park. Happy hour with reasonable prices for NYC. You can drink a bottle of wine there for two. The California Chardonnay was excellent. -
